Good informative video. I do all my own maintenance on my boats unless it's a major repair it can save you several dollars plus the down time from taking it to a shop.
I am a marine technician I recommend replacing the drain plug seals every time you drain the oil I work on both Yamaha and mercury outboards they are cheap to replace as well
Great video! Another trick I learned this fall is to soak the new bottles of oil in hot water prior to refilling. Makes the gear lube a little easier to pump into the lower unit! I was impressed how much it actually helped. That can be some thick stuff sometimes!
Make sure you let all the oil drain from your vent hole completely after filling it, before you screw the vent plug back in. Dont pump more oil in it after you see it coming out. The vent hole is at its location for a reason and should never be overfilled past the bottom of it.
