yeah from ps5 controllers all the way to iPhone. sometimes when things a mass produces doesn't matter what country quality control fails compared to those countries that are very little. but this is entirely dependent on how much you're willing to spend b grade all the way to triple A.
I have a Teslong borescope from Aliexpress for 35$. It is well made and it works well. I am from Germany and for this quality I would have to pay at least 200$ or more. I can‘t say anything bad about teslong. Very good quality and even better price.
Cell phone cameras require specific hardware that is built into cell phone processors. This is the same reason you do not get a cell phone camera or any of its amazing capabilities in your x86 based laptops. However the new snapdragon based windows laptops are supposed to be capable of supporting cell cameras. Its coming for everyone I would imagine.
I bought a smartphone unit that articulates 360° that actually is outstanding. (Anykit 360°). Don’t buy a non articulating device, it’s extremely frustrating attempting to position the view without that feature. Being able to turn a 180° and look back is a must! You’ve gone thru the spark plug hole into a combustion chamber, how are you going to look at the valves if you can’t articulate the camera tip? Just one example.
They're better than none but always get one with an integral screen because when Android versions change you're fooked and nearly all the driver software is trash.

I have this exact camera, so far so good. Pretty good quality, does what I need to to do (Telling me if a engine is fucked or not)

I have one of the smaller teslong boroscopes. It's nce, no detachable camera, though. the camera is small enough to check my earwax generation.

All the small cheap ones for android are super crap... I bought 3 of them and all failed miserably
