Probably the best player England ever had, those 3 metatarsal injuries were devastating. At his peak didn't have a single weakness to his game. High football IQ, pace, acceleration, technique, strength and power, passing range, heading, set pieces, finishing, versatility, cuteness, work rate, positional and tactical sense, attitude, stamina, mentality, big game performances. Played too many games, peaked too early, wasn't the best professional off the pitch which didn't help his longevity. Such a shame that his England years were wasted on bad managers.
