Hello sir, While doing SEO of the new website I have seen the old website URL in SERP. if both the website old and new are available on google, will it affect the ranking? and what should I do in that situation?
There are 3 ways possible here: 1) Shut down your previous website, as already suggested. 2) If above case is not possible: a) Use canonical tags. This will help google to check which one is preferred URL to rank. b) 301 redirect to the URL. This will permanently shift the bots attention to the new page you want to rank in SERP.

Before delete apply no index tag on your page or post what you want to delete,then after some days delete it , this is SEO friendly way to delete your indexed pages

Yes, google will rank only one for identical content. You need to put redirects in place, migrate the website in GSC and shutdown the old website.
