I had every intention of buying the ZT when going to my local sportsman’s. But since they had the link there as well, I compared them myself, and man… the link took my money. Just based off the feeling of the aluminum handles and the ergo’s and it having the same steel it was a no brainer and to also save money was a plus! At the end of the day it’s a pocket knife lol

During the brief ZT minimum advertized pricing (MAP) motitorium, I stocked up on many additional ZTs, including the ZT 0357. I rarely pay full price on anything I don't need, so an incentive helped. I have always been a Link fan, and, now, I have the FRN version, the aluminum 420HC (Tanto & Sheepsfoot), S35VN, M390 and 20CV. I am glad Kershaw finally addressed the free spinning scale screw problem. A 20CV Tanto would fix the thin tip.

Yes,you can easily find D2 for the links base price now but ..kershaw's 420HC is solid and their warranty is amazing vs cheap chinese knives. Add in it's easy to maintain and to obtain.

I think that Kershaw is flat ground. I remember an interview with a Kershaw employee, I think he was talking with Kniefcenter, and he said that the grinding equipment they use here in the US isn’t capable of hollow grinding the more difficult steels. The Blur is a good example. 14C28N is hollow and S30V is flat.

Another great USA made with quality steel is the buck spitfire. They come in different colored aluminum handles and blade materials but the s30v bladed version (its a copperandclad exclusive) is only 50 bucks and it's made in USA too. Amazing deal for the price there are definitely a few good USA made options under 100 bucks.
But man this link is so beefy I was surprised by the size to weight ratio lol those are some huge liners with no milling..
Biggest issue with the link is the assisted I'm just not a huge fan and this knife isn't really deassistable.
I plan on getting a bareknuckle soon but in 14C28N since I want it in olive green.

I am sorry but you could practically buy two links for one of the ZT'S and they are virtually identical. I don't like the gimping on the ZT and while the G10 scales on the handle are a plus for the ZT, you could not sale it to me over the Link based on that considering the price. I like the look of that link better as well. I am not sure why a company would make two knives that are virtually identical and sell them under two different banners with two very different price points.

You don't have to fight with the raised screws. They're so small and minute that it is completely negligible. Raised screws have just become a talking point and that's it. The G10 on the ZT bites the pocket far more than those 2 tiny screws do.

No but actually, after many shredded pocket edges (Or the stitching pulling) I agree. That bite is in my opinion unnecessarily tight. I could see if you were going to be hanging upside down or something but just to keep it in your pocket? Great comparison; the ZT 0770 CF is actually slightly closer in blade shape to the Link than the 0357, with the same handle; even the screw and lanyard hole layout is identical. The 0770 is also assisted opening. On my pair I cannot get the Link as sharp as the ZT 0770, and I'm pretty handy with sharpening stuff. The ZT is like a razor, but the 20CV Link is disappointing to say the least. I love the design, don't mind the assisted opening, but the heat treat doesn't seem to be quite the same. I paid $75 though so didn't get hurt too bad.
