Another important factor in the declining crime rate are cameras everywhere. My partner's father worked on the Victorian docks in the 50s and 60s. Stealing was rife. In fact one guy stole an entire house and it's still standing in Safety Beach. Can't rob banks now, they don't hold cash. Most households have nothing of real value one can steal and sell on. I know plenty of heroin addicts, they are now middle aged, they don't steal but buy say, on payday. The methadone program has helped a great deal. Great episode, only found your channel

Aswell as a speed epidemic, jail especially in Vic was a peice of cake besides the over crowded situation. The party drugs took over abit more in the 2000's an heroin was the next choice to recover along with a huge amount of corrupt doctor's handing out xannax etc which played a huge part in drug crimes.
