Most people I know who have had fuelling issues from injectors going bad to fuel pump failures have usually for a few years been using Supermarket fuel. My injectors starting acting up until I swapped back to using premium/non supermarket fuel and I haven’t had a problem since.
However, my car (Sharan) is on 377k miles with no issues mostly done on Asda fuel... 🤔😉
Maybe because it's constantly driven and burns all the s**t out.

Thanks, my Sharan is manual, so not sure about automatic. It all depends on how you driving, where you driving (traffic, hills, engine warmed up)..
On motorway going steady around 60mph on a good day I can get 60mpg, in the city 35-40.
Great video, every important detail shown👏👏. I have one question. My pump is working fine so there is no need for replacement. But I need to drain the fuel from the because the car has been siting for 2 years an the diesel is probably very bad.. Is it possible to drain the diesel without opening unscrewing the pump? I would disconnect the hose that deliver fuel to the engine, then connect another hose to drain the fuel to canister. How can I activate the fuel pump without starting the car? I guess it would be possible to connect wires from 12v batery to thr pumps electric connector? But on which connector?
The only way I know to activate the fuel pump is using a scanner that has this option. I'm pretty sure connecting 12V to the correct contacts would work, but I don't know how.

I don't have fog lights on my Sharan. Just pry plastics out, there's screw behind it.
My Skoda is giving p0087 pressure too low code and the glow-plug light glows randomly. Do you think its a fuel pump issue or high pressure pump or may be anything else ?!
How much electric going to your fule pump, less electric less pressure.

Do you have to prime the pump after installing?
I didn't prime anything after fitting that pump. There's almost no leaks anywhere while doing this, pump goes directly into the tank.
I don't think priming is necessary.
Mine has a clamp on one of the pipes... Its so frustrating cos idk hoe to remove it

As I found out later, there was nothing wrong with the fuel pump in my car. I had bad cold start, but the problem appeared to be with injectors.

I changed the fuel pump on my vw golf mk7 1.6 tdi , now the new pump makes a lot of whining noise. What could it be?
Faulty pump? Enough diesel in tank? Pumps do make some whining noise anyway, like in this video:

Considering this part fits Golf, Audi A3, Scirocco etc... I would assume that it should fit both - estate and hatchback.

However I wouldn't expect any accessories shop to have it, not in Halfords or even Euro Car Parts. Can try AutoDoc, eBay, TPS, Breaker Link, some independent VW parts shops - shop around..

How can I reset the fuel gauge after replacing? It writes a problem and says 0km of fuel is available, I replaced my pump with an original one.
I didn't have that problem, strange.. Doas the car start? Maybe drive it for a bit to let it learn?
@@wawayltd I needed to refuel after a full tank it works properly, sensor learned the position.

My car show only 0.5v electric going to fule pump. Where will be the problems? Battery show 12.2v.
Is it 0.5V when it should be activated or just when just on idle? It doesn't always have to show 12 volts, only when it switches it on.

Switch on 0.5v, even the the fule pump will not make any noises with 0.5v electric.

Thanks, this Skoda was mis-diagnosed. It had a problem with cold start, I scanned it and got fault code for that pump, didn't pay attention that date for code was like 3 weeks ago (the driver probably was too low on fuel), so I replaced working fuel pump - waste of 200 pounds... I'll stick ot on eBay. Made a video anyway.
As far as I know, one of the symptoms - bad start, but unfortunately I can't describe you all symptoms..
