    Matt does amazing work man, he helped me remote tune my 2011 2500HD 6.0 with a truck norris cam. in just a few days of sending him logs he has this truck running better than i could have imagined before we started. the man seems to never sleep, he would send me revisions at 1:30am. other times i would send him a log at 8am, and he would very shorty send me a revision.

    During street tuning, one of the biggest hurdles I've encountered whether stock ecu or aftermarket when you're datalogging and gathering fuel trim or wideband data, is the deceleration data that pollutes the load developed data. This is even when using filters in the scanner alongside the Fuel Trim Cell (FTC) parameter.
    On the dyno you can hold that load so you get cleaner data without deceleration but the dyno brings its own drawbacks during fuel tuning. Dyno is a simulation attempt of the real load that particular vehicle sees on the street. Real load is hard to simulate exactly due to factors like gearing, tire height and weight, vehicle weight and air resistance on the vehicle. As well as air speed and freshness at the air filter when the car is at speed.
    A lot of dyno rooms I've tuned in have poor air circulation which leads to an EGR effect and thus misleading data that becomes incorrect once the vehicle sees fresh air again (will now be lean).

      It can be a challenge to road tune and it does take more time to get close to what can be done on the right dyno, but it's certainly worth the effort if that's the option you have.
      Thanks for sharing your experience here and even when tuning on a dyno Andre till finish up testing thing on the road/track just to be certain things are behaving as they should be 'in the real world' for sure - Taz.

    -2 to -5% fuel trims are nice, 0% use to be my target but it's dangerous as if it does go lean during a situational swing, it is MUCH more negatively noticeable the leaner you are versus being on the rich side.

    The DA is huge. I have a 4.8 swapped grand wagoneer. And the tune change from New england (sea level) to Colorado was huge!

      Cheers for the support, glad you enjoyed this one. We have no plans to stop doing these for a long time yet so keep your ears peeled for some LS7 content in the future.
      In the meantime I believe you will also enjoy the Steve Morris episode if you're an LS7 fan. It's not specific to the LS7 but you will enjoy it I believe, and the Pullen episode is great too.

    I still don't fully understand the logic behind disabling LTFT, especially if they get carried over into open loop fueling. If an issue with the vehicle exists that is requiring 15% more fuel to be added than it should, yes, you definitely want to find and address the underlying cause, but don't you also want the PCM adding that additional ~15% during open loop/WOT to avoid going lean until the problem gets fixed? I've seen enough tuners say they turn off LTFT to realize I'm probably missing something(s) here in my knowledge about how this works.

      Tuning is not to fix mechanical issues. It's to optimize a mechanically sound drivetrain.
      You can tune around issues. But ultimately it will have to be done again after mechanical repairs are made.

      I learned that from Matt's Chopocabra video, disabled the LTFTs and it helped alot

      @nowayjose596 I am with you. Some guys don't want the fuel adding at WOT as it will be too rich but you have to go quite a bit more rich to make a material loss in HP. LTFT will not pull fuel at WOT so that part is moot. Toys.

    Always have to protect your ass. Once your happy with the timing at peak torque, 1500 rpm either side from roughly 3/4 full throttle, knock 2-3 deg off that timing No.
    And that goes for any platform, unless it's your racer and your driving🙂
