    i didnt mention it in the video but another thing i use this for often is for making molds to use for wet forming leather. you can easily make both male and female molds from real life objects and then use them for wet molding leather. hopefully you guys enjoyed my video and will consider subscribing! thanks for watching!

    Awesome: I do leatherwork, but I also make things from Sculpey (and other polymer clays). A couple months ago, I made an impromptu tool holder just like the one you made in 6:37, and ever since, I thought "how can I incorporate Sculpy into my leathercraft projects? I just know there is something useful I can do." - All I can say is, WOW, and thank you for the tips. I'll be making sharpeners, tools, and whatnot out of various polymer clays much in the same way you did with the InstaMorph. BTW: I now have five such tool holders, they come in super handy. One version I made helps me hold my projects while I'm working on them.

      sometimes experimenting with leatherworking tools and hacks is almost as fun for me as the leatherworking itself

      @@sweetgumnyc7794 UPDATE: LOL - now I've fallen down a Sculpey hole, and can't claw my way back out.

    I feel you are very happy with the craft. especially carving. I'm also crazy to carve whatever it is. in PVC ,black granite and now to metal. but good tools are very expensive so we have to rack our brains to outsmart them. oh yes what if you make a video continuation of your vision. make a video about vise for Hobo coin with 3d it would be even better. but you also how exactly according to your vision yesterday. of course it will be interesting. There are lots of vise 3d printers but according to them the round shape is better and can be universal for all coin sizes.

    do you have to put a sealer on the leather after applying the paint stick to prevent it from rubbing off?

    Thermoplastic is nothing new but I haven't seen one that isn't sticky like this. I really like the Grey stuff supplied with GRS tools but it's more like taffy than clay.

    • @sweetgumnyc7794
      @sweetgumnyc7794  Год назад

      that stuff GRS sells is intentionally sticky so yea this is very different.

      @@sweetgumnyc7794 indeed! It's fantastic for a strong hold but I was also making tool handles and things for it and figured that's what most thermoplastics do
