21:9 FTW. Ultrawide is the future. Less demanding than 4K, and more immersive, and a better experience (more cinematic). Plus something to differentiate from consolers. Also the google chrome extensions for ultrawide in netflix and youtube are great to crop or adjust fullscreen video for 21:9 monitors.
Yes. I'm 1 day in to using my new 2K ultrawide and it is revolutionary. Love it. When making the decision to move from dual monitors, there were so many negative videos about ultrawides. Turns out it is perfect for me.
I mostly play strategy games, so having that extra screen space means far less panning of the camera and buttons are more off to the side of the game. Allowing me to see more and improve my micro.
I definitely want to get an ultrawide display. My 1080p 16:9 screen can barely fit two applications side by side very well, and having that extra room would be nice.
Definitley Team Ultrawide. I've never owned one before but I'm in the middle of parting out my first no compromises build and I'm leaning towards the Alienware 34" 1440p Ultrawide, think the silver will go well with my wooden desk and the Corsair 570x Mirror Edition I plan to build in.
Personally I was very underwhelmed when using an ultrawide after reading so many posts online from ultrawide fanatics. It's neat, and definitely more "immersive" given that it fills your whole field of vision, but I didn't find it that mind blowing and didn't feel that it added enough to the experience to justify the increased cost, the hassle of modding games that don't support it, the annoyance of having to turn my head constantly despite being a decent distance from the screen, the lower refresh rate, and so on. They definitely look cool though. Maybe somewhere down the line I'll give them another shot.
@@badmoose01 wow you're responding to a comment from 3 years ago 😂 but yeah I got a 16:9 monitor (old 60hz one from my dad's attic) then bought a 144hz one shortly after so I've had a double monitor setup since then :)

Haha, true! But I guess marketing? Bigger numbers have greater appeal, but also make sense since 16:9 isn't divisible by any common whole number. So, marketing an ultrawide as 7:3 would seem to consumers like some kind of downgrade. #PsychologicalMarketing
Both Arno and Edgar are right. Everyone is familiar with 16:9 so a 7:3 sounds smaller, a 21:9 can quickly be distinguished as “oh, it’s a bit wider than a 16:9.”

In my opinion, stuff like recording streaming etc. I feel like only having one large monitor isn’t always good for streaming and recording, reasons like not being able to have two things on ur screen at once (without going out of full screen or alt tabbing) and for streaming like reading chat or seeing obs be be worse with 1 monitor and the sie doesn’t matter if u only have 1 monitor. I would say if you would like to multitask while in full screen but still have that fov get an ultra wide and a cheap normal second monitor,
Centric you are handsome fellow; I chose an ultrawide because as a designer/digital painter, the 21:9 ratio really makes it easy to have all the things I will need on screen at one time, instead of switching between windows. I have to pass on the curved screen though, I need my lines to be straight.
I prefer dual monitors( 16:9). I enjoy playing games while having a video on my left screen. And a lot of games that i enjoy are terrible on ultrawide monitors. I tried ultrawides but switched back to 16:9. It was just more practical for me.
I was suppose to be an 16:9 fan , Because its good playing competitive games like dota 2 but man i bought the Acer ED347CKR for half price compare to other brands and the monitor is perfect its free sync but i been playing games without g - sync and the monitors seems fine without it. I'm more worried about quality of my display but this monitor display quality is very good.

I was very close to buying either the Acer Predator 34X or the Asus ROG SWIFT PG348Q, but then I heard about the announcement of the Predator 35X and a new Asus coming in the horizon. I think you covered one of those monitors in an earlier video you made. At this point, do you think it's worth just waiting for those new releases? Or should I still consider purchasing what's in stores now? I know the new ones will have HDR, G-SYNC, and 200hz refresh rate, which is pretty awesome. I've got a great machine with 1080ti, just want to take full advantage of it with a better display. Thanks for reading and thanks in advance if you answer my question.

Ultrawide all day! I could never ever go back to 16:9
Gear Seekers can't. It feels so good
how is it when watching movie's?
actually the human eye is about a 160 degree FOV so it couls handle near 45:9 or higher.
Earthplayer A LITERAL HORIZONTAL FOV OF 160 DEGREES NOT IN-GAME.
Earthplayer like take 160 degrees on a protractor and apply it to your eyes and BAM 160 degree field of view.
I've got an LG 34 inch ultrawide and I love it! I can't see myself ever going back to a 16:9 panel.
The answer is yes. 21:9 is King for sure. At least for me. Love that extra fov :)
