I stopped buying after 2020. There were a couple big years in there, to be fair, but not enough for me to keep paying $60 a year for.

I wouldn’t expect my team to change under ea, with Fifa they just add tiny new bits each year for career mode
Knowing EA they'll remove features and add them back years later as a selling point

That’s why i am considering skipping this year’s game. My Team, which is where most of the time is spent, looks like the same thing but with a new coat of paint and red flags, which who knows how often they come up.
Braking Point looks fun but once it’s done it’s done and it’s never touched again.

@@renatop2610 yep no reason for me to get this at launch, maybe if there is a major sale at like 75% off, but this game hasn’t sold me a reason to buy it. Can just wait for it to be added to gamepass otherwise
As with every year, Ben, the answers you give in the interview affects your starting car. If you answer them all, you'll be placed in the middle of the pecking order (at least as far as the performance index goes, on track performance is another thing). There is a 'no comment' option, and if you choose that, you will be right at the bottom of the list with zero upgrades pre-installed.
Nice to see F1 22.5. Literally nothing in my team changed.

@@luuduonghy659 Having played it myself, the new handling is a big deal, as well as the AI not turning in on you as if you're not there as frequently. Compared to F1 22, the handling on the new game is so much better. VR also runs smoother and is higher graphics quality (though I am very aware that for 90% of players, this won't make a difference). Also bare in mind that Codemasters recently acquired the WRC license and are currently producing WRC 23, so the devs are split between two games plus whatever else Codies is cooking up in the background.
I agree though, it does suck that there's not been a great deal of changes otherwise. Hopefully they'll keep this handling model with a few tweaks and they'll focus more on actually providing content for next year's game.

I just got a wheel this year for the first time for an F1 game ever. I hit time trials to "learn how to drive" and get a feel for braking and power delivery with no assists for the first time ever as well.
After I managed a 105.5 at Austria and a 132 flat at Bahrain, I headed into My Team. The My Team car is so different. The setup I had for time trial I had to tweak. I literally spent hours getting a setup right for me. Its very lock resistant and tolerant of power delivery, no assists (except automatic, its been hard enough to learn braking and accelerating without shifting in the picture, so that'll come later, I do downshift myself into corners to help slow the car, auto shifts down to slow).
I started on AI 94, I couldn't even make the program targets. I redid my team and chose a new AI level, 90. (unable to change the AI level unless you're in very specific parts of the game is very frustrating, I dont understand why its like that). I was just making the times, except for quali sim. Barely scraped in a 132 flat and they wanted a 129-5 for quali.
I qualified 15th or 16th, cant recall, and teammate, Ollie Caldwell, 19th.
Race is a whole different story to having the track to yourself but I'm gonna take that on today. I got starts down pat but not at all used to the AI.
I will be turning to your videos a lot as this tired old gamer struggles to mix it with the big boys. Also joined your discord finally.
I noticed your grid call made the same error, in mine it named Piastri twice, but made the error on the same place, 22nd.
Such a shame that we are still no able to choose chassis types when there are so many different sidepod and wing solutions out there... The stock car always look like crap

What would be dope for next games my team, is a variety of fom car designs to select from. Say a RB looking car, a Ferrari type or a Merc type looking car. At least then your car looks more like a real F1 car than some basic shape that they still use. Will be cool if your choice of design gives your car some pre selected upgrades. For example, if you select a RB style, you'll start your career with a tyre wear upgrade, if you select a Ferrari style, you'll start with a downforce upgrade, if you select a Merc you get a energy recovery or durability upgrade for example. And if there's a major aero or chassis rules reset, you get an option to change your car style without affecting the upgrades you got from your initial choice, keeping any style changes purely cosmetic after the initial choice, feel like it will keep the game feeling fresh as you progress through seasons

whats really impressed me about this game, i started my F1 Driver Career with Ferrari today and did Round 1 and Round 2. In both rounds, I was on the front row less than a tenth off Max Verstappen. In the race tho, I was struggling to keep the Mercedes at a 2.5 distance and Max was gaining around 2-5 tenths a lap. It's so accurate to the point that Ferrari is great in Quali but only a podium sitter in the race! Loving Day 1! Having so much fun!!
Looking forward to watching this series, gonna be huge! 😅 Think the reason you where mid table on R&D was because you bought the Ferrari Engine!
Still a shame Konnersport isn’t able to be an AI team in MyTeam

I selected newcomer for My Team as well and I checked after the 1st race (Because I finished 6th and was sceptical) and I was almost midfield. Very confusing. The bottom 5/6 teams are all so close.

yeah I want to be a backmarker to begin with, not a midfield team, i wanna work my way up. past F1 games have made the progression way too easy and I always end up starting again because even on top difficulty im challneging for podiums in the first half of rhe first season when I want to be mostly out of the points to begin with

They really need to have like an open world rpg paddock next year, walking from the paddock to motor home to garage and interviews ect, have the option of skipping it if that's what you prefer but they really need to freshen it up, getting very stale now.
Honestly, I like the whole team and car, but the livery gives me indycar vibes, not a bad thing but it's very indycar-esque, I love the videos, long term subscriber, would love a new youtuber championship.
