"Thank you so much for your heartfelt comment! 🙏 It's truly uplifting to know that my arrangement of 'A Mighty Fortress' resonated with you. Indeed, we are blessed to be reminded of God's never-failing love through this timeless hymn. May His love continue to inspire and uplift us. Many blessings to you! ✨🕊" - John
Praise God for our great Reformers and the Reformation of the Christian Faith! Wonderful to hear a great hymn of the faith on this magnificient instrument! I have been truly blessed by this on Reformation Weekend! Sola Deo Gloria!
As a lifelong Lutheran, I've heard this hymn quite often, however, never with such regal beauty as it is given here! Praise God for such heavenly talent!
Thank you so much. Sorry for so late a response, I did not know my comments were turned off until today. Lots of catching up... Thank God for forgiveness :)
I do not seem to hear this in church as much as I would like, but the times that I do, it is a sign of prayers being answered or a special blessing I might be asking for. Happened this weekend at Mass. Love this version so much.
thank you for this beautiful hymn. with all the stuff happening, mucho relevant today as it was in the past. Done with much reverence and joy. CHeeeRsss!!!
"Thanks a lot for the love! 'A Mighty Fortress' really is a special hymn. Glad you enjoyed it! Any favorite parts or ideas for my next piece? Would love to hear your thoughts!"
It is so sad that today's young people and middle age also will never appreciate the sound of a song like this or even feel the power of God. They are so lost in this world and so many never get chance to enjoy music and the power it has.
I've heard a lot of great music from the pipe organ in my day. You have a great talent, this is by far, the best I've ever heard. Wonderful job! Keep this great work flowing. God will certainly have you playing in heaven one day. All Glory and Thanks Be To God.
This is my favorite arrangement of this hymn for the pipe organ on RUclips! So many of them are "interpretations" which demonstrate the organist's skill, but in which the original hymn can hardly be found. Yours is played as well as any of them, yet lets the truth and power of this song speak for itself. Well done.
I can't believe this is my first time hearing this - this is my favorite hymn, and this arrangement for solo organ took my breath away! We have a very talented organist friend and plan on using this as the postlude for our wedding ceremony in a few months. Thank you for sharing your gifts, God bless you!
Thank you so much for your heartfelt comment! I'm truly honored to hear that my arrangement resonated with you so deeply, especially as it's your favorite hymn. It's wonderful to know that it will be part of such a special moment in your life - your wedding ceremony. I wish you and your future spouse a lifetime of happiness and love. May your wedding day be as beautiful and harmonious as the music that fills it. Blessings to you both!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! 'Jai Shree Ram' is a beautiful expression of devotion. Music has a wonderful way of connecting us across different cultures and beliefs. 🙏 Wishing you peace and joy!
Thank you for sharing your delightful improvisation of this wonderful hymn - moments like this where God and music walk hand in hand..... “Music is a fair and glorious gift from God. I am strongly persuaded that after theology there is no art than can be placed on a level with music; for besides theology, music is the only art capable of affording peace and joy of the heart.” ~Martin Luther~
Thank you for this. I first heard this On the children’s show Davey and Goliath when I was young. How beautiful on pipe organ. I’ve asked my family to play this piece when I pass.
Wow! This is awesome! It's been my favorite hymn since I was a teenager and remains so to this day. I've played it on the organ too. But nothing beats a pipe organ for awesome sound!
Thank you so much. I'm sorry but your comments just showed up. I had no idea that my comments were turned off. I apologize for the extremely late response.
My that is Beautiful! Praise God! What a gift you were blessed with which you use to the Glory of God and to bless and inspire others. I love organ music and wish I could play--I bet it is the most difficult instrument to learn.
Thank you for your kind comments. It's never too late to start taking lessons. I once had an organ student who was in her early 70s and determined to learn to play.
Don't you all understand....this is the soundtrack of the Day of Our Lord, of the day when He comes, the day when we rest secured in the arms of those who have gone on before us, nevermore to grieve.
Thanks. I recently recorded a "short" video of my playing an abbreviated version of "A Mighty Fortress." It's scheduled to be released on August 9. I wanted to send you a sneak preview, but RUclips said the video had to remain private until the 9th. Anyway, thanks for your reply.
Best solo organ version I have heard! For anyone who wants to read the words while listening: "A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing; Our helper He, amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing: For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe; His craft and power are great, and, armed with cruel hate, On earth is not his equal. Did we in our own strength confide, our striving would be losing; Were not the right Man on our side, the Man of God’s own choosing: Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He; Lord Sabaoth, His Name, from age to age the same, And He must win the battle. And though this world, with devils filled, should threaten to undo us, We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us: The Prince of Darkness grim, we tremble not for him; His rage we can endure, for lo, his doom is sure, One little word shall fell him. That word above all earthly powers, no thanks to them, abideth; The Spirit and the gifts are ours through Him Who with us sideth: Let goods and kindred go, this mortal life also; The body they may kill: God’s truth abideth still, His kingdom is forever."
@@johnmarquardt1991 John those ARE the words on Martin Luther, albeit translated into English for those of us who don't have the renaissance German. John Marquardt, correct, and the original violent words were mostly from Luther himself, an acknowledged Jew Hater who wrote “Of Jews And Their Lies” in which he called on the provinces of Germany) to confiscate their homes and savings, and force them to live outside the cities in tent encampments. Wow this was a beautiful arrangement. Written by the great Martin Luther during such a trialing time. We don’t hear the organ much these days and it’s sad that it’s a dying instrument to so many. I wish I knew how to play it. I play the piano by ear only. It’d probably be hard to do so on a classic organ because the sound comes out slightly after hitting the keys.
You are very kind. This hymn has always been my favorite, and I just imagine the majesty and power of Christ, as a fortress so super imposing and majestic, but also so powerful
