Didn’t realise how good this man was until the World Cup. Unbelievable. And after watching Faz week in week out for Saracens for the last 15 years, he is close to the best English player or all time. You don’t realise how good he is and the impact he has on the team and the match he is playing in until he’s not there.
What utter rubbish. I could name 10 better England players....Rory Underwood, Richard Hill, Lawrence Dallaglio, Jonny Wilkinson, Martin Johnson, Ben Cohen, Jason Robinson, Mike Teague, Jerry Guscott, David Duckham.

And if you want me to explain his deficiencies...his tackling and discipline is a liability....he can't play an attacking, passing game hence having to play at12....even his goal kicking tapered off....and he kicks the ball too much from hand...apart from that he's brilliant.
To be fair he has got better every year he's played. Somehow.

You posted a list of your own great English players who some could also be amongst the greatest England has produced . All from a different era from Farrell and like the previous poster based on your opinion.
Then you generalise on Farrells discipline tackling etc which if you consider over his career is excellent and hardly an overall team liability.
I love how you say he cannot attack bu which I think you mean breaking tackles or running in tries ignoring his primary role as a distributing #10. Then accusing him of just kicking just expises you of not understanding the role of #10 in implementing a teams game plan. Such as England at the rwc.
It must be mystifying how Sarries have had constantly over the years one of the best attacks and try scorers in the Premiership .
Ultimately it doesn't matter if you like or dislike Farrell. But dont think gor one minute your owning anyone else's opinion with just your own ppinoon and lazy generalisations of his player

I bumped into Courtney once while having a tattoo done, he was in the chair opposite me. As you can imagine I lasted about 2 min before I said bro I’m sorry but I’m gonna fan boy for the next few hrs.. it was just before the lions tour to NZ which he missed in due to injury, I told him, your gonna be an icon mate, sign here I’m getting it tattooed, ‘if your sure he said’.. damn right I’m sure your gonna retire as a legend of the game mate! Now he’s a decorated England and lions player who’s captained club and country, will be remembered as one of the hardest hitting tacklers, one of the most agile second rows ever to play the game… do I regret my tattoo? Fuck no I don’t… if I could eBay it I’d make a fortune.. he’s an icon of the game! Just like I said he would be… in fact perhaps because I made that prediction.. I must have been his inspiration… at least that’s what I’m telling myself lol😂

I can see Courtney going as the captain of the Lions as there are not too many options - Next season 6 nations Peter O'Marney will struggle to keep out Ryan Baird , Jamie George likewise Langdon / Dan , Finn Russell best number 10 but not a good captain and Jenkins not sure of his place with the likes of Beirne / McCartney / Maro / Martin / Gilcrest
Can’t see it. Neither Lawes or Farrell will be playing in next seasons 6 nations, which will count against them both, as nothing replicated top level international rugby. I think Caelen Doris might just get it 🤔

Money. And less intense than the Top14 which as he’s getting older could be good and could allow him to play longer. Plus if they do well promotion is a great feeing.
First, Brive is no shit, it's an historical club which hometown is 100% rugby. Second, the club may come back to Top 14 this very same season.
This said, it's crazy to think that a Pro D2 team can reach and offer this great player a premiership salary. Big big difference between France and England is that our second scale is very very competitive and is rewarded with one or two Top 14 tickets each year. Good luck to him!
My bad, they lost to Béziers in quarters, a far more historical French team. So yes it will be pro D2 for him...

Delighted for Lawes he has had such a fantastic season and is now getting recognition for the quality player he is.
Regarding Faz, fans will either love or hate him based on their own perception of what they think he is like . Fans are emotional by nature and hardly rational .
Lawes is the latest in the litany of players like Kolisi, Sexton, Biggar, Hogg, Beaudon Barratt, hamish watson, Aki Bundi, Sam Whitelock, Keiran Read, Koch, AWJ, POM, KEarls, Liam Williams not to mention fellow England and Saracens players that hold Faz in high regard .
The difference in judgment of an individual like Faz and his character based on a perception by certain fans based on their own perceptopn and emotional feeling and herd narrative compared with how actual players who know him regard him as a plsyer and a person is sadly mo longer surprising startling and pretty sad.
Love all your RUclips stuff Tim but why is this interview so Farrell centric. Go all the way to Courtney’s home and fair enough touch on his Saints career but hardly do it justice.
