    Further drain on public funds. For a small country like Singapore, firstly why is there a need for 80+ MPs. Secondly if these MPs are not competent that they need the support of ministers of state and a whole plethora of civil servants then they should not be in the post. It is a complete waste of public funds. That is probably the only reason for the need to keep raising the GST, the ERP, tax on utilities, on petrol etc etc. Thus continuously raising the cost of living.

    “Not only do PAP MPs work part-time, they use residents’ money to outsource to managing agents the work they are supposed to do. Managing agents are private, profit-making agencies. They add another layer of expenses for residents,” Dr Chee said.

      We must not allow liars and cheats like the Democratic Party in Singapore to form the next government because their policies only look good on paper. Mr Chiam once said that a good and effective opposition should not go around the world denoncing Singaporean. we need red dot united, not the sdp.

    “Your day job requires you to deal with problems in the office - in Mr Murali’s case, matters regarding his legal practice - that are psychologically and emotionally taxing. You are mentally tired after 10 hrs at work. No individual can extend their full attention and tend to the people’s business after that.”

      @martinmisty866 What about the Opposition MPs who have full time jobs eg Pritam Singh, Jamus Lim etc. Are they not mentally tired? Can they extend their full attention and tend to the people's buisness after that. Appreciate a honest and truthful answer. NO LIES PLEASE. Opposition supporters should not LIE.

    LW made many promises to his peers and broke most in a single Cabinet reshuffle. Factions within the PAP, who were betrayed by LW, should gather support and challenge LW's new appointment as PM. KS, CCS, OYK, JT, CHT, etc should rally support from PAP MPs and call for a motion of no confidence on LW immediately after the swearing in ceremony. It would be another 20 years before anyone else has a chance at the top job if LW succeeds. I'm sure many PAP MPs want the top job.

  • @martinmisty866

    It was also argued that the PAP’s policies have failed or have been shortsighted, as indeed Mr Lee himself admitted during and after the 2011 general election.

    It is the decline of which I've reiterated in several of my comments regarding the state of politics in Singapore. With 12 years of experience in the polictical arena he is not a appropriate candidate as a PM. He entered the polictical world when he was 40 and now he is 52. The 1st 5 years he did grass roots work and after that he was plunged in to some important positions in the parliament and mind you he was not even the 1st choice candidate for the PM position. With this resume he is expected to run the country with perfection and bring it to the next level. Do you think he has the capability to do it ? That is why PAP is doing all the propaganda regarding his character and capabilitys. The leat 3 PM doesn't need any of these as we all know what is their forte. Sorry to say that before the announcement of him being the next PM I dont even know him. Can he handle the geopolitics that is becoming a danger to SEA. Look like he will be a total failure. I've been through the last PM and our predecessors are way much better than him.

      You seem to be an expert political analyst. The easiest way to make sure that LW does not stay as PM for a long time is for you to join an opposition party and contest the coming elections. Win the elections with a strong majority, and become the PM yourself. This way you can ensure that he does not become the PM after the elections. Just my two cents worth. No offence meant.

    • @BlossomChan-ip1tq
      @BlossomChan-ip1tq 25 дней назад

      I'm no political expert analyst, like what I've mentioned earlier every lay man in the coffee shop knows about these political views so that means all of them can contest in the elections. As for myself I definitely can't do it alone cos u need to win by majority even if I win in my own constituency as a independent candidate it is still not sufficient topple him. So I need to set up a opposition party to contest him. If u are willing to be my partner to do it then it will be a good idea as your suggestion sounds good but I sincerely appreciate that u can do more leg work in the coming elections cos I'm quite old already. It will be very taxing for me. Just a suggestion for political enthusiast. No offence. Thank you

    • @jer2911.L
      @jer2911.L 25 дней назад

      @@BlossomChan-ip1tq But you sound like a professional political analyst. Anyway the coffee shop layman knows next to nothing. All they do is gossip and spread rumours. So if you can't do it, then we have to accept that LW will be the PM for the foreseeable future. No one knows what the future brings. Maybe, just maybe LW could be a very credible PM based on the way he handled the Covid together with Mr. Gan. As for me, I have zero interest in politics and as long as the country is doing all right is enough for me. Majulah Singapura.
