14 years into the future: This is the only thing that has helped me so far. The relief really comes fast and as an aspiring artist, my hand is curretnly setting me into panic-mode on a frequent basis. Oh well.
Gonna try doing the exercise on a regular basis from now on! c:
Hell yeah good to hear! Just doing these stretches for the first time i can tell they're working on my problem areas. Mainly that 3rd exercise. Let's hope continuously doing them solves the problem altogether
Is it working?
Coming back after nine years, I can confirm this is also pretty much the only thing that worked for me, both in 2014 and ever since.
The fact that you're doing this in the woods relaxes me so much, lol.
I bookmarked or saved this about 7 years ago and I keep coming to this video. Thanks!
Awesome, that's great to hear!
You haven't healed in 7 years???
I feel so hopeful now
Same. I keep coming back because im graphic designer/illustrator and it comes back a lot.
omg, the relief is immediate! thank you so much!!! i've been in pain for weeks. ice didn't help, a heating pad didn't help, a brace didn't help, and pain killers were only a temporary fix. doing these stretches gave my wrist instant relief!!! i will definitely be doing these every day from now on!
Ive had bad tendonitits on and off for the last six months, been using antiinflamitory medication and deep heat, theses exercises have just baout cleared all symptoms, im back to pumping iron again, thanks man, you are a lifesaver!!!!!
If only one of the three doctors i saw could have shown me these exercises !!!!!
These are great. I'm a pianist, knitter, and crocheter, and these stretches feel so good after I've been crafting or playing the piano for awhile.
You've just saved the livelihoods of so many artists. Thanks.
What's it like knowing that this video has helped people for over a decade? Cause I think it's pretty damn neat :)
13 years and counting!
hello from 14 years in the future! I've done these stretches twice so far, and every time I do, my arms feel AMAZING aftwerwards! Thank you very much for the amazing tutorial!
David, thank you so much for sharing these great exercises with us. I’m 62, a drummer, and work at a computer all day and my thumb, wrists and hands have been so painful I’ve had to cut back practicing almost 100%. Thank you again my friend. Kind Regards, Tom Pollock😊
You're a life saver, I've had tendonitis for a month now and my doctor told my to use a brace but it didn't show any signs of progressing, so i looked up another way of healing tendonitis and i found out all these exercises work! I've never had this in my life so i didn't know there was another way, God bless you man.
So did they work?
@@theradionicrevival8068 yeah they worked for me
So much better already. Thank you for this video. I've been in horrible pain for 3 weeks and this is the first thing that's brought any real relief.
I am an artist and a gamer and this is the best set of exercises I've found to eliminate my carpal tunnel. I send this video to everyone.
You eliminated your carpal tunnel? Yikes!
Graphics_Dev what you mean?
@@RahulMeena-zj3tt carpal tunnel is a part of the wrist. Eliminating it would mean something very bad. However, eliminating the carpal tunnel _syndrome_ is good!
this is the kind of stuff we should have like.. an hour in school per week about, maybe as part of PE. you know, acutally keeping people fit, instead of grading them based on their physical ability
THIS COMMENT WAS A YEAR AGO BUT AMEN TO THAT.
Was myself thinking exactly the same thing this very morning.
Dude, if only I had found this video years ago! I have had forearm problems for ages but have yet to have been given the right advice until now. Thanks a million from a chronic tendonitis sufferer!!
Hi,
I'm an artist/architect who either draws or uses mouse all day long. I have been having wrist pain for years when I work too much. It usually went away after resting for a few days, but for two days it's been unbearable. I found your video and just did the exercises, pain is lighter now and I'm sure it'll go away soon. Already feeling better. Thank you so much!
You, sir, are awesome. I'm an artist but I have arthritis and sometimes my hands ache. These actually made me feel so much better - thank you!
I didn't realize how sore my wrist was until I tried the first stretch! Thanks for the help
I've been a freelance illustrator for years, and that third tendonitis exercise hit the very spot I've been having a lot of pain and tension in for so very long. Thank you so much! I can feel a lot less pressure in my hands, wrists, and arms now, even after just one session of each exercise.
THANK YOU!! I have been doing your stretches for a couple of months and I have noticed massive improvements!
I feel very loose and relaxed and ready for bed now after a long night at the computer. Thank you for this!
dude what kind of last name is corpse lol
Would be cool if her first name was "Living" Or somthig like that :D
Oh my god I didn't know my wrists could feel this good. The stretching feels soooooooooooooo good.
Many thanks, sir. You are a gentleman and a scholar and you've done many, many people a good service.
Literally sitting here crying at my desk because this is the first thing to relieve any of my pain in weeks. I've been stalling on seeing a physical therapist because I've felt hopeless and now I think I can do it :)
Omg you saved my life I’ve dealing with this in both my arms for a year and it was hell. This realllllly helped thank you so much
As an artist who draws for a living, and has hereditary wrist problems, this is a friggin LIFE SAVER. I wish I'd known about this years ago!
Thank you so much! I have multiple wrist issues from computer use, and this truly helps.
Incidentally, I think you meant to consult a physician (a medical doctor), not a physicist (a scientist who studies physics)
Thank you for taking the time to make this. Already feels much better.
i saw your video about a year ago. looked it up now to show to a friend and i have to say that this did wonders for me!!
thanks for this, i draw a lot so i hope these will keep me in good shape for years to come
There's also some good prevention exercises in this resource...
www.amazon.com/Treat-Your-Carpal-Tunnel-Syndrome/dp/1457525771/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426537569&sr=8-1&keywords=carpal+tunnel+jim
There are a few factors in treating carpal tunnel syndrome naturally. One resource I discovered that successfully combines these is the Dariks Pain Destroyer (check it out on google) without a doubt the best resource that I have ever seen. look at all the incredible information .
Yessss! I wish I knew this before those long studio nights of animating. My wrist started to cramp up hella bad after that
I felt it right away too. Thanks for putting so much time into figuring out what stretches help relieve the discomfort immediately. I can see how regularly stretching the hands forearms can make a world of difference, thanks David
This worked for me! After having Xrays, cortisone injections for my painful tendonitis, doing these exercises provided instant relief for my hand after living with it for about 1.5 months. Thanks for this video!! Try it people, this is for free. This saved me money from visiting the physical therapist.
THANK YOU, David! This gave me relief right away! I cut hair for a living, so this information is AWESOME! you seem like a mellow , cool dude :)
Stretches begin at 0:50 and continue at 3:30.
I'm a butcher and a bass player, you've just saved both of my passions. vielen dank!
I have been referencing this video almost since it was posted. I always come back to it and it always helps, thank you!
Tried this along with the video and the stretching felt good on my hands and arms Thanks! :D
love the scenic location and decision to film during the golden hour
Instant relief, especially the last one! Thank you so much!
Much better than the exercises I have seen elsewhere. Thanks
I was told that artists should do these before they draw to prevent problems in the future- so! Thank you.
i draw for hours so my right hand can hurt badly, i've started doing these excercises during breaks and before sleeping and it's getting better :)
What relief! The stretching pain is intense but the relief is incredible. The first two exercises were the most effective for me, personally. Thank you.
Oh these are just superb. I'm a digital designer who regularly spends 10 hours a day on the machine and these are going to be built into my daily routine. Huge amount of thanks. I'll post to the design forum I hang out in.
How often a day should you do these?
Yas Now I can play osu for hours
I'm using these exercises for the past 6 years and they helped me a so much when I draw a lot! Thank you!
Thank you. In less than five minutes you have greatly influenced my life. I'll be sure to pass this video around. I am only 17 and from now on I'll be sure to show this to people so they can prevent CTS and Tendonitis from happening in the first place. Thank you so much.
How can I like this twice?
Really! I play a lot of guitar and my hand/wrist don't always feel so great, but these stretches make them WAY better!
You press like, then un-press like, then press like again. Or you can create two google accounts and like with each account.
@@Kurchack I like how you actually offered valid ways to do this 😂
Wow, thanks for so much. I had been suffering with - what I was told was carpal tunnel syndrome, then I saw your video and started doing your exercises, within two days the pain in my hand started to subside and within a week - it was like a miracle. Today I went to see the Consultant and was told that my carpal tunnel is resolved. Why doesn't anyone tell you its this simple instead of giving painkillers and anti inflammatories for months on end. Thanks again
This has been a HUGE help! Thank you!
Been dealing with wrist tendonitis/carpel tunnel for about 6 months now. Thanks for the useful exercises. I had some exercises I've been doing already, but yours are very clear/focussed and I appreciate them. Thanks!
ill be sure to ask my physicist, im sure he'll be able to knock out an equation that will help my hand :P
step 1: stop playing osu
Mkx for me :/
***** I'm addicted. everything hurts
Cody Dixon Yeah that will do it. I got my RSI from a game where you have to keep attacking by hammering the button. It goes away and comes back all the time. Playing games like MKX makes it worse and it never really goes away fully.
+dinopwn17 lmao this is me.
I've quit gaming. Until my hand is fully healed, even then, only in moderation.
This was great help and a great addition to the podcast. Thanks!
this is going to sound repetitive to a lot of other replies here...but this worked. I was suffering for about two weeks in uncomfortable pain, then I did some stretching exercises and instantly I felt better, and now about two days later I feel 100%. Thank you!
I’m a chef. These exercises have worked for me ever since I first discovered this video. Thank you for sharing!
These are probably the most amazing exercises I've ever seen. Thank you!
OMG. I've been suffering for the past couple of days with newly developed tendinitis. Someone told me to look up stretches, it had never occurred to me that you could stretch this area- it's such a small awkward place on your hand. I found this video and OMG it felt so good to do these stretches. First time doing it and already feels 10x better!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
I just came back to this video after stopping these exercises for a while. I find this helps with pains and aches I get from both playing my frame drum and my mandolin. Great job David.
grandissimo!!! ho risolto in 2 settimane!!!! GRAZIE
thanks a lot david!!!
you are doing a REALLY good job with this framedrum podcasts!
I seriously can't believe how this has helped! I have been having issues from drawing for so many years, and so my wrist had been giving me issues. This is a game changer.
OMG thank you for this I have been crippled with tendinitis for 6 weeks.......went to my Dr today he was of course no help.......the only physiotherapist in our town is out on sick leave........so I was desperate enough to go on utube....... but this worked within seconds the pain was gone...... it's amazing to me how something as simple as a few stretches can bring me such relief..........thank you :)
Finally tried these after someone linked them, and it is WAY more awesome than I expected! Thank you!
This video is so helpful for me who've got wrist injury while lifting bariatric patient in the hospital as a nurse. Thank you . David
I've been suffering for weeks now, I'm 8+ mos pregnant, and getting comfortable is not easy. I've tried everything! These excercises have been the best! I had my first full night of sleep with minimal disruption, and saw improvement right away. Now, I do them several times a day!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! :0)
been suffering badly from tendinitis for 5 years and these expertises gave me instant pain relief. thank you sir
These stretches relieved every pain I've felt within the day - thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you so much for this. I've been doing this three weeks and I feel so much better...
This is an old video but still a favorite, it’s really quick and has great instructions for each exercise.
Thank you very much David. I am starting today! Your choice of nature as the background is extra wonderful. XO
thank you man in the woods from 2008 these stretches felt the best for my pain so far
Danke vielmals! Die ersten mit die Daumen sind für mich unglaublich.
These exercises helped me tremendously. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much for sharing these. These have helped so much over the last year....much appreciated!
My husband sent me a link to this video last year after my tendonitis was diagnoses and the stretches really helped with my pain. Now, in a lot of pain again I searched for your video so I could use it again.
Thanks for sharing these videos with us, they're a huge help!!!
worked for me. Thanks David!
I remember catching this video on one of my RSS feeds awhile back and thought this was great. Recently have been getting alot of pain in my hand and wrist due to work and have been trying these exercises in earnest now and they have helped me so much, THANK YOU!
Thanks, David. I am learning frame drums and there's always something to learn from your videos.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and helping us get better
This really helps with pain I get in my wrist after playing a very intensive game for a while. Thanks a bundle!
Thank you for making this video. It's a lot easier when you can see the exercise. Lots of pain but getting better.
I'm a digital artist who started showing signs of carpal tunnel a month and a half ago. I started doing these stretches plus a few others I found online and in about a week my pain levels were reduced dramatically. I can keep up my work now without slowing down, so I just wanted to say thank you for this video, it really helped me.
wow, seriously, thank you so much. after trying each exercise just once i can already tell these will make a huge difference to my life.
thank you!!!
I used to do exercises similar to the last set.
Now that I think about it, my problems really started when I stopped doing them.
I'm going to do these every day, and definitely each time before I play!
Thanks for sharing!
My wrist has been in pain for about 3 weeks...I did these exercises as I watched the video and experienced some instant relief. I'll most definately continue these exercises..Thanks David :)
thanks for telling your own story about having tendonitis - it's wonderful to do these exercises with confidence, knowing that they helped you.
Thank you so much for this, I've been in constant pain for the last 5 weeks, and it's actually relieved some of it. Thank you!
I'm a knitter and of late haven't been able to knit at all due to pain in my hands. No stretches were working for me. But I just did this series of stretches and I'm amazed! I'm going to take your advice and do this several times today ... maybe I can finish this blanket I started knitting by end of next week! THANK YOU so much for posting this! Life saver!
I refer to this video all the time. Thank you so much!
I thought I knew all the wrist stretches, but some of these were new to me. I've only done them twice each and I feel a difference already. Thanks!
I did 2 sets of these exercises right before i went to bed and no pain throughout the night or morning. RUclips viewers are relentless when it comes to comments and seeing how all the comments ive seen are positive, thats how you know these work :)
Holy crap, thank you so much. This started helping after my first set of each stretches. Thank you!
David, this works great! Thank you.
ah man, that downwards hands stretching your thumb one is amazing. Felt it help instantly, thank you so much!
Looked this up again specifically because my wrist is hurting bad. Feels so much better now, thank you for making this video!
Thanks a lot David!
Just found this, and I've going to do more of this now, thank you!
your are the greatest. Thanks David.
