It’s not a detour. Any time a foreign line train operates over CSX on trackage rights they are given a Z train symbol. This is a trackage rights arrangement where NS runs over CSX to access their yard.
@@GIMRRC Okay, thanks for the clarification. Some years back, Pentrex released a 'Sunrise to Sunset' video (Volume 3) covering that exact location, and every single train operating through there at the time was CSX. That's why I thought the NS trains were detoured.
Much obliged for the video, Greg.
Hi how do you get there and where in Cincinnati is this place I’ve herd of it
It's called Canal Ridge next to I75
19:45 I didn't think there were many airslide hoppers still in regular service. You usually just see them as buffer cars.
Please comment I’ve been to Glendale Ohio but never here
Look up Winton Place on Google Maps
11:30 he's smoking
A lot of NS trains running with CSX 'Z' symbols through there. Makes me wonder what happened on NS to force them to detour their trains over CSX.

When Conrail ran the Cinci line from Columbus we had to go the train designation they gave us and not our actual symbol.
Even if you leave Gest St. to go the 3rd main owned by NS you still have to cross their mains to get there. Hence a Z number.
