- Join myself and A.L.N. from the one man doomed, atmospheric, black metal band Mizmor on Thursday, 5/18/23 @7:00 PM EST on Gas Masks & Hand Grenades. I’ve been aware of Mizmor since early 2020 after I checked out the latest album Cairn on Gilead Media. I recall digging it a good bit, but as we had just headed into lockdown there was an overwhelming amount of time to explore music I hadn’t had before and I lost the plot and never ended up picking the album up… Flash foreword to April 2023 and after seeing Mizmor perform (there is a live collective for performances) at Decibelfest, I was suitably impressed and decided I wanted to learn more about the man, his music, his vision, his pain, and the things that drive him to create, a few of which I seem to also have very profound experiences with, such as anxiety, depression, and insomnia … I am hopeful this is going to lead to a deep and interesting dialog with A.L.N. So join us and show him and his music some serious love on Thursday night !

Absolutely adore Mizmor, has quickly become one of my favourite acts ever. 'Cairn to God' was such a head turner for me and 'Prosaic' is a big contender for AOTY 2024! Great interview folks.

"Don't go the pill route if you can afford to not do it".. I can relate to the anxiety conversation very much. Nervous you may be talking about Benzo's.. I literally don't function without them my anxiety is so intense. It's absolutely hellish. I take only one a day (clonazepam). Doctor tells me it's fine, but I have my doubts..
I’d like to say many things here but I don’t want to terrify you and My experience might not be what yours is. Suffice it to say that’s what my Dr said and he was dead wrong and that particular medication you mentioned has ruined my life … wish I didn’t have to tell you that. I understand the difficulty in coping with life on a daily basis with extreme anxiety it is hell on Earth, however, those medications (you named them) are fucking poisons to your brain and CNS I am sorry to say… at least in my case they were and they’ve lead ( in my opinion as I can’t prove it definitively, but I know what I know if you get my drift ) me to the terminal illness I am dying from now…. I’m very sorry to have to respond in this fashion to your comment … if you hit me up privately on IG we can discuss more freely … IF and only if that’s something you are comfortable with . My heart goes out to you believe me, I know m, i’ve been there and it’s crushed me in so many ways people have no clue …
@@GMHG777 Thank you for your response. I was afraid that may have been the case, and I am very sorry for your situation.. I don't currently use Instagram. I am barely on social media. I have a very hard time with taking photo's of myself, so I tend to avoid it. But I will probably try and make another one soon and send you a message.

comfortable you don’t have to feel like it’s necessary to contact me privately but this stuff isn’t stuff I want you to have to deal with in such a public way as it’s a difficult subject to cope with as it is. If you need someone to listen or to help you understand what these meds can do to you I’m the guy trust me !
Cairn was one of my favorite discoveries of 2019. I was on a hunt for black/doom since my favorite music genre is black metal, and you typically find more death/doom than black/doom. Maybe I'll make my own black/doom someday fairly soon. Worm, Unholy and Mizmor are three of the only ones I can really think of. I always appreciate how you pick their brain rather than the boring drivel a lot of interviewers do. Cheers Geoff.
