This is the most important and informative video that I’ve seen in years! My husband and I suffer from exactly what you described: fissures, hemorrhoids, etc.
My husband had surgery for them but it didn’t work. We buy bulk fiber supplements as advised by doctors. Nothing has worked and has only gotten worse!
We have started the Carnivore diet and your channel has been truly invaluable in helping us and keeping us motivated and informed! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with others, Laura! ❤

I am glad you did this video. It sheds light on the benefits of Carnivore that are often not discussed. I did not have the issues you dealt with. I am 53 yrs old and have been diagnosed as a diabetic shortly after I retired from the Marines in 2006. At that time I was 6’2” and weighed 220lbs which was the weight I carried my entire career. I was a thick muscular guy who was always active my entire life. However, I sustained an injury that significantly hampered my ability to workout. Coupled with deterioration of my knee and shoulder joints, I became a mere memory of what I once was during my youth and military service. No dieting plan ever worked as I dealt with weight gain and depression, which I hid from everyone. On many days, I would awaken to a nausea that resulted in eating little to no breakfast because of it. I became diabetic within a year of my military retirement. As the years went by, my diabetes worsened culminating in up 2017 when I began having to inject a long term insulin twice a day (btwn 60-62 units each injection), align with a short acting insulin three times a day (btwn 10-16 units each injection), along with being maxed out on MetFormin as well with 2000mg a day. In February, I weighed in at 303 lbs, an increase of 83 lbs. Then came Carnivore! I first saw a Dr Shawn Baker video and the very next one I watched was Laura Spath talking about how carnivore helped her. The next video of her husband’s story and how he was able to reverse his diabetes inspired me to try it. So, here we are three and half months in, I’ve been doing 24 hour fasts every day in conjunction with Carnivore, and the results have been outstanding...I have dropped down to 255 lbs (48 lbs down) and my insulin intake has been reduced by 75% (I no longer take the short acting insulin and only take one shot of the long acting with 26 units). My goal is 210 lbs (or more) and Lord willing, be diabetes free! I have been able to do this because you and your husband told your stories, warts and all. So, don’t be embarrassed by discussing the facts of life before Carnivore, because you are changing lives by doing so. Take care and thank you for what you are doing for the carnivore community and people may need real inspiration with real results.

OK, Laura! Your judgement to put out this information was an act of love for humanity and nothing less. I am one of those folks that the other carnivores thank God that they are NOT. I'm one of the ones that "get worse instead of better", based on Dr. Bakers survey. So, I've had lots of distress along with almost daily pain and discomfort, from my body trying to heal arthritis and who knows what all! I just read "The Carnivore Code" and your video gives me info I never got from that book! Also, I just want you to know, that when you decided to interview your Mom the first time: You saved my life! That was the video that started everything for me. I want you to know that you are helping people without realizing how much God is using you to help others. I am really grateful for your work.

Everyone I know that does the more fiber thing for constipation gets progressively worse over time. Being vegan wrecked me. Did it for 13 years. Worst decision of my life. Compounded every issue I ever had and left me in seriously rough shape. And I was into whole organic foods as well, not junky vegan crap. Ate tons of vegetables. Made my poop super sticky gross and absolutely disgusting smelling. Cutting them out has been life changing for me in every way but espcially for that. Been eating meat & animal fat for years now but still healing..... What a journey. But when you finally find the right healing tools the body can be amazing. So gald you are better. Sometimes life sucks. Nice to know we can turn things around.

I'm 68 years old and have chronic constipation and for the last 10 years have not gone to the bathroom at all without massive pharmaceutical help. I'm a 265 lbs male and I am hoping to achieve the weight loss that you and your husband have achieved through the carnivore diet and more importantly to fix my life long bowel problems. My life is not my own because of my constipation problem. I take a hand full of laxatives every 4 days to even have a chance of a bowel movement. My doctor said eat more fiber drink more water and when I did it got worse and I had to keep increasing the laxatives and stool softeners to the point of being sick, very sick every time I took them. I pray to God that this diet will fix this problem. Again thank you so much for you bravery in discussing this sensitive topic.

@@LauraSpath The world is more backwards right now than ever before. Actually it’s upside down. It’s not advice either as it’s propaganda and done on purpose. Good for you being smart enough to not let them do the surgery on those or your gall bladder. You have one for a reason and it just infuriates me at how cavalier Drs are about removing it. When I was a kid they would yank out tonsils and adenoids from all of the kids in a family if one child got ear infections. Plus I saw an old clip in black and white of a surgery, a real one and not a documentary, where they cut a slit in it and removed the gall stones and then sewed it closed. You have to ask yourself why they now just take it out when you need it and do not just remove the stones like they used to do. Laura, you are a real gem and I want to thank you for your frankness and willingness to share your experiences and troubles and congratulate you on your recovery.
Forget feelings of embarrassment and shyness, your issues must have been so debilitating and demoralising but you had the courage to make changes and you have the grace to publicly share your problems so that other people who may also be suffering can see a way to heal and recover.
I am a 66 year old male who has had none of the medical issues you have suffered with the exception of being a little overweight for the last ten years and getting somewhat insulin resistant.
Because of this I decided to go keto just over six weeks ago and that alone has brought about immediate weight loss of approximately 6 kilos plus a major upsurge in energy levels and improvement in mood and motivation. For the past five days I have been doing strict carnivore and feel even better again for it so I plan to stick with it. I believe that I have done myself a big favour by going down this path and it is stories like yours form people who have suffered really difficult problems that convince me that this needs to be a long term thing.

I’ve had chronic constipation since I was around 7years old as well and my large hemorrhoids formed when I was 19 after becoming literally full of poop. I’m newly clean keto carnivore heavy meaning I still have some tomatoes onions and seasonings with meat. I’ve been so afraid of not being able to heal even though I’ve spoke with other doctors and people in the carnivore community. Your story is the first I’ve heard similar to mine and I actually have hope now! This video just really gave me piece of mind to go full carnivore if I don’t feel better with the way I’m currently eating (which I know I should probably do anyway)

I’ve figured out so far it’s mainly dairy that sends me to the bathroom immediately. I’m wanting to go full carnivore. I was vegetarian for 11 years then craved meat after my gallbladder surgery. Several months ago, I was started on a nerve pain medication, side effect constipation. Then just over a month ago I was started on an opiod pain patch, side effect constipation. You’re video is so helpful! I’ve been carnivore for 3 weeks and it has improved my constipation sooo much! I go shockingly regularly compared to when I was eating lots of vegetables everyday. I’m so grateful for the change. Also, my bloating is non-existent as well!

Thank you so much for your honesty. My husband and I discuss every day how much easier going to the bathroom is! It is amazing. Carnivore diet healed my hemorrhoids. Such relief.

Thanks for sharing, Laura. I have gone through some issues with constipation or diarrhea in my carnivore journey as well. I figured out that it is not a good idea to drink a litre of soda water with your OMAD steak. Dilutes stomach acid...instant constipation. I also find cheese and coffee can vastly impact regularity.

How do you deal with thirst while eating? I like using salt but it makes me want a cool sparkling water with most meals
