The 2012 Valiant reboot was fantastic. They had great leadership, excellent creators, and a cohesive and interesting editorial vision. From 2012 to about 2018, Valiant published some of my favorite superhero books from that period. When the company changed ownership in 2018, it all went to crap and that's the way it's been since. I agree they sorely need to reboot and do it right, like they did in 2012. Hopefully that is what's coming. Great reviews as always, Robbie! Thank you!
I picked up the Valiant Archer & Armstrong Classic collection when it came out a couple of months ago purely for the Barry Windsor Smith art in the first 12 issues. The Bob Layton inks on BWS pencils just proves no one inks BWS better than BWS!
James Tynion IV is great at the set up but then he seems to lose interest and it fizzles out. World Tr33 is the latest but it even happened with Nice House on the Lake. I'm going to be reluctant to start anything new by him again. I'm getting fed up of the disappointment.
I picked up the Hulk Grand Design books on your recommendation and wasn't disappointed. Great stuff!

Please keep Grant Morrison away from Flash. LOL...he ruined Green Lantern for me when he was on that. Morrison is hit or miss for me, ad his GL was a big miss for me.
I agree that Absolute Power feels like there is a plan and it was earned. I do feel like Blood Hunt feels earned as well, when you look at what has been set up with vampires in Marvel from the stuff in Moon Knight to Jason Aaron's Avengers with the vampire nation. Even going back to the MI13 series. Things were happening with vampires for a while, and now this feels like the payoff...now the difference for me is that I feel like Absolute Power is building to a bigger change at DC (and of course the return of a Justice League) where after Blood Hunt we might just be going back to a status quo.

I find it ironic that the people that really hate si spurriers flash are the same ones that absolutely love Allan Moore and his older works and his philosophies about taking something that initially as kiddy stuff and elevating the form.
Those fans that bitch and moan that want the old same ol same ol flash stories are what is indicative of what is wrong with modern fandom. They bitch and moan about things getting stale but the. When you have a shakeup like this new flash run then they bitch that it needs to go back the. Status quo.
At least spurrier is swinging for the fences and taking the flash in an odd direction that for me I’ve not seen before. Personally I’m loving it.
I agree to some extent, but I also understand the complaints of the other side. The problem with Spurrier is that he is a bargain bin version of Alan Moore and Warren Ellis. He and Tom King try too hard to emulate him and both think they are smarter than they actually are. Alan Moore wasn't trying to be someone else when he wrote those classic stories. You are right about fans complaining. You give them something new and they complain and if you give them the same old story, they also complain. The way you feel about the Flash run is how I feel about Ram V's Detective run. Everyone hates it but I'm just glad he tried something new. A lot of comic book fans are just like drug addicts that are constantly chasing the high that they got the first time they did their drug of choice. Many fans are just trying to chase the high they got from comics as a child, but you'll never get as high as you did the first time.
