For 2 wetland filters, I would double the size of your intake bay! Everything else looks great. It's exactly what I have been wanting to do! I would use a nice thick old carpet between the rock and the liner wherever people will be the most! The last thing you want on such a big project is a puncture. I cant wait to see it man! I subbed Also, you might think about how you will clean the bottom of the pond with it being a gravel bottom. I've built two ponds so far, and that's the worst spot for everything settling. You might consider hiding a pump (or some kind of pre-pump bottom filter) somewhere in the rocks at the bottom level. Just to help suck water from the bottom as well. Or maybe a few large powerful air stones hooked like an under gravel filter system that could be hidden behind the rockwork at the bottom level. Just to bring the gunk to the top where it can be filtered by the intake bay. If you RUclips search, there have been a few professionals that used under gravel air stone filtration alongside the main filtration on large ponds.

Thanks for the input man! Some sort of flow on the bottom of the pond is definitely something I’ve been considering. My current plan is to have a couple jets near the bottom to help push some of that junk up to the top

@@TheStump29 are you thinking pea gravel on the bottom where you will be walking? I could see that definitely being the most comfortable on the feet, and least likely to cause liner issues! would be nice and easy to drag a plastic rake through pea gravel every few weeks to stir up the muck too. Just another thought. I know the fish would love it. Jets would be a great option for sure.

@@12razorp yeah likely pea gravel for the bottom and the beach area. I don’t have enough confidence to try to pull off sand 😂 I’ll probably stop by the stone yard and test out the pebble they have to make sure It feels ok when walked on.

Sounds like a great plan. Good practice having built the smaller pond first. When we built our pond in 2020 we hit a few hurdles along the way but we came out with a beautiful pond. Our first and biggest issue when we started was the high water table in Florida. We had a giant mud hole full of water, but we finally got the liner down. Good luck with your project!

Thanks! I know there are going to be some hurdles I’ll have to navigate, just crossing my fingers for not too many!

In my State you can't have sheds within 3ft of the property line so that spot for the pumps is kinda confusing for me. If you have the slope I'd highly recommend installing a 6-inch pipe at low-slope to remove the water. I have a drainage playlist full of collected YT videos that you might find use in. 4 inch pipe is just too low-flow if you have enough water to get a 6 inch.
