I don't know, maybe there i something wrong with me but, I got returned s24 Ultra, i returned iPhone 16 pro Max, Honor Magic 6 Pro and bought Xperia 1 VI for 980EUR in sale. So far I really like the phone. Those talking about fullHD etc... on so small screen I dont see any difference while using it with S24 Ultra set to QHD. I have in average 4 days (with 7h SOT during this time) which is MEGA. For day to day usage, phone is really comfortable, well build, amazing for music lovers who appreciate high quality audio. Camera is one and only in smartphones which is as close to mirrorless camera quality as possible (not everyone appreciate it though). I like that photos are not overprocessed and phone is not making day from night. So far after 3weeks of usage, in general I do like the phone. WHAT TO IMPROVE: lens switching should be much more smooth, High quality stabilization available for 4k60, bring back videoPro app,
Ha I'm glad it's not just me! You sound as bad as me! 15 Pro Max Pixel 8 Pro S24 Ultra Pixel 9 Pro XL (now), S25 Ultra in January (maybe) but I won't be selling my Pixel until I know the cameras better or not! Most 72 year old woman buy shoes and handbags, not me, I like my tech! 😂😊
Oh yeah 😂 I would be not afraid to call it illness 😂. Anyway also somehow waiting on s25U hoping that shape of it will change finally. Because only one problem for me in s24u was it weight and shape. Other than that it is great mobile.
I bought the Sony Xperia 10 VI for just 299€ on sale for Black Friday and LOVE everything about it except the selfie camera processing (it's really truly bad, a shame considering the main shooter is actually very good and natural). I would have preferred buying an Xperia 5, but there was no 5 this year and last year's model will run out of Android version updates in just 1 year. If there is a 5 or similar Sony phone next year, I will buy it even though I already have the 10 VI. That's how much the overall 10 VI experience has impressed me for its ridiculously low price. Killing the battery in one day is IMPOSSIBLE even though I play RUclips in the background all day and keep my bluetooth earbuds and Galaxy Watch connected. Charging the S24 battery to 80%, it would be dead right by bedtime. Too close for comfort. With the 10 VI, also charged to 80%, over 30% is left in the tank even on days with tons of screen-on time.
Finally i got xperia 1 vi for 999€ (price droped around 400€) after xperia 10 iii. On one hand it feels good and easy use, camera quality very good, speakers are amazing🎉
Just wanted to say that I bought the sony 2 weeks ago after reading reviews and watching your videos. Funny enough I was either going with the Pixel Pro XL or the Sony. The Sony has hit all my requirements especially with the headphone jack, really good batttery, stock-ish android and micro sd card. I moved from an iPhone XR to the 1 VI and the sidesense bar was something I didn't expect using often. Thank you for reviews! :)
@ejdavis72 that wasn't the case until recently, it wasn't on Amazon until fairly recently which is where I got mine from. There are open box deals on the S24 Ultra everywhere for well under $1000. I got my S24 Ultra in flawless condition with everything for $850 from Best Buy. Once Samsung has them on sale the open box deals are massive
@joelconolly5574 yes and no. Samsung and Google both usually offer sale prices whereas Sony rarely does and when they do it's because there is a new model out. Samsung and Google are also offered through most major wireless carriers, and sold direct but both of which offer promo deals and trade in values whereas Sony does not.
What Sony needs to do is combine their marketing efforts the way Apple does. Instead of doing a separate showcase for their smartphones, tvs, headphones etc, they should do all the major electronics they sell during their Playstation Experience - this would give them the most exposure. They could market it at the same time. Also if they came back to the US they need to get carriers to sell them. A lot of people don't know that Sony makes a phone. They own and operate a number of different industries, they could even use movie stars, music artists to help market their products, they just haven't done a good job doing this aside from the occasional quick peep where you see James Bond using an Xperia phone (in the Daniel Craig era movies) which people don't even notice.
I hope Sony brings the Xperia phones back to the states. I have the Xperia 1 V. This phone is great. I really appreciate the expandable memory and the sound. It would be great if I had the lasting battery of the Xperia 1VI but I didn't try to import that device. It would also be great if Sony incorporated the trade in program like the other major US players. I think not having a good trade-in value hurts this phone as well. But the device I would love for Sony to come back to the US because I definitely would buy another one.
The best thing about all the different phones is they're driving each other to innovate and they're all getting better. I love my Pixel 9 pro xl. I don't do high end gaming on my phone and it's been great for me. At the end of the day everyone should be able to find something that fits their needs at a price point they like. The more competition the better.
I've had my Xperia 1 VI since June 2024 in the UK. The battery life is incredible, I'd say the same thing about the speakers too. The screen is pretty good. The main camera is excellent, it takes some amazing photos. I think they need to update the resolution for the zoom camera, as it can lose detail when you zoom in. Also yes they need to update the front facing camera to have auto focus. Hopefully when we get Android 15 they include the Video Pro app.
Sony is so close to perfection. Bring back 4k. 7 years of software updates. Improve selfie camera. Improve rear camera. Improve point and shoot ability.
After years of Xperia’s I turned to Pixel. The hardware quality on Xperia’s felt better, i.e. the aluminum of the body and it felt way better in one hand. If Sony only would make its updates the same or more years as a Pixel I shall return. Sony give us 8 full years of updates. You sell your phone as a high quality tool, and thus it should last the longest of all!
Sony will never match the pixels update life span, it's not profitable for them and they need to sell you phones to maintain an income, Google don't, they can sell you RUclips Music and RUclips Premium, Google 1 etc for you to use on your phone to keep the money rolling in after the fact.
I am still using a galaxy s10+ as it feels like id be giving up at least 3 features for any upgrade. If sony could make a 1vii, with US carrier support and 5 years of updates I would be so sold!
i am using Xperia 1 mark 1 from 2019 (soon 6 years old phone) on a daily basis 5 years updates is not important at all :) i have no issues at all. cheers
I hate many of the bad and illogical trends that have become common in modern phones, it is great that Sony continues with this style, yes there are some flaws here and there but if I were to choose the perfect phone this year it would be the Xperia 1 VI.

I would love to see you cover more OnePlus content. Their whole ecosystem is fantastic and far more affordable than Samsung. And let's be honest you're probably getting more value for your money with OnePlus. But no american-based content creators really cover them much
That phone looks so sick the first and only time i gor a sony phone was way back when the s4 was out it broke so easy and i never got one again but maybe i was a little too early lol
Hey Dude! Great content here, thank you! 😊 How many fingerprints are available to record maximum number 5 or 10 or even more? Can I use the screen as a flashlight while taking a selfie? Thanks💪
Give me the hardware of the Xperia 1 V and the photography experience of the Pixel 8 Pro, perfection. I tried the mark VI, nowhere near the Pixel and a worse form factor. I really want to love Sony but I can't get the results I can count on with Pixel. I hate the 9 Pro XL form factor, BTW. Big, heavy, easy too round. The Xperia 1 V was the Perfect form factor!
How many phones do you carry at one time? You use Apple to record videos, what do you do with all the rest of your phones? Is there a price difference between those phones? I really believe OnePlus is the best value you can get!
Sony has been around for long time and keep pushing phones with Imp "specs" and their Camera. But in the end, it never works solid and they are slow on updates.
They downgraded the quad HD display from the previous generation is because it's pointless having a qaud HD display in these perticular resolution, 2k and quad hd displays has same quality level at these lower resolutions. And it drains more battery aswell. Other phone manufacturers include if cause they trying to compete with each other with fancy upgrades. But it really has no quality difference, just a batter drainer
I mean. The Xperia isn’t available in the US so that’s not an option. I will never buy a pixel again after I got hoodwinked by the pixel fold. My $60 monthly payment reminds me of that 12 times a year.
I had the Xperia 1 V, along with the s24 plus, iPhone 16 pro and now the pixel 8 pro. Sorry but the Xperia can’t even win against the pixel 7 pro in general. The only thing that the Sony is better is the amazing 4k screen and amazing sound…I was very impressed but the Xperia 1 VI took that away…the cameras were just mediocre all around
Yes and no. On a recent cross country trip, my Xperia worked on AT&T in Chicago and LAX. It would not connect in SFO, Boston, Seattle or Ventura CA. The AT&T service representative advice was to get an iPhone. I'm going to switch to t-mobile instead.
A phone with a premium price tag but without any of the premium life and experience. This is the general experience with Android devices across the world, even with the likes of Samsung who is the king of Android phones. Next time someone asks "why is Apple the best and why are people buying this over X android?", remember the Sony smartphones. It's the poster child of everything wrong with the entire scene. You want a Pixel phone? Good luck making it work in most of the planet, let alone finding support for it even for simple things. You want a Motorolla X? Same as above. Add infinity, there is nothing cohesive with Android devices. When i got my S23U i didn't chose it because that's what i wanted, i chose it because i was kind of stuck and pushed towards it because everything else at the time was subpar, too expensive for what it was or just plain not worth the money. Kudos to Samsung stepping up their game in regards to trying to offer more and kudos to them because they did lure me away from the obvious disaster that would have been the Pixel 7 at the time if i had bought into it.

I would love to see you cover more OnePlus content. Their whole ecosystem is fantastic and far more affordable than Samsung. And let's be honest you're probably getting more value for your money with OnePlus. But no american-based content creators really cover them much
I agree whole hardheartedly
I cover their products when they come out and even do some follow up content from time to time.
That phone looks so sick the first and only time i gor a sony phone was way back when the s4 was out it broke so easy and i never got one again but maybe i was a little too early lol
Hey Dude!
Great content here, thank you! 😊
How many fingerprints are available to record maximum number 5 or 10 or even more?
Can I use the screen as a flashlight while taking a selfie?
Thanks💪
5 fingers if I remember correctly.
Sony used to sell their phones here with the carriers
I gave up to a A54 5G for Xperia 5v 0:53 you're right,i didn't noticed on my 5v, 1:30 true.
❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉🎉
Sony is the best!!❤
I mean. The Xperia isn’t available in the US so that’s not an option. I will never buy a pixel again after I got hoodwinked by the pixel fold. My $60 monthly payment reminds me of that 12 times a year.
Did you buy the original pixel fold? If so, that's on you. Never buy a 1st gen release of anything, it's common knowledge.
Planing on selling my Pixel 8 Pro and buy the Xperia 1VI. So disappointed with the battery on the pixel.
Sony ❤
Yh Sony is the best choice ❤
The only thing you don't get with the Sony is the phone itself, because it's not sold in most of the world.
👍👍👍 en français
I like bofum.
Pixel Adam ...Pixel 😊
Will the Sony work in the U.S. on AT&T?
Check the bands required for AT&T and verify with Sony's specs...problem solved
Yes and no.
On a recent cross country trip, my Xperia worked on AT&T in Chicago and LAX. It would not connect in SFO, Boston, Seattle or Ventura CA. The AT&T service representative advice was to get an iPhone. I'm going to switch to t-mobile instead.
Sony doesn't have good deals and here in Canada you have to import it so no thanks.
not sony, not pixel. I WANT A NEW BLACKBERRY LIKE PHONE ! I WANT PRESSABLE BUTTONS
Dude, if you worked with your hands, you would not like fingerprint readers. My fingers are cut up all the time, so facial readers are the best.
Why are you making it his problem?
He's explaining why he likes the sony and describing the features. If it's not for you then it's fine
@@gintoki_sakata__ he gave his opinion, and I gave mine....
Many people hacked into facial and eye detection. It's security advancement not mature yet. The best is still fingerprint.
Ok and?
@@bloodytoad2010 wow, don't leave your phone and all OK
Neither, Chinese smartphones are a generation ahead since the p30pro that's why they banned Huawei
The Samsung Galaxy phones offer excellent value especially the base model.
I lost all respect for Sony
Yeah stick to your cute iphone and leave Sony to us photographer's
@randyorton6198 don't have a cute iPhone and go ahead lol photographer
