    Sold my cold knot
    A heavy stone
    Sold my red horse for a venture home
    To vanish on the bow
    Settling slow
    Fit it all, fit it in the doldrums
    (Or so the story goes)
    Color the era
    Film it, it's historical
    My mile could not
    Pump the plumb
    In my arbor 'till my ardor
    Trumped every inner inertia
    Lump sum
    All at once
    Rushing from the sub-pump
    (Or so the story goes)
    Balance we won't know
    We will see when it gets warm

    can one learn to sing like that or is this something you are born with.

    • @ModernDayArt
      @ModernDayArt 10 лет назад +3

      If you mean the falsetto, it's about finding a sweet spot and being able to sing in that range above where your voice cracks. Trial and error.

    • @locker199601
      @locker199601 10 лет назад +13

      Elaborating on falsetto, Justin Vernon has a very rich, deep bass voice. His falsetto sits significantly lower than the average man's. If you're a normal or high voiced guy (baritone/tenor), he's singing falsetto at pitches you would almost surely be more comfortably singing in your normal voice. At the same time, the fact that he has already "switched" into his falsetto (and stays there) means that he can effortlessly swing up to notes that are surely within the range of your falsetto, but outside your normal register. That means that most men trying to sing Bon Iver tunes end up constantly switching from the normal part of our range into falsetto and back again. Sufficed to say, it's a real pain.
