It's really sad episode and the fact that Naya Rivera died 7 years later from accidental drowning and was found on the day Cory Monteith died. And in the song she said sink me in the river at dawn . I literally cried the whole episode
Devastating fact: Rachel's speech about making it on broadway and then coming back to Lima and being with Finn was actually how Ryan Murphey planned to end Glee before Corey died.
That scene of his mom and Kurt and Kurt’s dad kills me every single time I see it. You also nailed it when you said, “you need it the most” re: Shue. That ending man… wow.
The grief and tears in this episode were very real because this was the first episode they filmed after Corey died, and everyone was grieving there on the set together for the whole shoot. Finn's mom's speech and Naya's song will forever make me cry, no matter how many times I watch this episode, so there's no blame for your tears, Jay - it shows you're a true Gleek. The rest of this season is kinda off kilter because the original mail storyline was obviously blown to pieces, but there are still some great episodes to come, and I really like season 6.
This is by FAR one of the most heart breaking episodes EVER MADE. And i don't think someone ike it will be done again. Naya's performance was so sad and so pure, and we could see how every single actor on the scene was suffering for the lost of a dear friend. And the entire time they were VERY respectfull for the way Cory died. Amazing, and im always speachless whenever i watch this episode(Finn's mom dialogue? mind breaking)
This was a rough one to get through. Even though it's been years since I watched it, it just doesn't get easier. I am ugly crying right along with you. Santana's song hits me the most because of what happened to Naya... not just that it was If I Die Young... but the lyrics... "sink me in the river"... knowing she drowned. I can never get over that. 🥺😥😭💔
I've only seen this episode once, when it came on, and I've not been able to see it again. It's so well done, but so devastatingly heartbreaking. Corey deserved to beat his addiction, to live.
Watching this reaction there were times when I teared up. Justice, the whole time I was watching this video I was thinking how wonderful it is that you’re never afraid to show emotion or cry. Most guys are too afraid to show how they feel and I think that they shouldn’t be afraid. I love how your gentle personality shows in every reaction you do. ❤
Okay, this will be my first cry n 2025.... I've been watching Glee since I was little, and every time I watch this episode, I know I'm going to cry... First, the scene with her mother, then Puck, Santana, and finally Rachel (Santana is always the hardest for me...).
12 years later this still hits like a ton of bricks, especially knowing the grief was real. That, and knowing that Mark Salling (Puck) would follow five years later and that Naya Rivera two years after that.
And weren't they engaged during this point too? Like that we're going to get married or were they still dating? Because all I've ever is them being together when it happened
On the "plus" side, we've now gone 4.5 years without any more of the cast dying. RIP, Cory RIP, Mark RIP, Naya (If you think "If I Die Young" hits hard *now* , just imagine all the "fun" we had looking at this in July 2020.) SUE: "Everything you said, you were right." Well, not technically. Santana threatening to shove you *was* Assault, but her actually shoving you was Battery.
OMG I saw this when it 1st aired in 2013 with my bestie & we cried so bad & each time after that I ALWAYS cry especially at the scene with Kurt his dad & Finns mom SIP to Cory Monteith.
I first saw this episode on streaming in late 2019, a few months after my little brother passed, and because of those circumstances I had completely forgotten about Cory's death when I watched it. I had to shut off the episode after 10 minutes, as everything hit me like a freight train. I haven't been able to watch since, as since that episode, Mark Salling and Nia Rivera have both passed, which excessively triggers personal grief. Unfortunately, will be unable to finish this reaction video for the same reasons, but, you still are one of my top 3 favorite reaction channels on RUclips, and will continue watching your DOCTOR WHO, TORCHWOOD, BUFFY, and HEARTBREAKER (my own name for HEARTSTOPPER) videos.
I’m so sorry about your little brother, sending you all my love 💙 completely understandable that you’re not able to finish this reaction. Thank you for all your support on the other videos. It means the world!!!
We’ve lost so many people from Glee😢. Santana performance broke me the first bc the scream and run off wasn’t planned that’s raw emotion and Rachel/Lea being his real life gf😭
Oh my, this episode... I will always remember when the first promo of it aired, I remember crying all night 💔💔💔💔 Naya's performance of If I Die Young 😭😭😭💔💔💔 Man, Carole's scene always breaks me 💔💔💔💔 #ForeverCory Happy New Year, Jay ❤ Ps : The ending scene of the performance of Seasons of Love(when Finn's picture appears) is untill today my facebook's photo 😢💔 Ps 2: When Rachel says how she thinks it would be in a few years, with Finn teaching at Glee, and she saying "I'm home" stuff, this was supposed to be the original ending of Glee 💔💔💔
I think it chord and Lea were hurting the most chord looked so spaced out in this episode think about Corey they were really close buddies in real life and well Lea was his woman
I was the biggest Gleek watched every episode illegally downloaded every song and Finn was always my fav for his sensitivity and I have only watched this episode just once even tho I own every season except season 6. It’s heartbreaking but I think I will watch it again before I watch your reaction. I will never forget how I found out he died…a friend of a friend randomly texted me one morning “Sorry about Ferb. I kno you loved him.” And I was like wtf then I got to work at Starbucks and my manager was in tears and gave me a big hug and everyone was talking about it. Thats how I found out 😳 😢 no one cares how he did cuz that didn’t define his life. And then years later my darling Naya died and was found same day Corey died and my heart literally broke I was an emotional wreck for weeks and it pissed me off cuz no one seemed to care except the glee cast of course but news outlets were like so just ugh I hate the media during times like that so insensitive. Mark/Puck passed too and I mourned him but not like I did Corey and Naya 🖤🖤🖤
I hated, and still kind of do, Ryan Murphy for making the cast film this so soon after. They didnt have time to grieve before they had to get on camera and do it publicly. They should have delayed until they had dealt with their personal grief. And they should have ended the show then. Cory was tbe heart of the show and with him gone it was never the same.
He gave the choice to Lea. To either take a few weeks off to grief, or keep going right after his death. She chose to keep going & everyone who wanted to be in the episode got to be in it.
@Emilia_wallin yeah, that's not exactly what the other cast members have said. Yes, RM gave Lea the choice, she decided, and the rest HAD to come back to work. Honestly, I don't think Cory and Lea were even together at the time he died. I know that's an unpopular opinion, but there were just too many red flags in the whole situation.
@@rochelledunlap9993 I think they could’ve chosen to not be in it if they didn’t want to, but if you can find where the other cast says they HAD to come back or else they were fired, feel free to give the source! 😊 And they loved eachother & were still together. Don’t even discredit that, please. Losing the love of your life is AWFUL.
@@rochelledunlap9993 Such nonsense and shame on you for your reckless speculation. You have no idea what took place and you certainly have no idea about their relationship or his situation. So disrespectful and shows your ignorance. He had a disease one that sadly can creep back up on a person regardless.. Again shame on you.
Hindsight is wonderful but some of them thought grieving together at work was better then being at home alone. There isn't a timeline for grief. And what about the over 100 people who worked on the show who needed to pay their bills? The heart of the show may have been different fans plus the others characters deserve their conclusions.
It's really sad episode and the fact that Naya Rivera died 7 years later from accidental drowning and was found on the day Cory Monteith died. And in the song she said sink me in the river at dawn . I literally cried the whole episode
Same like honestly, this is an episode tribute to the both of them
"send me up the river at dawn, send me away with the words of a love song."

Me too

The pain in this episode is so real.

this is such a sucker punch every time. the whole cast (specially lea) was so strong to come back for this so soon after he died.
This episode hits so much harder now that him and Nina are gone. Rest in peace to the both of them
Nina's song is even more heartbreaking now.

It’s naya
The fact that Naya died 7 years later and the song that she sung just hit different 😢😢

when Rachel talk to mr shue about her coming back and say i'm home to Finn was supposed to be the end of Glee the real ending
What a heartbreaking episode to watch. Cory was so talented. And so nice to fans. He was the heart of the show. RIP Cory❤

Chord(Sam) actually wrote the song that he and Kevin (Artie) were singing and Chord wrote it for Cory Monteith
rachel/lea always breaks my heart in this episode

Nice to catch up with your reaction Jay. Has always love your take on this episode. Always weird when rewatching glee that 3 of them are now gone.
