The covert cowl is actually lore-accurate if you imagine that you are an Assassin from the Ottoman Brotherhood. They used wood carved, leather, or even metal masks (somewhat depending on rank). This was a stark contrast to what other branches of the Brotherhood believed. Some of the Italian brotherhood initiates wore fabric masks prior to achieving the rank of Master and only until one perfects the second tenet of the creed. The creed does not disallow masks in general, but it's rather uncommon in general practice. The second tenet of the brotherhood is "Hide in plain sight - Let the people mask you such that you become one with the crowd". Therefore, a mask in theory should not be used by a skilled master Assassin.
This build has several variants that make it really practical too: 3 Champion/9 Thief with Undermountain King on one hand and Dead Shot to maximize crit, 5 Champion/7 Thief for more attacks, or 2 Fighter/10 Thief for more feats (Mobile is both practical and thematic too with stabbing and running through,) all have Action Surge. You can technically go 6 Champion/5 Thief/1 Ranger for Hunter's Mark too but that kinda diminishes the Rogue aspect and makes it just another Fighter build. My Astarion (5/7 variant) uses Cloak of Cunning Brume and Eversight Ring combo to make everywhere he goes obscure for crit and Sneak Attack. Couldn't recommend this build more. It's super fun.

One of my favorite games is Assassin's Creed: Brothehood and this is so nice to see, great build idea and it also gave me an idea, to try and make a build inspired by Corvo Attano from Dishonored, another favorite game of mine, maybe a mix of shadow monk, warlock and rogue, i'll work on it for sure. Nice work as always.
This is so cool! I've totally binge watched basically all your builds at this point and omg it satisfies my desire to make thematic builds instead of just power builds haha!! Currently doing a variation of your red mage build, with Laezel as one of my companions using the corrupted gith Gish 😎 Would totally love to see how you'd create a viable throwing dagger build! I've yet to see someone do that - only thing that comes to mind is some strange combo of Eldritch knight for bound weapon (dagger returns to you) and rogue for the sneak attack - I could be wrong but I've read throwing daggers actually works with sneak attack because they're finesse and light 🤷♂️
The level 9 feature for assassin is this games equivalent of the tabletop version of it which allows you to set up a fake identity within a city given some time and gold. It's still a pretty crap feature in tabletop but it makes more sense and also balances out the subclass from being the objectively most powerful one. Thief, for example, isn't nearly as good in tabletop so assassin with it's advantages in easy crits needs to be metered by a crap 9th level feature or else it'd be the only rogue subclass anyone ever took
Loads of people do lone wolf solo play throughs with rogues and there are several videos of such gameplay on RUclips. So the idea of playing BG 3 as an Assassins Creed style Assassin is totally doable, but requires skill and patience.
Seeing you do builds like this makes me wonder if you could do a build for Kirito from SAO. Would love to see something for a strong dual wielder swordsman for this game.
Love anything stealth related, so this is a really fun one for me. Didn't realize you could get two of those daggers so very tempting to steal this one. Ususally I got the Gloom Stalker/Assassin route which works great in melee too, is it weird my fave part is the superior darkvision? hmm As you made this an RP build (which is rad btw) I'd love to see you come up with if not a pure thief then another fave of mine, a Treasure Hunter. the skills of a thief to raid ancient tombs and ruins for gold and treasure, what classes would you mix? The Bard, a fighter? Whats skills aside from the ability to deal with locks and traps would a Treasure Hunter need? hahaha sorry this one has put me in a giddy excited mood, the joys of sneaking unseen like a ghost's shadow, getting your mission done whatever it is, and leaving with no one the wiser. So satisfying. One critique if you will allow, in the footage at the end, you need to dispose of the bodies. Pop them in crates and toss them into casms (The river etc) then bottles of water or the conjure water spell to be rid of blood pools. Your no wanton murderer you are an assassin, an artist of death, and unlike psycho sisters ;) you leave nothing but the sound of silence in your wake.
I actually mentioned this in the video! It ended up being counter-intuitive to the playstyle though as you would need to rage, jump away, and then jump back. Doesn't really work with a stealth character. I found the Bonespike Boots fits this perfectly fine.
Drop the fighter level since you won't need the fighting style, and go 12 levels of Rogue. That'll get you an extra feat. I'd recommend Savage Attacker, Alert, or Athlete.
Not as of now. I try to make these builds as accessible as possible. If I use mods, the videos are inaccessible to console players. I would also feel bad about making videos using mods because I don't want to say "hey check out this build I made" when it's really someone else's work doing the heavy lifting.
