This song is a perfect medley of Nanako's and Namatame's feelings and it represents their Heaven dungeon well. The dungeon is a combination of both their perceptions of heaven, their grief, and their desires to see their loved ones again (Nanako's mother and Namatame's lover, respectively). It also makes Nanako's innocent question early on in the game about where people go when they die all the more painful in retrospect (one of the options is to tell her that dead people go to heaven). It's interesting, too, to see the different relationship dynamics and their juxtaposed experiences of grief. For Namatame, he lost his lover and is experiencing grief as an adult. He misses her dearly, blames himself for what happened, and had to witness her brutal murder. For Nanako, she lost her mother very young and is experiencing grief as a child. She barely remembers her, but she remembers enough to miss her. Children don't really understand death, either, so in some ways it is even more difficult for Nanako to deal with. Besides that, even if Nanako doesn't really remember her mother, she can still see how her loss affects others. She sees how it affects her father, and gets scared that he's going to forget about her like how he "forgot" about Nanako's mother. She doesn't understand that Dojima has most definitely forgotten her, in fact he's kinda hung up on her death. She doesn't understand that Dojima doesn't keep pictures around of Nanako's mother because it's too painful for him, or that the reason he's often so busy is because he's trying to find her mother's killer. Nanako can also look around and see other children and their mothers, and feels the loss of her mother in that way, too. They say you can't miss what you never had, but that just isn't true. You CAN miss what you never had, as evidenced by Nanako and other children who have lost a parent or family member. You can look around and see other people with their parents/relatives and regret not having that too. I am fortunate in that I have both my parents and haven't experienced such terrible loss in that way, but I can say that I envy people who still have their grandfathers. Heck, even if they don't still have them I envy people who at least got to know their grandfathers. I never knew either of mine, both of them died kinda young. One of my grandfathers died in his sixties, before I was born, which might not sound young but nowadays sixty is pretty young. The other grandfather died when I was very young, and I don't remember him. He dies in his seventies, which is a bit better but still a tad on the young side considering the average lifespan today. But of course, I don't mean to turn this into a pity party or sound like I'm saying "poor me". I am very fortunate, all things considered, and I at least knew my grandmothers. Well... one of them, the other I only knew through greeting cards but she was kind of a bitch anyway lol.

For the feel real comment, I honestly thought Yukiko was the most cardboard cutout party member in Persona ever. As for feeling real, I thought the Investigation Team did this trait the weakest of the 3 teams. They still felt real mind you, but not as much as the Thieves (they just barely lose to the Thieves though) and especially SEES. I’ll admit they have the best friendly interactions though.

What i love about your covers, is that they never sound the same, your ability to adapt your voice to each song you do is amazing. Most cover artists usually all have the same sound to them.
I have listened to this song repeatedly. I keep finding myself returning to this song. I have to say, you really did something special with this song. This was such a minor song in the game. But your voice has added something truly beautiful to this song, and the lyrical changes really captured Nanako's story. The increasing strength of the song from slow to fast also gives this feeling like her friendship with the main cast leads her on the path of recovery from the loss of her mom. This song moved me so much, and is truly one of the greatest covers I have seen on youtube. It touched a deep part of my soul, and I love it.
