That seems to be the wording the family has chosen because they don't want to share the truth that it is Alzheimers. Reports of him struggling with memory and speech go back to 2015. Let's appreciate these old movies, because this quality of practical effects so realistic with miniatures, you don't see them anymore, today an explosion of a plane in any Marvel movie looks as fake as a video game, because it's all done in CGI, instead the last explosion of the 747 in Die Hard 2, it seems like a real plane explode because of how well done the special effects are.
Gotcha! Yes, just briefed myself up to speed on this. Wow..had no idea..reminds me of Val Kilmer. Those two are LEGENDS. Bruce is an icon. What an awesome guy.

I was excited to see you were reacting to this. Lots of reactors do DH1 but not the sequels. I admit there are diminishing returns on the sequels, but I like DH2 almost as much as DH1 and the other sequels have their pluses. I was a little surprised at your reaction; to me, it's clear that McClane's love for Holly drives most of the action and I am SO disappointed that you didn't include any of Holly's scenes, or even mention her in the analysis.
One of my favorite things about the Die Hard series is that none of the sequels were written as Die Hard sequels, they were all stand-alone action scripts that didn't quite make the cut, and in the end got recycled into Die Hard movies. So, don't expect too much consistent world-building but the sequels are worth watching, especially Die Hard with a Vengeance!
It just dawned on me recently the "naked training" is actually a call back to the unhinged Captain Willard in "Apocalypse Now". So it's a hint on several levels that Col. Stewart is seriously unhinged..
There's a story going around about the actor who played the general. Franco Nero is an Italian actor who wanted to make it big in America. The catch? He didn't speak a word of English. He crammed the entire Othello play phoneticaly (might have been another Shakespeare, my memory is foggy) and got the part. Without understanding a single word he was saying.
I dunno if anyone remembers it (I almost forgot about it). But if you want some Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans awesomeness check out the Last Boy Scout.
You know, I notice the only people who say Die Hard isn't a Christmas movie are wrong. Go figure. Stay real James, your videos are always so much fun to watch.
i love this movie for the fact that i was absolutely BLINDSIDED by the betrayal of the army dudes. especially the leader, i totally, fully trusted him. idk if i missed some foreshadowing but i was absolutely flabbergasted when they slit that dude's throat in the truck, and then it clicked that it was because he was the replacement because the bad army guy had to stay home. that blew my mind. 1&3 are my favourites but this is not a bad movie by any means! edit: also the bit when the plane is trying to land and the pavement appears super close out of nowhere was effective as hell at scaring the shit outta me
First of all salute to Bruce Willis one of the greatest actors of all time. He is one of the main actors that got me into loving films so I have always a special place in my heart for him. Im from Finland and Renny Harlin is too who is the director of this movie. So this is a special film for me because its the best movie that a finnish director has ever done. Die Hard 1 and 3 are the best like for many other people and this just gets overlooked but this is really a fantastic film but those two are just better which just speaks volumes how good this movies truly are.
Always fun when you watch these action movies from the 90s. Since you like the Die Hard movies, you should consider watching Bruce Willis' classic The Last Boy Scout sometime, take care! ...Or put it on your "Patreon pull" I know I will vote for it :)
Prayers 🙏🙏 to Bruce Willis. I truly hope he can return to what he loves doing.. If not.. Thank you for all of the magic you have given us over the last several decades.. God bless!
The ending explosion, is only possible (still a bit unlikely) because he used a lighter, had it been a cigarette it won't ignite. When they did the super close up of a cigarette hitting in Usual Suspects and it igniting gas you can actually see a spark from an off screen igniter.
Fun ride with some good villains. The third film has more of the first films vibe. You‘ll love that one, as it does get more personal in that one again.
Gotta recommend Last Man Standing. Basically a remake of a Fist Full of Dollars, set during the prohibition era, starring Bruce Willis. The rest of the cast is pretty fire too.
Thank you for honoring Bruce Williss today. The announcement of his retiring from acting due to health challenges made me very sad. I'm going to watch The Fifth Element tonight myself. Have you seen it?
It was a real surprising ride in the cinema. Given that they pulled such brilliance with the first one, a sequel seemed much more like something they ought to have utterly avoided, and yet Harlin and the team pulled off a great one.
Such a coincidence with today's news. Bruce Willis' greatest gift has always been his wittiscism, snark, and he even has a pretty solid singing voice. I k ow it's going to rough for him. I hope he can make it through emotionally and spiritually.

Yippie Ki Yay for James vs. Cinema!
i love this movie for the fact that i was absolutely BLINDSIDED by the betrayal of the army dudes. especially the leader, i totally, fully trusted him. idk if i missed some foreshadowing but i was absolutely flabbergasted when they slit that dude's throat in the truck, and then it clicked that it was because he was the replacement because the bad army guy had to stay home. that blew my mind.
Yippee Kai-yay Mr Falcon!
Always fun when you watch these action movies from the 90s. Since you like the Die Hard movies, you should consider watching Bruce Willis' classic The Last Boy Scout sometime, take care!
...Or put it on your "Patreon pull" I know I will vote for it :)
🎵 Riding on the Range 🎵 Love The Last Boyscout
Prayers 🙏🙏 to Bruce Willis. I truly hope he can return to what he loves doing.. If not.. Thank you for all of the magic you have given us over the last several decades.. God bless!
My brother and I, FOR SURE wrapped blue and red electrical tape wrapped around our toy MP5 magazines because of this movie.
I was laughing when you said "Terminator"
Jamessssss ! My boy !
Peace love and positive vibes fam
You know it brotha! Stay up homie!
Good stuff as always my friend!
gotta love James, main character *is a man* James-"This dude is Nathan Drake" lol
I still regard 19:52 as the greatest "STFU" in movie history.
Die Hard? A Christmas movie? You damn right it is! Lol🍻
Same plane prop was used in Kurt Russell film (Executive Decision).
Gotta recommend Last Man Standing. Basically a remake of a Fist Full of Dollars, set during the prohibition era, starring Bruce Willis. The rest of the cast is pretty fire too.
I know this off topic but I just remembered an actor that’s in “ Days of Thunder “ you’ll like that one as well
Every "sequal" ignores what should have been John's biggest regret, not saving hundreds of innocent passengers.
before the internet, the tv was massive :D and btw the third part is a rare occasion then the story gets BETTER
After the 3rd film is when they jump the shark with the series, but everything until this is great action movie gold.
The lead villain was also in Shawshank. Brooks held a knife to his neck.
Another classic Christmas movie!
Thank you for honoring Bruce Williss today. The announcement of his retiring from acting due to health challenges made me very sad. I'm going to watch The Fifth Element tonight myself. Have you seen it?
I love how John McClane is supposed to be in DC at Dulles Airport, and he picks up a Pacific Bell pay phone. 😬
I have the same morning routine as William Saddler in this film
It was a real surprising ride in the cinema. Given that they pulled such brilliance with the first one, a sequel seemed much more like something they ought to have utterly avoided, and yet Harlin and the team pulled off a great one.
Can't wait for your reaction to Die Hard 3. My personal favorite..
Such a coincidence with today's news. Bruce Willis' greatest gift has always been his wittiscism, snark, and he even has a pretty solid singing voice. I k ow it's going to rough for him. I hope he can make it through emotionally and spiritually.
