Lol! When I got my Passat the beautiful door closing sound was one of the things I first noticed. Closing that door in an underground car park is a dream!

Lol! Funny review! We have the later Face-lift in Highline trim with leather and the newer common-rail 2.0 TDI and DSG. It's very quiet and easy to drive. I have to say, it's been a fantastic car. Turbo failed at 200k but it is on 270k and its been faultless. I like the look of it, but it is so boring to drive or travel in! Very good A-B comfortable vehicle though. Certainly have an appreciation for it! 🙂
@@ProjectNigel I do understand why it's considered 'boring', but still, it's an overstatement. for example, car journalists say that ford mondeo isn't 'dull' and it's 'fun' to drive, so I'd like to define more precisely WHAT MAKES A CAR DULL TO DRIVE because both cars have relatively comparable grip and body lean in corners. vw has good manual 'box, I am not sure for ford's, but I'm guessing it's ok, and then the difference is down to the steering of those cars and nothing else....
As a 17 year old, this is my first car but due to the timing belt being all fucked up, we had to replace the entire engine for $2,500 and buy a new AC unit. After having that done, two months later and now we are having the engine stall with the sensors not syncing correctly so it stalls the car. I love this car and I hope that it does not become a lemon because I literally cannot see myself in a Honda because this car is not like any car in my town with only seeing two other B6 passats on the streets and if I ever did get a Honda, I wouldn’t feel special about having a special and unique car in my area. I love not being normal and basic. In your opinion, is it worth it to keep the car?
You’re absolutely right. Passat 2006 and forward are among the most worst cars you could ever own. I’m a mechanic myself, and these cars you should not even touch. Run instead!

Ah so I was Right I don't really like them not one Vw better car's it's built like a tank lol. What a Passat with no rusty wing's. Lol temp fault air bag fault rofl is it the 2.0 Tdi twin cam 😂😂 Not a patch on the old B5.5 I liked them so much I had 14 of them That was one the things I didn't like an eletric hand brake who an earth needs that it's not if it will fail but when it will fail. Kebabs should be eaten with beer lol. Normal for none of them buttons to work lol.
My B6 is a little newer (2010) and as soon as you insert the key there is a message that says to press the clutch and then the key itself becomes a push button switch. Also, my door shuts with a nice clunk - you can see the door in this video is slightly misaligned so possibly damaged. The electric handbrake is a PITA though!
I'll have to be honest, I'm a VW fan. I had a B6 Passat and it was an awful piece of crap. Great car when it was working, but it gave me some cruel trouble. ECU failed, couldn't start car, parking brake was starting to fail, left front door fell down, left window would bang constantly trying to close and fall back down into the door, then you had to retry again and it went back up no problem? This is one is more a design fault now than reliability, but putting the boot opening switch right beside the fuel filler switch. I kept getting them wrong, every single time. If I wanted to put diesel in, I opened the boot. If I wanted to open the put, I opened the fuel cap. Parking brake, yes I like the electronic brake personally when they're working, but stupid place for it up on the dashboard, oh and it kept blowing bulbs. I then bought two insignias, they were fine and I now have a B8 2018 Volkswagen Passat dsg and it's a vastly improved car over the B6. It actually feels premium, and works flawlessly everytime 👌
@@Edvard.Munchkin Because it always has some niggling fault, so it was going to be hard to sell it with fault codes. I fix them and a week later, another pops up. I am resigned to the fact it will never be 100%, so will probably sell it for whatever.

to get a passat to start u hold the push the key and hold it in till it starts example ur key is the starting button

In many ways it's perfect, and I wouldn't worry about it getting dented
I tried that expression and now my face is permanently stuck like that... i'd love to feel an airbag go off in my face!
What is that noise Lynn? 🤣 listen to the servos. It's like music itself. 😂
I have loads of airbags if you fancy a play 😆

I do like the B5.5 Variant 1.9TDI much more. Also the quality is lot better and like a tank. In my opinion the B6 is the worst Passat ever built.
I had a B5 a couple of years back. The 1.8 turbo. Pretty gutless but I agree about the quality being loads better.
I disagree. The b6 Passat is the worst CAR ever!!!
try a 2010 vw passat r-line

You are like me, except you are younger and better looking. M.
How do you start an automatic ? there's no clutch
You just push the key and keep it pushed until the engine cranks over
You have to push the brake pedal instead.
I have B8 Dsg, you just start it like every other automatic. Press the brake, and away you go
I know this video is 2 years old but ur really don’t understand how to start this car normally. It is really easy
It was a joke
