I was at this show. Nassau Coliseum. Sabbath fans outnumbered and were more recognizable. People walking in cloaks with crosses burning candles. I still can’t believe it. Never see anything like it again.
Talent-wise BÖC had the Sabs covered. BD > TI, JB > GB. Ronnie James Dio was a bit of an equalizer on vocals. I love Eric Bloom, but Dio's presence was very strong and compelling. The Sabs didn't like sharing the bill with the Oyster Boys. I think they had to know the guys from Long Island had the goods on them.
I was there as well. 5th row, I can see a glimpse of an old friend in the movie. He was on my left and my future first wife was on my right with her friend on her right. Black sabbath was our favorite and they were awesome. @@johnkeenan1829
I didn't see these particular shows, but I DID see both bands. In fact, Sabbath... THAT year, was my first concert EVER. This brings back great memories. Didn't know you shot these guys too. Wow.
My friend Dave Johnson was fire hosed outside...he went out for a smoke, saw some guys flip over a car, and next thing he new he was knocked down and drenched...ahh, the 80s!!
Went to Stony Brook University to see Grand Funk Railroad, & Bloodrock in 1970 but they oversold the seats and locked the doors, ticket holders smashed the glass doors and rushed the security ( my first riot at 15 yrs old),
I remember this tour funny how much better BOC was then Black Sabbath and people hardly knew anything about Blue Öyster Cult. Fan slowly started leaving after Black Sabbath came on stage.
I like BOC , but that version of "Born To Be Wild" sucked hard. I'm waiting for Buck to actually play something and 3 minutes of noise with nothing. Great band, great guitarist, shitty song .

Alot of people say BOC blew Black Sabbath away on this tour,I'm one of them, Boston Garden

I got my ticket stub in my scrapbook. Cities On Flame, Godzilla, and RJD at the same show. Rock and Roll at its finest.
Great work as always. sorry we didn't get to see you 2 weeks ago. 😔
Greatest tour of all fucking time. I saw it 7 cities, I wish it had been more. I was gonna edit, but my point was made, stupid autocorrect.

Saw them at Jefferson stadium in Atlanta.
Anyone know where the rest of this film can be seen?
