I just want you to know that your relaxed approach to painting and instruction is unmatched on RUclips. Shame on them for making it harder for people to find/see you!😂
I always paint with my 4 year old toddler and she and I enjoy this painting process. Every time we learn new techniques and I love watching her using them on her art. Thank you for teaching and supporting new artists young and old😊
I love your approach, and listening to you talk through your process. I'm also frustrated with RUclips, and will try and remember to comment on each video I watch, and visit your home page. The world needs your channel!!
This was a great lesson! I tried lifting after watching your sailboat tutorial & loved the results. This floral painting looks beautiful & I am eager to give it a go. Thanks for your clear concise instruction - it is much appreciated.
So relaxing and successful! Your videos are the most helpful I've found for beginners. So many techniques to learn, and you just keep offering tips on how to make them work. Thanks!
Always have watched you and will do so till my time! Your enthusiasm knows no bounds! Please continue to give us your valuable encouraging tutorials. We amateurs need that so much!
I did watch and i loved it. Interesting about your love of color i wonder if your wardrobe is full of bright colors and your home also. Have a wonderful day. Love your tutorials.
That was very interesting Ellen. Yesterday I was actually lifting in a sunset setting, lifting out driftwood shapes on the beach. I was using Canson Montval Paper and it is awesome. I had gotten a block of Stonehenge 300 lb paper and was very disappointed in it. When I used wet on wet, I lost my drawing. When I took the tape off it tore the paper, even when I used heat! I was resigned to only use Arches when I got gifted with a large block of 10 x 14 Montval, so I decided to divide it up and did some smaller paintings. I couldn't believe how good that paper is, and its not cotton! I did masking, lifting, wet on wet and whatever else I could think of and it was wonderful. I would recommend it as a great, less expensive paper than Arches. I know you were using Bee Creative 100% cotton sketchbooks a while ago. I used to use them before Covid 19 and those sketch books were fantastic, but I have to say I was disappointed in the new ones. The tape rips the paper and you can't put masking fluid on it. You could on the old ones. I wondered if you had an opinion on that paper. So my hubby loved your painting of atmospheric daisies, so I am going to give it a try on the Montval paper. Thank you so much for all you have given to me and I know others feel the same. I have learned so much from you and will always be grateful.
This is wonderful! I appreciate these types of tutorials that are like playing/experimenting/learning all at once. Thanks for sharing this lovely piece.
Oh, I want to try this one. I so appreciate all the different techniques you share. I'm always learning from you. I so appreciate how the camera angle you use allows us to see what you're doing each brush stroke. I have vision loss and your videos are easy for me to see and understand. Thank you!
Thanks, Ellen! I have a friend's birthday coming up and I'm going to try this! Question: Someone gave me black watercolor paper. Have you ever used it? I figured I'd try metallics. Not sure.
Lovely. I’ve just discovered watercolor painting. I’m anxious to try it. Following you and enjoying so much. I look forward to getting started one day soon. Thank you for sharing your talent and color inspirations. ❤
Hi! Ellen, I always enjoy watching your tutorials and have learnt so much on how to handle watercolour, my problem mostly was not freeing myself up and being more loose trying too hard to be perfect so am very thankful to you for helping me overcome that but still find myself getting a bit tight at times. However I have painted these wild flowers and really enjoyed it, made a couple of changes only, with the lifting out on the flowers found it a bit difficult as it was a very hot day here in Australia 36deg Celsius with the paint drying too quick so had to add a little white, I am trying to forward a photo of the painting to you but not sure how to do that, I’m not very tech, but will try. Thanking you Ellen, wishing you are very Happy Healthy New Year. Sylvia 🎉🌻❤️
This looks so whimsical. I have a strange relationship with lifting. Maybe the reason is that i use student grade paints but a lot of times the paints really stain the paper and I'm not able to get a clean look.

Jealous rain! Send to texas!
My water color paper does not stay wet enough to lift any suggestions even though I'm using 100% cotton.
Thank you for your sharing of your gift.
Hey you tube, Ellen is great, elevate her, don’t bury her.

Wat is wed on wed??? Is that the category of these Technics?
So how hard was this??? ***** VERY!******** I'll try this again when I get up the nerve.
Why does my tapping and loose painting look so bad?
