Battle of the Tigers - Wet Rally

2001 Season Finale - the castrol independence rally which opened with a Super special stage at Kaazi camping grounds quickly followed by a nighet section around Mpigi. Top billing was Emmanuel Katto vs Moses Lumala both driving Toyota Celica Turbo 4WD ST185. Kaka Jr and Kuku Ranjit switch to Subaru Imprezas from VW Golf GTi. Dipu Ruparelia had also switched from Toyota Celica to Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 4 which Charlie Lubega had crashed during the Formula Shell event a couple of months before. Chipper Adams had also crashed and written off his Lancer Evo 5 but his co-driver JB was on-hand to guide Katto. This footage was originally produced by DeanMac Motorsports.

Thanks for the video, Omar. Agile GT4s and the rumbling sound of the boxer engines always created a buzz. This footage is nostalgic. Was Emma's car emitting blue smoke? Where are these cars, Issa Numba's Audi and Mzee Katende's Escort? I hope they were not scrapped. Mzee Katende wore a jockey helmet (Kabalasi)🤠🤠

yeah, Katto's celica was smoking a wee bit. All celicas moved from here to Italy in 2006. Numba's audi I can't say but the ford escort is there at Mzee Katende's house.
