Vieux is not View,Fort is French.Sir John Compton always stressed that Looshans must pronounce the name of the town correctly.
It ok ....Only human born to make mistake....

For those who don’t know, ‘Vieux Fort’ means ‘Old Fort’ in French. So when Saint Lucians speak English, we pronounce it as “View Fort” (which is wrong obviously) but when we speak Creole, we say it the proper way (in French). Also, Sir John Compton was our first Prime Minister after gaining independence from 🇬🇧.
If you say Vieux Fort or View Fort everyone knows where you're referring to...but it's always okay to be corrected
