TBH Garou is one of my fav character, he just got bullied into hating heroes and it all starting going down and he also had a sense of justice. it's unfortunate that the bullies transformed him like this
I love Garou, easily my top 5 favorite character of all time, his story is relatable to me. Heroes, or so-called good, are sometimes corrupt and ignorant to the core.
Garou will just kill you if you piss him off. Being sympathetic to children is so damn easy and over used, but other than that he is a good character but his motivation is stupid. Being bullied and being evil shouldn't be mutually exclusive. Dude rolls around beating up heroes cause he has issues. He becomes stronger and stronger for almost no reason. Sometimes it's a little too plot armor heavy. What I do love is that Saitama just knocks him out effortlessly more than once.

Besides this while you would be correct on it being cliche it's not because garou is actually correct and isn't even close to true evil because he would protect the weak. It just happens that garou doesn't see that heroes are humans too and while some are evil, some are also good untill satama appears and says he doesn't do it because of the money or take, but does it because he's genuinely a nice guy and wants to protect humanity. Well Rapid punches aren't effective unless you know how to punch, if you know what you're doing and depending on the person you're fighting you could do that just for fun.

Extremely fast but less power behind each blow. It depends a lot on the position of your opponent and where exactly you are targeting. For instance theres NO WAY an average human could hold up to an entire burst of my chain punches on the face. But there’s actually more than one way to fast punch too! You can do it saitama style with the same amount of full extension power too!

Because it looked bad at various times especially around the tournament and invasion arcs. Plus it's not just art and animation, sound design is terrible, pacing is inconsistent due to trying to jam everything from the manga in just to reach to what is the halfway point of buildup to the MA arc not to mention fucking up many fights like metal bat vs Garou.
@I am Inevitable Its because the sound design was done by the guy who does sound for Jojo and Beserl 2016. Only his sound effects work with jojo since their fights aren't high scale like OPM.
And besides he eventually got to a point where he wasnt even budged by a punch from saitama (his phase 2) and saitama pointed out what he actually wanted to be was a hero but he picked the easier path of the monster
There is a connection between Garou and his "Not remember" when saitama knocks him out. Its an inner instinct, its his body and mind clearing all memories of saitama's attack on him, so that he does not search for revenge because that would mean death. Truly amazing ability in itself! Its much the same as when when Carnage Kabuto attacked saitama and he retreated without even thinking, his body took over. garou's is on an entirely higher level, his conscious see's memories as the threat and erases them. Either that or he got hit so hard his brain just got rattled lol.

Actually there's more to his ideals than simply just a childish game. A monster to him is an Outcast to society who people always treat terribly. He's fighting for Outcasts not Monsters.
Garou is the true definition of antihero. Protecting the weak and recover the justice he wants it. Garou was so kind to kids and that’s just makes me fall in love with him more

Watchdog Man would've defeated Garou if he decided to go outside of his territory, and Metal Bat would've killed Garou with his last attempted strike if his sister didn't stop him. (Granted, Metal Bat technically swung when Garou's back was turned but no rules in a fight like that).
The one thing about one punch man is about how balanced it is. Even though the main character is op and can kill basically anyone it’s not like saitama just automatic kills any villain he hears about. The author made the side characters more of a character. They made them fight the villains and not saitama just killing them but when they were defeated he showed up and instead of killing him easily he talked it through with garou this is why opm is so good. It’s because of how much the author cares about the side characters

She didn't really "stop" him, but he had promised not to expose her to the violence of his job, and when she just happened to find him in the middle of a fight, as she was looking for him, he stopped himself when he realized she was there, so she wouldn't see her brother cave somebody's head in.

Garou is an allegory for the dangers of idolizing the "sympathetic villain", ironically both being a sympathetic villain and being inspired by one. he just hated how unfair it was for someone to be considered inherent deserving of any terrible thing a "hero" wanted to do to them just because they were called a "monster". though in reality some "monsters" are considered as such because of their terrible and indefensible actions and/or desires and not due to some completely random and arbitrary designation. basically, Garou never learned about ethical philosophy, but then again almost no one has.
The amount of people that just completely eat up any message without analysis worries me. Too many have become desensitized to critical thinking choosing instead to follow "influencers" instead.
Honestly garou is a dedicated man he also had a very understandably sad childhood and i love it when he protects the little kid and shows concern for him

I was wondering if these monsters have lifespan? If a human become a monster, does lifespan apply human > monster? Or they completely abandon their humanity's lifespan concepts and become immortal?

The one thing about one punch man is about how balanced it is. Even though the main character is op and can kill basically anyone it’s not like saitama just automatic kills any villain he hears about. The author made the side characters more of a character. They made them fight the villains and not saitama just killing them but when they were defeated he showed up and instead of killing him easily he talked it through with garou this is why opm is so good. It’s because of how much the author cares about the side characters

I know it's not her fault but it annoys me so much how the sister stops metal bat right when he's about to win
She didn't really "stop" him, but he had promised not to expose her to the violence of his job, and when she just happened to find him in the middle of a fight, as she was looking for him, he stopped himself when he realized she was there, so she wouldn't see her brother cave somebody's head in.

this video in a nutshell: a quick story about a tortured soul that never got even an opinion, and couldn't handle the sheer stress.
Garou is an allegory for the dangers of idolizing the "sympathetic villain", ironically both being a sympathetic villain and being inspired by one. he just hated how unfair it was for someone to be considered inherent deserving of any terrible thing a "hero" wanted to do to them just because they were called a "monster". though in reality some "monsters" are considered as such because of their terrible and indefensible actions and/or desires and not due to some completely random and arbitrary designation.
basically, Garou never learned about ethical philosophy, but then again almost no one has.
The amount of people that just completely eat up any message without analysis worries me. Too many have become desensitized to critical thinking choosing instead to follow "influencers" instead.
