Introduction

Back to 2021, we posted a teardown video of the third generation of Baseus 65W GaN charger, which has gotten many views. And today, we got the fifth generation of this 65W charger, which is equipped with two USB-C and a USB-A port. We gonna take it apart and see if there are any improvements to the previous generation.

Nice detailed review, i liked it, but you missed a small but very important detail, the electrolytic's temperature rating, i would guess they are all at least 105c... And btw you earned a new subscriber here :)
How should one judge that they have saved the copper sheet for cooling compared to the previously tested model?

Please review the baseus gan5 super slim! Test is this 65watt full output only work for less than 15 minutes charging time.
There is Gan 6 pro 65w with 2c 2a. Wish you preview it soon, as I test type c1 and type c2 cannot max 45w+20w as advertised, it only output 20w type C1 and 13 to 15w on Type C2 port while charging 2 devices at the same time.
Could you do a Review, similar to what you did for the Ugreen 65W?
What about difference between GAN 5 and GAN 3 model?

very good test, would be perfect if there would be some futher measurements like voltage, heat and efficiency
It is what it is, and for that it is interesting, but I would not call this mostly dissection a test. Unfortunately, it is still hard to tell whether the charger would be a good buy.
Look for AllThingsOnePlace. He tests the actual power adapters instead of a superficial glance of the components during a teardown. Power Factor correction, Quiescent current, etc... look for him. I believe this one wasn't a top performer...

Hello, between this Baseus 65w gan5pro and the Anker 735 65w ganprime, which one is better and which one has better build quality? Which one could last longer?
I have both, but I give that Anker back, the Baseus performed a lot better.

I hope you have time to teardown wewatch 65 gan charger the cheapest price i found on Lazada for about 10 dollars.
Does not seem to offer power factor correction and does not adhere to DOE VI compliance.
Is it a good charger though? Is it worth buying?
I see a lot of people complaining about "death", stopping working... is this common in this model or in previous versions? I'm in doubt between this and a 4-port 100w Gan2 also from Baseus. what do you think? I like this model for its compact size.
this problem is also present in mobile phone car chargers

We should send you the ones that fail to find the issue I remember having a couple 3rd generation failed on me. Regardless I'm trying the latest model from Amazon USA CCGAN65S2-X
Some components of 5th version are stable than the 3rd, right? Some users and reviewers complained about the 3rd like “suddenly death”.

Are you really talking about this recent GaN5 model? And did you complain about the defective chargers to the manufacturer? What was your experience with them?
@@juergenlilien2067 I have the EU model of the same. It also broke after limited usage (while charging from the USB-A plug). Got a refund from Baseus. I opened and checked input connections and the fuse. Resoldered most points. But it didnt help.
When the time i receive, the USB-C 2nd port fail.... after 4month of usage, the product totally KO... 1st time using this product... So disappointed
Mine dies in 3 months. The reason that I found is the foldable plug. Before it completely dies, I have to not fold the plug all the way out to get it to work. Very sadly, it’s a good charger but only a bad plug. Now I’m looking for a GaN charger with a changeable plug or power cord so I can comfortably use with wall plug.
Yes Baseus charger and cable suck just like Aukey. They might have more tech or charging protocols packed in there but they don't last at all and their warranty customer service sucks, even worst the cable will give you electrical shock if you pair it with any charger whether it is Baseus, Anker or Ugreen (electrical shock comes from Baseus cable)

Yes it does. Any carger with pps 3.0 supports samsungs 45watt charging

turns out i misread, both noth support vooc/dart
I bought recent GaN3 and return it to buy GaN5. My GaN3 was disconecting other outputs when connecting new device. Also on C2 port my phone (Samsung A33 max 25W PD) was charging faster 12W while in use and on C1 port it does not wanted to charge at all (when in use). Off screen they worked the same 25W. I hope this new chip fixed it. Still waiting for the GaN5 to arrive. Thanks for this video.

it is normal for it to disconnect other devices because it needs to negotiate all devices charging protocols
