I miss Djibouti do much, I was stationed as a contractor at camp Lemmonier. All of the people of Djibouti are beautiful. Thank you Djibouti for showing me LOVE....
Cordialement Thierry
Djibouti has kind people and beautiful beaches. I had the best gelato and tea there. French market has good shopping for food. The inactive volcanos are also so beautiful. I enjoyed seeing the animals also. There were many goats, sheep, and camels. I even saw hyena, and a white tailed mongoose once. The video shows the city only and not the landscapes and villages. It was a different lifestyle there. It was so much more relaxed.
It seems a nice city to walk around, because trafic isn't heavy and people walk or stay around with educated gestures (absence of noisy and gentle manners are wonderful). I loved the arcades on many buidings, and popular markets here in Rio de Janeiro are very similar to those ones appearing on his video, so it seems familiar for me. Thanks for sharing with us : )
Thanks for uploading. For personal enrichment, I'm studying countries of all continents and am finding there is not much scenic footage of Djibouti. I'm grateful for today's technology. 8D
I was at Camp Lemmonier when it was just coming up. Had a great time there. People are poor but will render hospitality in a heat beat. Got to meet and train with some Foriegn legioneers in the desert. At night this place rocks.
I was there last month. Its a quiet, dirty city. The people are extremely friendly. The only place where you can walk your 'pet goat ' in the middle of moving traffic & not be judged.
I think if the government and the people would clean up where you drove through it would really look nice, I noticed that the buildings are quite charming if given the right treatment.
Like any city, Djibouti has its pros and cons, but as for me, this is the city where I married my beautiful wife and together created a family. Life is what you make of the opportunities given to you, no matter where you are.
Well, when I was in the U.S.Navy back in 1988, my ship went there. the people were very friendly, but the city was very trashy. We even noticed a guy taking a crap on the pier. When he finished he stood up and walked away as if nothing was wrong. No toilet paper or anything. I decided I wouldn't eat anything there.
