in this industry, people are taken advantage of young women when they see them successful. not just olivia, even taylor swift herself was facing the exact same thing back in her days.
1. TS didn't do any of this. It's just the legal team. 2. Having 50% of the song doesn't mean anything. Songwriter's, Composers, Arrangers and Producers split the profits and also the Master owners get theirs. Olivia couldn't give away 50% of other people's profit.
But it didn’t really cost her 2 million because without TS and Paramore those songs may not have been as successful. Sure, she lost some money, but she’s still making a ton of money and now her reputation is better, as a legal battle would’ve likely tarnished her reputation.
Wow two million- so sad. Where did the other two million go? Olivia is fine yall😭 she's not struggling to put food on the table. Plus she's a great artist, so there are many more songs to come most likely.
Each and every time when i see someone talk abput this issue they are people defending olivia for having the same idea (what a coincidence) just because she is rich and pretty it doesn't mean that she can get away with stealing people's ideas/art. Doubt any of this was of any artist's personal decision, record labels have a team of attorneys, it's their job to protect their talent's best interest
Is ok get inspiration from the artists you love, I do this, you do this, our idols do this. But the songs are eerily similar, when I heard Deja Vu it felt almost like identity theft. Olivia can make good music, but that wasn't a good start to her career. Examples? "I hope you're ok" is an amazing song and she didn't need support from another artists to do it.
Why is the assumption always that she was forced to do this to avoid lawsuits and not because she's being honest about who inspired her music? I mean maybe she doesnt deserve to lose money over this but people always try to create unnecessary beef between artists
inspiration is so different from straight up plagiarism. i love paramore but good 4 u and misery business, while they do share similar vibes, are wildly different songs. 50% is a helluva lot, if that's what paramore asked for i'm slightly disappointed in them.

There’s differences between “inspired by” and copy . I think deja vu and good 4 u is songs that inspired by not copy .
Maybe if you didn’t copy then then you wouldn’t have to pay 2 million dollars
The differences between Olivia and Sabrina. They both love Taylor swift but Sabrina's inspiration is Taylor swift. Not Taylor's music.
Taylor also helped her write songs for sour so I’m pretty sure she gave her the rights to her song or however that works
Good move on her part as it likely would’ve been at least 10 times more if she were sued, the 2 mil would likely have just been in lawyer fees
Nowadays most bands sample everyone else, sometimes they get sued sometimes they don't.
rich ppl problems 😂as if swift needs more money
Honestly why couldn't it just be like 5%? 50% seems ridculously high
Right I would understand if the entire song was an exact copy but it's not 50% is way too high
@@RoriannaMobley Yeah it should be like 5%
Then she shouldn’t have it copyright it 😅
Wow two million- so sad. Where did the other two million go? Olivia is fine yall😭 she's not struggling to put food on the table. Plus she's a great artist, so there are many more songs to come most likely.
IF she's not her own producer, the person behind the board is to blame.
Each and every time when i see someone talk abput this issue they are people defending olivia for having the same idea (what a coincidence) just because she is rich and pretty it doesn't mean that she can get away with stealing people's ideas/art. If a college student forgets to mention one source and gets caught they are expelled from college. This is the exactly same thing.
Doubt any of this was of any artist's personal decision, record labels have a team of attorneys, it's their job to protect their talent's best interest
A little birdie told me that her album was written by Paramore so I’m not surprised
Olivia make's her own songs
50% for Deja Vu is too much! There’s like 70 lines and only 3 sound like they’re inspired from Taylor
Taylor is so greedy ! I feel like she is such a shady person but we let it all slide because of her music
Not cool
Taylor wasn’t gonna sue her, Olivia only gave her credit because she respected her
Olivia gave credits to Taylor for three songs from sour album actually
Okay so the situation was resolved cuz she didn't steal it she just ended up with similar stuff and and the band and Taylor worked it out peacefully
Guys, Taylor littarly called Olivia her daugther.
It was the what option she would have to pay more for a lawsuit and tbh she shouldn’t have copied
Well when you can’t come up with something original I guess it’s good to get ahead of the copyright infringements.
ALL THESE HATERS MAKING IT LOOK LIKE OLIVIA STOLE SOMETHING WHEN IT'S ALL PURE INSPIRATION FROM AN IDOL SHE HAD FOR SO LONG😂
She should give Miley Cyrus credits for new 'vampire' too, miley's 'angels like you' is plagiarised
STOP ACCUSING OLIVIA SHE IS AMAZING SHE JUST LOVES TAYLOR
She is a great singer. She will produce more songs tho. She can make more money.
also people were calling out ‘brutal’
even 1 step fwd, 3 steps back... she gave credits to taylor because of interpolation from taylors new years day
2 mil is nothing compared to the lawsuits that would have happened. So if anything that's cheap AF
Taylor helped her write the song and in my opinion the song cruel summer and dega vu don't sound similar.
she didnt help her
This seems more like sampling to me, kind of like what ava max does
Why is the assumption always that she was forced to do this to avoid lawsuits and not because she's being honest about who inspired her music? I mean maybe she doesnt deserve to lose money over this but people always try to create unnecessary beef between artists
Now Taylor's doing era tour with Hayley from Paramore.
inspiration is so different from straight up plagiarism. i love paramore but good 4 u and misery business, while they do share similar vibes, are wildly different songs. 50% is a helluva lot, if that's what paramore asked for i'm slightly disappointed in them.
Just a theory but I sometimes feel things like this were planned.
With all of them or just her team idk, but youd be lying if you said it doesnt make her and her music more popular.
That's bullshit they should have to give everyone that has inspired them 50% of all their shit
The fans shouldn’t compare Olivia’s songs to anyone else’s
Yena Hate Rodrigo is very very cute song.
Yena herself is like a mini rabbit
For some reason I can’t stop asking questions like why are ya fighting over a song and Olivia why do you do in the first place?
Olivia, just make your own music 🤦🏻♂️
