I just realised that nickelodeon put me on to Funkadelic as a little six-year-old white boy watching the Good Burger movie, in that scene where Ed makes all of the patients at that insane asylum dance as a distraction lol
This song is masterpiece…wow…..(Genius) It gives me totally new perspective hearing it in a-cappella, in the original recording there are parts that are not clear and defined because those parts are masked by the mix. I didn’t know that in the first bridge (and breakdown) the followings background vocals are the following: “Round and round the floor we dance and I’d love to get away with her” When you here the original mix this cherry is totally drowned out..(wow) If I was Gorge there is no way I would’ve let that imperfection in the mix not be corrected. There needs to be a meticulous remix and re-issue of this song….yea.

Wow!!! this is the bombdotcom, a tried & true Funkadelic classic, (not just) Knee Deep!! featuring: George Clinton, Philippe Wynne, Gary Shider, & Jessica Cleaves nailing the Opera styled vocals and the rest of the P Funk crew were amazing on this acapella arrangement, I'm knee-deep, immersed in Funk so deep. I love it! you can't beat the timeless P-Funk sound no matter how hard you try!! and funk is... its own reward!

me too, i was lucky enough when i was a roadie for zapp and roger ,to have a 30 min conversation with ray Sitngray Davis (p funk bass voice) when he was touring with zapp ,about the making of knee deep, he told me how teams of singers stayed across the street from studio and would record certain parts , about 40 singers in all, and junie and phillyppe wynn added the final vocal parts... and . bootsy on drums Ray let me sample him into my mpc-60 that night, in redondo beach "the strand" club, and Tupac and suge , and T-boz(TLC) AND K-c and Jo Jo (jodeci) got on stage with Zapp. Tupac had just got out of jail and supprised everyone and performed Calififornia Love with roger and zapp i was there to open secret back door entrance so nobody would know tupac was in the building, and i handed him the mike......
