Here’s the thing people forget about renting, often times you can paint on the walls all you want - you’re just expected to paint it back when you move out. A lot of apartments don’t allow it at all, but a lot do! But even with the ones that don’t, it isn’t *that* much worse to buy one of those rolls of peel and stick wallpaper and paint on that, you just have to buy a textured roll and know that it’s only gonna be a one time use because the paint won’t let it roll back up as neatly for reuse.
QuikTrip go to home Depot buy a piece of sheetrock, buy some window trim enough or whatever kind of trim you want to go around it to hide the edges, bring it home, nail it to the wall as you would a picture or anything else make sure it's in a stud. Then let your inner creativity go off on it. The good thing about this when you move you can bring it to a new home. And then you don't destroy the wall behind it. Besides some normal nail holes that you would probably put it in already hanging up shelves and pictures.
I like that you can tell she really made it for him. Obviously it's still her style, but she played into themes he liked and didn't just do whatever she felt like.

Reminder it’s gonna take a few coats for the cheaper brand vs the 65-99 that’s 2 coats max
I work in property management and every time I see a rental, I have to take a picture for my boss and when we give them their security deposit report, they get all mad that they didn’t do the things they did and I’m like “girl / dude, you legit did it to your own apartment” But this was funny 😂😂😂
