I once read an article, I wish I had this article to show as reference now! Anyway I remember that it was written by a Jewish man who said that the historical manger was not a feeding trough. A manger was a room (probably at the bottom of the house)where they kept the white lambs. It was swept clean and the lambs legs were bandaged in swaddling to prevent them from getting dirty. These were the lambs (without spot or blemish) taken to the temple for sacrifice. This makes so much sense to me. That Jesus (the Lamb of God) would be born in a "manger", the ultimate sacrificial Lamb. It would be suitable because it was kept so clean. Interesting!
You're absolutely right! And that's why sola scriptura doesn't work, because it can never account for such details and nuances. It also demonstrates His divine humility! How wonderful is our God! 👏🏽

The rumor is true that the disciples all had to share one, small car, manufactured by Honda... _"And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with _*_one accord_*_ in one place."_ - Acts 2:1
Mike, Pentecost (Shavuot) is a _yom tov,_ and so the disciples wouldn't have been driving, _unless_ they drove to Shul before it started and parked it nearby.
99% of it is mythology that tries to explains the relations between star constilations and various tribes. Esau and Jacob just jumps to mind. There is almost zero historical proof for any of it. Mark the first gospel had no nativity or ascention into heaven. Moses and Abraham is entirely fictional.
@@theolajola It is called history and those researching it is called historians. If you really want to learn something different watch a few vids by critical Bible scholars like dr Robert Price and Dr Richard Carrier. They reignited my love of the Bible.
@@damarismbatia2029 that is correct, the bible teaches, in Matthew 2, that wise men came from the east, verse 1. In verse 11 3 gifts are mentioned, but never once is it said that there were only 3 wise men, in fact, no number of men are given.
As long as we understand the Gospel we can sort the rest out later, no need to stress to much about this stuff. If we just keep praying and reading the Bible God will teach us what he wants us to learn 😀❤️
I used to visit my grandmother's church when 8 year old. I spent Christmas vacation with her one time and all the parts in the Christmas play had been filled by the regularly attending children . I was very sad and a woman managing the play said I could be the yule log carrier. I accepted the role but later after reading the passage I remember protesting that there was no such thing as a yule log. I was criticized for refusing to carry this log. I ended up just following the Wiseman up the church aisle. Yes I was just 8 but I could read.
Well make sure everyone cuts Santa Claus out of their Christmas because he's not in the bible. Neither is Christmas for that matter. So much pagan stuff that Christians are happy to use so they can have one foot in the world
Some scholars believe that Moses was making reference to his inability to speak Hebrew fluently. Because he grew up in the “ways of Egypt” - and was mighty in word and deed, as Stephen said - he didn’t speak Hebrew with the right accent. Therefore, he wouldn’t have the social equity to be the leader of the Israelites.
I really appreciate your thorough reading of scripture. As Paul instructed Timothy, we should diligently study so that we can "rightly divide" the word of God (2 Tim. 2:15).
Sticking with Christmas, the number of "wise men" that came to see Jesus is a very common misconception. I heard it nonstop growing up (plus virtually every nativity scene/play/movie depicts it) that there were 3 "wise men". Of course the Bible doesn't give a hard number. It just says magi(translated to wise men). Many traditions assume 3 because they brought 3 distinct gifts.
also the "wise men" most likely showed up anywhere between 40days to 2years after the birth, only the shepherds were directed to go. Might also want to add that the account of his birth were not written by witnesses.
@@NicholasproclaimerofMessiah As a fellow brother in the Christ Yeshua I would agree, however if presenting such to those of another faith be it a religion or science alone, It is good to be ready to defend your trust in the evidence available from all angles.
@@brianjohnson8666 According to Strong's Concordance the word translated as "wise men," is "magos" and means "a magus, sage of the magician religion, magician, astrologer, wise man." Making the terms "magi," "wise men," and "astrologers" all proper translations. Since they are coming from the East it is altogether possible these were astrologers out of Persia. Yet even that, like there number, is not specified in the Bible.
Today, a lady at my church was talking about Elijah being taken up in the chariot and I corrected her, saying it was a whirlwind. She was shocked and thankful for the correction. She had always been taught he was taken up in the chariot through art and songs as she grew up; she’s in her70’s. I used to think similar as well, and it’s why I always encourage people to read their bibles. The smallest change can make a huge difference. Som people are shocked to find that Elisha was with him, and that if he wanted a double portion, he had to see when he was taken; the chariot was a distraction. Elisha kept his eyes on his master and that is such a powerful lesson.
I think the chariot is a prophetic expression of the spirit/wind that carried Eliyah away. The word "spirit" means "gust of air" so a whirlwind is symbolic of spirit. I don't think it was a distraction, rather I find it ironic that you offered an extra-biblical interpretation. Now, I've offered an interpretation too, but I said "I think" whereas you stated your interpretation as fact. If my thought is correct, then the chariot is one and the same as the whirlwind; so that's a significant possibility unless we have reason to reject it. I mean, I don't have that text memorized or anything, maybe I'm missing something. I'm going to start daily Scripture reviews soon (as in RUclips videos on my channel), so in a few years I'll know our Bible much more exactly than I do now.
And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so. And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan; 2 Kings 2:9-13 KJV
Amazing what people think they know without reading the Bible for themselves. There is a verse that reads, "the traditions of men make the Word of GOD to no effect."
I was always taught that the teaching of the Satan being a sort of worship leader before his rebellion was related to the understanding that he is a cherub/seraphim- one of the living creatures that are directly beneath the throne of God. In Revelation, the four living creatures seem to have a connection to when worship starts and stops. I thought that was why the Satan is said to have once been a “worship leader.” Either way, thank you for this video and information! It’s always a joy to try to learn and understand Scripture more, and correct any misconceptions I hold.
Here's another missed point of a Bible passage: The Widow's Mite. It is often thought it is an admonition for sacrificial giving - perhaps but that is secondary. The passage is an implied rebuke from Jesus concerning the Pharisees who put this woman in her penury. This theme flows from the previous chapter. There are NO adjectives commending the widow for her offering or condemning those who gave out of their abundance. Jesus made a stark observation.
I'm glad you did this, Alisa, because this is an important thing to remember: it's an unwise practice to go beyond what is stated in Scripture with our own imaginings, even if those speculations are innocently intended.
@Team Jesus Unity Sounds like you are going outside the text to refute the text; a not so innocently intended speculation in this case. We are not allowed to shape the Cornerstone; He is a Stone not hewn by human hands.
@Team Jesus Unity There are two possible interpretations. One is simply that people shared beds to not freeze to death at night before modern furnaces; so nothing to do with eroticism at all. The other possibility is the old-man and new-man, but the old-man is taken and destroyed and we are made new. What is not possible is that God is casually referencing a sin which is rightly punished with death according to Christ's own righteous Torah which He gave to Moses. Please wait until you trust and obey Christ before you tell people you are Christian. We know you by your fruit. You are a liar, twisting Scripture to your own destruction. You reject Christ and His righteousness because you love the world and those which are in the world, the craving of the flesh which you now justify; but whosoever loves the world, the love of the Father is NOT in you. Homosexuality comes out from of the world, not from of the Father. Read 1st John... You reject Christ so you may have the world. Amen Christ says to us that you have your reward, and to you He says "depart from me, yall who are Torahless, I never knew you."
@Team Jesus Unity And I have an open exchange of ideas where Christ gives me His ideas for me to keep and I give Christ my ideas for Him to destroy. I have no interest in your ideas, nor my own, but only in Christ's ideas. "Exchange of ideas" that may be your problem. I trust Christ to tell me what ideas to receive, I am a Christian (slave to Christ).
@Team Jesus Unity I'm so GLAD you brought that passage up, Team Jesus Unity! Because if you look at the original Greek for Luke 17:34, it doesn't say "two men" shall be in one bed; it says TWO shall be in one bed. There is no word for "man" in that passage; the word "men" is actually added by the KJV translators. The actual translation should say "two shall be in one bed." So that changes things a bit. Plus, I would add that, prior to our oversexualized spin on life and culture, it was not an unheard of thing for two people to need to share a bed without engaging in sexual activity. That may be a foreign concept to people who cannot segregate sexual behavior and lust from all of life like mature adults used to be able to do, but it wasn't for people in earlier generations. But thank you very much for allowing us to clear up that misunderstanding!
@@alesiamcwilliams8878 most likely in the fall on Sukkot or some think in the spring during Passover (I personally think Sukkot). He may have been “conceived” on Hanukkah in December however. It has to do with the dates that Zachariah would have been in the temple in his rotation when John the Baptist was conceived and then calculating Mary’s pregnancy by Elizabeth’s.
These are great. I wasn’t raised with religion but picked up several Catholic beliefs in pop culture. After I was born again and started reading the Bible, I was shocked to realize long time Christians were so unbiblical. Another common one: Guardian angels not assigned to watch over individual people their whole life. Also cherubim don’t look like babies! Cherubim sound pretty freaky looking actually ,with eye-covered wheels. 👀
I could add a sixth common rumour. Adam and Eve ate an apple from an apple tree and that was their sin for which God condemned mankind to guaranteed eventual death. That's one I believed until a pastor's wife, way back when I was converted in the 1970's, told me there was no apple involved. It was a tree called the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Talk about an eye opening moment.
The word "apple" in Old English (16th century and before) was a generic term that could designate any fruit, and was not limited to the red or yellow apples we eat today. Over the centuries, the denotation changed, becoming progressively more specific. Words change meaning over time, and this is one.
William Branham taught that the first sin was Eve having intercourse with Satan and giving birth to Cain. It's the Serpent's Seed Doctrine. Some of the New Apostolic Reformation churches still believe that. I'd rather be wrong calling the fruit an apple.
The naivety of spiritual insight here is alarming. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is not any natural fruit tree - I don't care what the apple has represented over the years. The tree of good and evil is the 'way of Satan' or the modus operandi of Satan, the adversary of God. Once Adam and Eve's eyes were open to that, once they got it into their system there was no going back. They couldn't unlearn it. It was the test we had to pass. For the record, the 'tree of life' is Jesus Christ or the way of God. The tree that Jesus was crucified on was, spiritually speaking, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and in so doing He rendered it powerless for everyone who believes in Him.
I like these kind of videos! I think there are so many details and tid bits like these that are widely accepted, but that are not actually in the Bible
@Kyle Isaacson first off, you're talking about the flood and "drowning babies" the main question I would ask was didn't God know about the babies, of course he did, the Babies are obviously making it to heaven the earth was evil, if God wiped them off the earth... wouldn't they just go to heaven "Mass genocide", y'all acting like the people on earth were innocent people, they literally killed each other and all, he gave them so much time to repent, like hell he gave them 100 - 400 years to repent, they didn't want to listen God doesn't force people into slavery, not even once, they were the ones that sold them off to pay debt and were allowed to be set free at the last 7 years or so, if they loved their master so much they decided to stay, how is that forcing slavery? My point still stands what makes you think you as a mortal and not all knowing person have a say what an all powerful being does on his earth? God created every HUMAN BEING, he can take their lives how he sees fit. HIS WORLD HIS CHOICE
@Kyle Isaacson okay first off answer the question, does God not have the right to take the person he gave life off the earth, does God not have the power? the babies don't know anything and are not at the age of accountability so therefore it can't understand or have the knowledge to know let me answer the slavery questions for you Exodus 21:7, "If a man sells his daughter as a female slave, she is not to go free as the male slaves do."
When a daughter was placed into slavery by her father, it was often to pay a debt combined with a way for her to find a husband. Of course, in modern times, this sounds odd. But the fact is in the Old Testament context, marriage was a very important institution. Daughters were expected to marry early and produce children. If they did not marry, they were sometimes considered cursed, and this was shameful for the family and the father's reputation. Love was sometimes a deciding factor in marriage. But, most often, marriages were arranged. Such is the case with a female slave. This is why the text says they are not to go free as a male slave does because she has more rights than a male in this case. Consider the rest of the text. Exodus 21:7-11, "If a man sells his daughter as a female slave, she is not to go free as the male slaves do. 8 “If she is displeasing in the eyes of her master who designated her for himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He does not have authority to sell her to a foreign people because of his unfairness to her. 9 “If he designates her for his son, he shall deal with her according to the custom of daughters. 10 “If he takes to himself another woman, he may not reduce her food, her clothing, or her conjugal rights. 11 “If he will not do these three things for her, then she shall go out for nothing, without payment of money." We see from the following verses that she could be redeemed (v. 8), could not be sold to foreign people (v. 8) and could marry the master's son (v. 9). But if she did not marry the son, her food and clothing could not then be reduced (v. 10). And, if these conditions were not met, she was to go free. No such requirements were made of a male slave. "Provision for a woman in one’s charge throughout the ancient Near East consisted of food, clothing and oil. The third in the series here (NIV: “marital rights”) is an attempt to translate a word that occurs only here in the Old Testament. The frequent occurrence of “oil” in that position in numerous ancient Near Eastern documents has led some to suspect that the word in the Hebrew text might also be an obscure term for oil (compare Hos 2:7; Eccles 9:7-9)." (Matthews, Victor Harold, Mark W. Chavalas, and John H. Walton. The IVP Bible Background Commentary: Old Testament. Electronic ed. Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press, 2000. The reason a female slave was treated differently than a male slave in the context of Exodus 21:7, is due to the issue of marriage. Women were to be married early and produce children as was the Jewish custom based on God telling Adam and Eve to multiply and fill the earth (Genesis 1:22). Women who are not married were often considered cursed and could bring shame on the family. In addition, daughters who were placed into slavery were sometimes expected to marry a member of that household in which she served. This was yet another way for a father to find a husband for his daughter in the Ancient Near East culture. In the context, the female 'slave' could be redeemed (v. 8), could not be sold to foreign people (v. 8) and could marry the master's son (v. 9). But if she did not marry the son, her food and clothing could not then be reduced (v. 10). And, if these conditions were not met, she was to go free. No such requirements were made of a male slave.
Luke 2:7 -- "room" is _topos,_ which just means "location," or "lodging place." The interesting part is that "inn" is not what we think of as a secure dwelling, like a "hotel," but probably refers to the caravanserai at Bethlehem, which is mentioned by Jeremiah (41:17). A caravanserai was an open area for travellers that included a roof and walls with a dirt floor. The animals would be situated around the caravanserai, while the people would sleep under the roof. But because there was no room under the roof, Mary and Joseph lodged outside the caravanserai, among the animals, perhaps in the nearby limestone cave attached to the caravanserai (that has been noted, historically). In any case, we know that He was not born in a nice place, but really did come in humility.

I have heard many sermons about Paul being struck off his horse by a blinding light on the way to Damascus. However, the Scriptures never say he was on a horse. “As I made my journey and drew near to Damascus, about noon a great light from heaven suddenly shone about me. And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?’” (Acts 22:6-7)
You're right, the text does not say that Saul was on a horse. However, the Lord tells Saul that it is hard to kick against the goads. I think the Lord was using the fact that Saul was on a horse to make that connection. I can't prove that, but it makes sense.
@Billy Rader oh, I understand the metaphor as the Lord had been working in Saul's life. Absolutely. And you know what? You're right, the goads were commonly used for oxen. And you know what else I learned? That this is a textual variant. The phrase is not in most MSS. So, maybe it's a moot point. Thanks for pointing that out. I had been taught by a pastor that the goads referred to spur-like devices used by horse riders. I still haven't learned my lesson that most pastors have no idea what they're talking about. lol. I can't trust anything anyone says. I have to take the time to study the Greek and the MSS myself. Always.
I have thoroughly LOVED your book Another Gospel. This was very helpful to me in my sermons on What Christian Parents Are Up Against - preparing children to resist Progressive Christianity. So proud of you Alisa. Thanks for the book. You are so loved here in Nashville, TN
Good stuff. I loved watching the movie Ten Commandments growing up. It wasn’t until I was older and read the Bible that I realized the inaccuracies in the movie.
The verse in Ezekiel names a musical instrument, “timbrels,” a musical term used throughout the Old Testament. Immediately following the word, is another word that is quite possibly another musical term. I would be careful to rule out that he wasn't involved in worship music in some way as we don't know what the translated word 'pipes' actually means b/c 'neqeb' in Hebrew only appears in this place in the bible, it may or may not mean a wind instrument, it could be a jewel setting. Whether he was the worship leader, we don't know. Was he a musician? We don't know. I understand what you're saying. Either way, he was the "anointed guardian cherub" which sounds like a leader in some way. Overall, the issue of him being a Musician or Worship Leader doesn't really matter but I wouldn't rule it out, look at how demonic music is, and how many musicians have claimed to make a deal with the devil or sell their soul for fame and fortune. I suggest checking out Good Fight Ministries Documentary called "They Sold Their Souls For Rock and Roll" if you haven't seen it. I don't agree with everything Pastor Joel teaches but the documentary is eye-opening.
But to say all musicians are by default ( satanically anointed just by being musicians ) is untenable theologically. I know the Church of Christ ( the denomination ) forbids the use of mechanical instruments in worship. Also, to say all rock/heavy metal music is satanic is also ridiculous ( see Pastor Bob Beeman ). And if you think classical music somehow gets a :" holy pass " boy oh boy do I have some videos to show you....
Ezekiel 28 is addressed to a pagan ruler. Some think there is an indirect reference to Satan but that is not explicit in the text. Even if it refers to Satan, it does not mean he necessarily was a musician (since the meaning of those terms as musical is disputed) and it especially gives no evidence he was a worship leader as so many claim.
Yes! Some of these I recall reading on as a child and asking where people got from the text these commonly shared rumors. Glad you addressed them because I found myself correcting people which is quite awkward when you are younger and they are older lol. 😅
It was not up to Noah; their own deeds sentenced them to death. Still he preached to them for 120 years then. None were converted. Just like when Lot pleaded with the Lord about the least amount of righteous people that had to be in Sodom and Gomorra, to prevent Him from destroying the cities. Again, none were found. When Jonah preached to Nineveh, that their city would be destroyed if they did not repent, and they listened to him, God preserved them and their city.
I am so glad RUclips put this on my homepage! As a woman who loves the scared text and has been bothered by a few things you talk about, bothered by a lot of “rumors” in Western Christianity, I admire how lovingly you present this truth. Thank you for using your voice and your brain to help people come to a more whole Biblical understanding.
I gave my life to the Lord of Jesus Christ as my personal savior on February 16, 1996. All my life (I’m currently 52) I believed angels had wings. Maybe 6 months ago a pastor said that nowhere in the Bible does it say angels had/have wings. That’s the cherubim and seraphim. Angels are messengers and warriors. So silly how we can buy “angel” statues (beautiful and dainty women with wings) in our Christian bookstores. We’re so deceived.
SP,.....You are still deceived. An angel is a messenger, a human. A human that brings you the truth of God and his word, like I have just done for you. The only other angels are all God/Jesus. Lucifer, Michael, Gabriel are all God/Jesus. Those that bring the message of God. God uses humans to bring his message to the world, not anyone/anything else. Do not listen to anyone from the church, they have no idea what they are talking about. The church is not of God, it is of the world. Anyone listening to anything the church teaches is the blind following the blind.
One of the MOST RUMORED thing said about the Bible is you can't judge unless you're God We have heard it countless times from both Christian and non-Christian .... "who are you to judge anyone else" and you're not God so you can't judge me" and the list of other ways that's said, goes on and on We do in fact have the right and duty by God to make DISCERNING judgments which includes exposing false prophets, teachers, healers, etc in order to help prevent the millions of millions people who are being lead further and further away from the true and complete Gospel of Jesus Christ. The following scriptures are just a few that confirms this: John 7:24 24 Stop judging by outward appearances, and start judging justly 1 Corinthians 5:11-13 11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people. 12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you." Titus 1:9-13 9 He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. 10 For there are many rebellious people, full of meaningless talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision group. 11 They must be silenced, because they are disrupting whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach-and that for the sake of dishonest gain. 12 One of Crete’s own prophets has said it: “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.” 13 This saying is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith 2 John 9-11 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. Timothy 5:20 20 As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear. Romans 16:17-18 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. Acts 20:28-30 28 Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. 29 I know that after I leave, wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. 30 Even from your own number, men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. 2 Timothy 4:2-4 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables
Good point concerning Moses. And taken into context of the passage (which are in Exodus 3 and 4,) wouldn't someone find it odd that something such as stuttering would be mentioned so late in the conversation?
Isaiah 14 is very similar to Ezekiel 28 in that it is talking about a ruler but also about Satan. Look at verse 11 where it mentions "Your pomps and the music of your harps have been brought down to sheol". Is it only talking about the King of Babylon or is Satan alluded to in that verse?
Yes and the fact that music industry clearly belongs to the devil and it is extremely proffessional, also indicates that devil has something to do with music.
Could be, but we must be honest ans say we read into it that it is Satan, doesn't clearly say. We will need to go beyond what is actually written to accept that thought
...in the same way Jesus rebuked satan for speaking through Peter, The Lord rebuked satan through the king of Tyrus in Ezekiel. It's the Holy Spirit that compels men to do righteously and it's satan's spirit that tempts men to wickedness. Of course we are the ones who make the final decision and therefore "the devil made me do it" will never stand before the judgment bar in the courts of heaven...
@@jimmccarthy80 I believe "the devil made you do it" will be the words Jesus himself will say to many on the Judgement Day. Remember what it is said in the revelation what will happen to this world when the devil will be imprisoned for a 1000 years? Peace. Peace will come to this world, because devil will no longer seduce people into wrong behavior and remeber what will happen when the devil will be released once again? He will gather countless of souls to go against God again. So i believe devil will be greatly responsible for many many sins of people on the Judgement Day. This does not mean that people who fall into seductions of satan will not face the consequences, they will, by ending into hell, but after hell, on the Judgement Day Satan will get many blames upon himself.
Alisa, what was Paul’s thorn in the flesh... that by what Jesus answered to him revealed or caused him weaknesses yet His strength / power were showcased by His grace in his life and ministry, thank you 🌿
Probably ophthalmia, an eye disease that was somewhat common in that day. See Galatians 4:13-15, 6:11; Acts 23:1-5. In the Acts account, it would have been clear to someone with normal sight to have known which man was the high priest because of the way he would have been dressed.
@@teddycampbellband2648 The problem with that theory is that Timothy, Titus, Apollos, and many others also had to deal with the false apostles. All Christians are burdened by false teachers to one degree or another. So, I'm not sure that that would qualify as a thorn in the flesh sent by God specifically for Paul.
I think the phrase 'thorn in the flesh' gives its own meaning through the word used - flesh. It's not something external, but in Paul's flesh that is either a physical or mental handicap that would serve to remind Paul of his weakness as a man so that his reliance would be increased upon God.
About David, I've heard people claim that David was red-haired, because he is described as "ruddy". This simply means that he had a bright, youthful complexion.
You have to give information for why you believe that ruddy doesn’t mean “red” or why you believe it has something to do with youthful. Just making a statement doesn’t help. Here, I’ll show you. People think that David had red hair, but “ruddy” can after mean “toothless”. See how easy that was?
I agree. The phrase is actually "ruddy of complexion" which has nothing to do with his hair color. Although being a red head it was fun to identify with the boy giant killer ;-)
Rock and Sand Apologetics well, you ain’t out of the fight yet. The Hebrew root word translated as “ruddy” is used Exodus 25 of dying rams skins “red”. But Gen 25:25 makes the best case for “ruddy” being of red hair (and associated complexion) when it says that Esau was “red” and hairy. Yep, same Hebrew word there! When trying to determine what a word means, you really want to return to the original language to see if it provides clarity. Think about it this way, we are currently looking at an English word that is no longer used while trying to determine not only what it meant in the 1600’s, but also drawing a conclusion from that of what it meant in Hebrew! How accurate do you think we will be without going to the actual Hebrew text?
@@TheRazmotaz I really don't "have to". I was just making a comment, not positing an argument. I would back it up with some Hebrew interpretations, but I saw no reason to do that, since this is not a strictly apologetics episode, but more light-hearted.
@@TheRazmotaz Let's have some fun. Someone once said, "Keep your eye on the ball, your hand on the plow, and your shoulder to the wheel. There, now try to work in that position." I am, in like vain, going to give you a passage of Scripture. It describes someone. After reading it please write back and tell me what this person looked like. Here goes, Lamentations 4:7-8, "Her princes were purer than snow, whiter than milk; their bodies were more ruddy than rubies, their appearance like sapphire. Their form is blacker than coal; they are not recognized in the streets; their skin cleaves to their bones, it has become as dry as wood." Specifically I want to know if "her princes" were whiter or red (ruddy) or sapphire (blue) or black.
Also the the forbidden fruit is never described as an apple but simply a piece of fruit. Also the serpent in the garden of eden is never directly stated as a snake but a serpent. Some people theorize it could actually be a drake or wyvern thus making the curse to crawl on its belly more applicable.
You stated that no where does the Bible tell us who the woman is that anointed Jesus with the perfume and dried his feet with her hair. It actually does tell us exactly who she is in John 11:1-2. She is the sister of Lazarus or Mary of Bethany.
That's under the assumption it was the same occasion. I don't think it was. Yes, in both occasions you had a woman using perfume on Jesus and even wiping it with her hair, but that's where the similarities end. Perhaps the two occasions are linked in the sense that maybe one inspired the other, or God arranged for them to happen twice to prove a point; but I don't think they were the same occasion. The John passage (and the Matthew and Mark passages, which were I think of the same occasion as in John) does not at all imply Mary of Bethany was a prostitute.
IamGrimalkin I never said she was a prostitute and John speaks of two different occasions. The first is referring to a past event with Mary and tell us who she is and then another anointing before his crucifixion. We should see a difference in three different accounts of the same scene as you would now with police questioning witnesses. Different perspective not a different event. To assume they are different because the are accounted differently is not a good bet. If you read on any of the eye witness accounts throughout the new and Old Testament they are all slightly different as they should be or anyone would assume they collaborated their stories ask any police investigator. If they are to similar something isn’t right.
@@jt08250 They are different in almost every aspect, apart from the details you mentioned initially. The accounts in Matthew, Mark and John do have small differences between them, that you can indeed just see as different perspectives. The account in Luke 7 is completely different: it's a different event. As mentioned, the event with Mary was just before Jesus's crucifixion, and specifically happened because Mary what prophetically anointing Jesus for his death. The Luke 7 event was not: it was earlier in his ministry, probably in or near Capernaum. It's reasonable to think the woman described in Luke 7 might have been a prostitute or something similar, given the Pharisee's reaction . When Mary poured perfume on Jesus, it's unlikely any Pharisees were even present: the party was held at a leper's house (not the Pharisee's house).
IamGrimalkin you are not reading what I am saying John 11:1-2 1 ¶ Now a man was sick, Lazarus from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. 2 Mary was the one who anointed the Lord with perfume and wiped his feet with her hair, and it was her brother Lazarus who was sick This is telling us who Mary is by telling us a past event. It’s not until John 12 where she anoints him again before his crucifixion. Why would John in chapter 11 tell us about an event so we knew what Mary he was speaking that hadn’t happened yet.
While I am not convinced most of these misconceptions are of extreme significance, they serve a reminder or wake up call to read the Bible carefully. There are doctrines that easily could be misunderstood or twisted if you only do a surface reading. Thanks for these insights.
There are a lot more doctrines taught in many evangelical churches which also are nowhere found in the bible...like the secret rapture of the church as shown in the „left behind movies“, like the idea that there are 2 peoples of God, christians and jews, like the idea idea that there are 2 „second-comings“ of Christ and that the church is coming together with Jesus at his second „second coming“...and so many more....!
Thank you for mentioning that great myth! I believe it is doing great harm to the gospel. It takes away the urgency to preach the gospel and the finality of mans eternal state when Christ comes in His Judgement. Giving man a hope of salvation after Christ has come to "rapture" his church. Its borderline blasphemous. When I have this conversation with those that hold to that view dont appreciate it when I tell them that in their view Christ has a bride....and a mistress lol
Let's not forget all these pagan holidays such as Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving etc. Most High Yahuah never not once appointed or claimed those days as His. The Roman Catholics did. The appointed feast days are all there in the bible🤷🏾♀️.
The Roman Church started it all. Even the Atonement is borrowed from paganism. Sadly, the Protestants kept a lot of the RC nonsense and passed it down to the cult called Charismatic. Oh well.

People say that God or Jesus changed Paul ‘s name from Saul; like when Simon was called Peter. However it is my understanding that Paul could go by either name depending upon his audience.
A common rumour I heard often and even said myself when I was younger, That the Bible says “ God will never give you more than you can handle”it does say, There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 2.another one that we (everyone on earth) are all children of God. We are children of wrath Ephesians 2:3-5 3. That the wise men were present the day Jesus was born like the shepherds.
Thanks for the video, much appreciated however I can see you are also making assumptions that are not in the text: The text does not mention a birth at any relatives at all regarding Jesus, also the text states that Moses said:"I am slow of speech and tongue." as you said however the interpretation that he was just expressing insecurities and he did not mean it literally is not in the text, keeping in mind that Stephen that you mentioned actually never met Moses in person to make comments on his speech, the only way for Stephen to be familiar with Moses Words was through reading what he wrote - "...Mighty in words and deeds." means just that, not mighty in "speech", the text does not state mighty in speech. Thanks again.
The rumor that when Paul, in Galatians, when he says "I would even that they which trouble you would be cut off" it's obvious "they which trouble you" are the "judaizers" and "cut-off" refers to the Judaizers being cast-out of the fellowship; Paul is using the context of his epistle, circumcision, to refer to cutting off the troublesome people as foreskin/sins are cut off in physical/spiritual circumcision. I won't say what the rumor is, but if you know it, I hope you will accept this correction as to what Paul was actually getting at. Some "translations" literally interpret the passage wrongfully and put that interpretation in as if the Bible says that. The KJV matches the Greek perfectly there "I would even that they which trouble you would be cut off".
1. Its been said Adam and Eve ate an apple. 2. The story is told that Jonah was in the belly of a whale. 3. Most people teach that Peter cut off the ear of one of the soldiers in the garden.
The one that always bothered me and still does is that King David is always pictured or drawn as a small child when he fought Goliath, and nowhere in the Bible does it say that he was small, in fact since Saul offered his armor then we can only assume that he did so because he was the same size as he was, it’s just that David didn’t feel uncomfortable in it. I hate reading the story to my kids because I don’t want them to learn the wrong thing.
Hey sister I would want to know about your theological position whether your a calvinist, provisionist or arminian? Continuationist or cessationist? Pre-, post, or amillennial? Grace to you and thanks for this great video.
Moses was selected because he was someone that someone would not think to be used by God. God uses the least among us. Yeah Stephen said that about Moses, because he was referencing the Moses that was already in God's presence for over 40 years.
This. Paul was just his other name. His name didn't actually change due to conversion but probably not to be confused with King Saul that fell from grace (and they were both from the tribe of Benjamin as well).
Mandy G his name wasn’t changed. Paul is the Greek for Saul in Hebrew. A common misconception is to tell the story of his conversion with Jesus changing his name which didn’t actually happen
I’ve been hearing a lot about people taking certain parts of scripture such as the description of king David and then Jesus in revelation and claiming they were black. I don’t see any of that in the Bible.
Thanks for that. I had actually never heard the rumour about satan being a worship leader. I am wondering if you could address the common misunderstanding about angels as being sweet creatures with wings as opposed to terrifying beings which usually brought on fear. Thanks.
...a very common misconception in the modern church is that 'worship' by definition involves music/ singing etc. In fact Romans 12 :1 makes it clear that 'true spiritual worship' is the presentation of your bodies to God as a living sacrifice' - nothing therefore inherently do do with music/ singing etc.
Growing up it seemed that Samson was thought of as this innocent man that was captured and called on the Lord for strength and was freed... Not the case at all biblically lol

As far as the Mary Magdeline rumor goes, the reason people likely began equating her with the prostitute from the verses you mentioned is because in John 12 a similar event happens on the night of Jesus’s betrayal, where Mary(Sister of Martha and Lazurus, not Magdeline, and not the mother of Jesus) breaks the jar of perfume and annoints his feet. To be clear, it’s not the same story that you mentioned, and it’s not even the same woman, and it’s not even Mary Magdeline, but that’s where old time Bible interpreters probably went wrong on that one. Great video though! It’s always good to see people dealing with misunderstandings that people have about scripture.
Lucille yes that is correct according to Luke 8:1-3. Being confused with the identity of the different Mary’s is quite understandable. There are quite a few. They are: 1.) Mary the mother of Jesus 2.) Mary Magdeline 3.) Mary of Bethany(the sister of Martha and Lazurus, who I mentioned in my initial comment) 4.) Mary the wife of Clopas(who is only mentioned in John 19:25, and it’s possible she was the mother of one of the apostles or the wife of one of the disciples on the road to Emmeaus, but we’re not sure about that) 5.) Mary the mother of John Mark(of whom wrote the gospel of Mark. She is mentioned in Acts 12:12) 6?) In the event that Mary, the wife of Clopas was not the same Mary that was the mother of James and Joses mentioned in several places, then she is another Mary in the gospel record. In addition to those, in the letter to the Romans Paul also asks the readers to greet Mary for him in 16:6. We don’t know anything about this person, and it’s even possible that this Mary is one of the Mary’s mentioned above already. Suffice to say, Mary was a very common name at the time of Christ.

The church is 100% apostate and there is no Biblical truth to be found there, only perversions of scripture and deception.
True, the Bible only refers to wise men. In reality the wise men had an entourage of servants and guards. The three gifts they brought might be a fairly good indicator of the number of wise men. One assume each of the wise men would offer a gift.
@saladdogger that's funny you state archaeology since there is the archaeological site in Israel for Jesus' birth. I have to check, but I think it's the Church of the Nativity. And if I'm not getting mixed up with the site of Jesus' tomb, the Nativity was in a cave. But I'll let you discover this on your own and make corrections.
@saladdogger I am Catholic. I'm a Catholic convert. And I trust the Catholic Church because of apostolic succession and because of church history which is Christian history. So I am biased that I believe these sites are true because the Catholic church has no reason to try to lie. It wants people to have the fullest relationship with Jesus Christ and to become everything that God created them to be. These sites are a testament to the Life of Christ and how we can actually touch and walk where Jesus was. That should Inspire us and encourage us. But if you think that God's left Christianity and didn't come back until after the Reformation, then none of this will bring true to you.
@saladdogger interesting. You are your own authority on what is correct and what is not. I guess that makes you your own Pope and magisterium. I can't argue with you since I I don't have your Authority.
@saladdogger that's so weird. it's still your interpretation of the Bible. And you implicitly stated that you're the authority on this. When somebody has an interpretation that's different from you, what do you do then? Are you the first person in 2,000 years to know exactly how the Bible supposed to be interpreted and everybody else was wrong or at least had inaccuracies?
@saladdogger you said you can't see apostolic succession in Scripture? How many times have you actually read the Bible? Or do you just not read the Bible because Thomas Payne doesn't believe it? Either you're very young and haven't read that much, or you read something that immediately validated your worldview and you ascribe to that philosophy. Either way you're dealing with a very small deck of cards and lack wisdom to actually communicate in a thoughtful discussion. There's too many holes in your argument to go into. And I'm taking away time for my family to talk to you. That's insanity
A rumor I see in films, is that Moses left his wife back in Midian when he went to enact the Exodus. Exodus-4:19, 20 I have yet to see a film that got this right. Another goof from films, about Jesus' passion, is that they miss what happened in John's Gospel. In John-18, Jesus confronts the band of men, asking them "Whom seek ye?". They tell Him, "Jesus of Nazareth", Jesus then says "I am he." ; but at His reply, the men went backward and fell to the ground. I have yet to see a film which got this one right either.
People also slander and claim that Paul was homosexual because he wanted to remain unmarried. It disgusts me because people talk about people today who prefer to be single and prefer to better themselves with Jesus only are told that they do not want to marry, are gay, or that they do not want to be in a relationship.
@@seeqr9 oh most definitely. People have said things about me and their words mean nothing when they are lies and we are told that this would happen when we do things in Jesus' name.
Servant Status Ministries yes of course. But I mean specifically if Paul did indeed struggle with such desires it wouldn’t diminish who he was. In fact I’d say it would speak to his faith even more as well as Gods faithfulness that he would and could put to death such a difficult, fleshly burden daily.

And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
I thought that was why the Satan is said to have once been a “worship leader.”
Either way, thank you for this video and information!
I think most of these rumors got started because Jesus spoke in a slightly different English dialect than the King James authors 😉

@Team Jesus Unity two men in one bed... one man, one Wo man.... woman has man in it....

Well...... if its summer on this side of the globe, then its winter on that side.

Lol at the eye opening moment. 😄😁 "...and their eyes were opened"

@Kyle Isaacson what? yes God had just wrath on the earth, don't you think he would have thought of the babies
@Kyle Isaacson he's God are you trying to tell him how to run the universe he created? and don't you think he would have known about the babies?
@Kyle Isaacson first off, you're talking about the flood and "drowning babies" the main question I would ask was didn't God know about the babies, of course he did, the Babies are obviously making it to heaven the earth was evil, if God wiped them off the earth... wouldn't they just go to heaven
"Mass genocide", y'all acting like the people on earth were innocent people, they literally killed each other and all, he gave them so much time to repent, like hell he gave them 100 - 400 years to repent, they didn't want to listen
God doesn't force people into slavery, not even once, they were the ones that sold them off to pay debt and were allowed to be set free at the last 7 years or so, if they loved their master so much they decided to stay, how is that forcing slavery?
My point still stands what makes you think you as a mortal and not all knowing person have a say what an all powerful being does on his earth? God created every HUMAN BEING, he can take their lives how he sees fit. HIS WORLD HIS CHOICE
@Kyle Isaacson okay first off answer the question, does God not have the right to take the person he gave life off the earth, does God not have the power? the babies don't know anything and are not at the age of accountability so therefore it can't understand or have the knowledge to know
let me answer the slavery questions for you Exodus 21:7, "If a man sells his daughter as a female slave, she is not to go free as the male slaves do."
11 “If he will not do these three things for her, then she shall go out for nothing, without payment of money."
We see from the following verses that she could be redeemed (v.
The frequent occurrence of “oil” in that position in numerous ancient Near Eastern documents has led some to suspect that the word in the Hebrew text might also be an obscure term for oil (compare Hos 2:7; Eccles 9:7-9)."
(Matthews, Victor Harold, Mark W.

Great description of caravanserai in the novel Ben Hur.

Always.

All the angels are involved in worship actually
as the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?
Job 38:7
Mark I agree, I think this is a bold statement that she really can’t back up Biblically.
Yes in my Life Application Bible Ezekiel 28:13 the translation of tabrets and pipes means mountings and settings for jewels.
Noah never intended to save the people by inviting them on the ark, it was only for his family and the animals. Genesis 6:11-13
And nobody mocked Noah either, at least not in scripture

One of the MOST RUMORED thing said about the Bible is you can't judge unless you're God
We have heard it countless times from both Christian and non-Christian .... "who are you to judge anyone else" and you're not God so you can't judge me" and the list of other ways that's said, goes on and on
We do in fact have the right and duty by God to make DISCERNING judgments which includes exposing false prophets, teachers, healers, etc in order to help prevent the millions of millions people who are being lead further and further away from the true and complete Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The following scriptures are just a few that confirms this:
John 7:24
24 Stop judging by outward appearances, and start judging justly
1 Corinthians 5:11-13
11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.
12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?
13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you."
Titus 1:9-13
9 He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.
10 For there are many rebellious people, full of meaningless talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision group.
11 They must be silenced, because they are disrupting whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach-and that for the sake of dishonest gain.
12 One of Crete’s own prophets has said it: “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.”
13 This saying is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith
2 John 9-11
9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
Timothy 5:20
20 As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear.
Romans 16:17-18
17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
Acts 20:28-30
28 Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.
29 I know that after I leave, wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.
30 Even from your own number, men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.
2 Timothy 4:2-4
2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;

God is good.
How is Satan alluded to?
...in the same way Jesus rebuked satan for speaking through Peter, The Lord rebuked satan through the king of Tyrus in Ezekiel. It's the Holy Spirit that compels men to do righteously and it's satan's spirit that tempts men to wickedness. Of course we are the ones who make the final decision and therefore "the devil made me do it" will never stand before the judgment bar in the courts of heaven...
@@jimmccarthy80
I believe "the devil made you do it" will be the words Jesus himself will say to many on the Judgement Day.
This is an awesome video. Make more of these! Short, educational and entertaining. 🥰👍🏽
Alisa, what was Paul’s thorn in the flesh... that by what Jesus answered to him revealed or caused him weaknesses yet His strength / power were showcased by His grace in his life and ministry, thank you 🌿
The Bible seems to suggest False Apostles being his thorn. frankviola.org/2012/04/24/paulsthornintheflesh/
Can you post a video explaining the specifics of what caused your faith crisis and how you resolved those issues ?
No that is incorrect. Two different occasions two different women.
@@jt08250
They are different in almost every aspect, apart from the details you mentioned initially.
2 Mary was the one who anointed the Lord with perfume and wiped his feet with her hair, and it was her brother Lazarus who was sick
This is telling us who Mary is by telling us a past event.
This is great stuff. Thanks
Oh well.
Christ- savior and mas- death. So people say, Merry Christ Death. Hummm, sounds familiar.
“And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.”
There's a common belief that Jesus was born on Christmas.
Well, it is possible. Just not dogmatic.

@@seanrathmakedisciples1508 YESHUA was born in the spring during the lambing season. HE was the Lamb of GOD. Bethlehem is where the sacrificial lambs were born. Bethlehem means basket of bread, so the Bread of Life was born there, probably Nisan 1. He could NOT be born on Sukkot because that is one of 3 pilgrimage feasts when Jews were required to be in Jerusalem. A census would NOT have occurred during Sukkot.
When YESHUA came the first time HE fulfilled the spring FEASTS OF THE LORD. When he returns, HE will fulfill the Fall FEASTS OF THE LORD.
@@seanrathmakedisciples1508 OK. But it's still not dogmatic.
I have heard worship leaders and pastors say these falsehoods from the pulpit. One of the worst was during a chapel service at my daughter’s school. The pastor was teaching in Genesis and told the students that men have one fewer ribs than women. I 🤦♀️ right there in the pew.
People say that God or Jesus changed Paul ‘s name from Saul; like when Simon was called Peter. However it is my understanding that Paul could go by either name depending upon his audience.
His name was changed. So was Peter's.
A common rumour I heard often and even said myself when I was younger, That the Bible says “ God will never give you more than you can handle”it does say,
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
2.another one that we (everyone on earth) are all children of God.
We are children of wrath Ephesians 2:3-5
3. That the wise men were present the day Jesus was born like the shepherds.
No mention of an innkeeper.
Great vid Alisa!
Sauls name changing to Paul on the road to Demascus
Yeshua was born in a "sukkah" during the Feast of Tabernacles.
Great quality. Thank you!
Nice! Attack bumper sticker theology next. Things like "God will never give you more than you can bear" , "words have power", the "power of positive thinking", faith can literally move mountains, "don't judge" etc...
If this page has already covered these topics can I get a link?
It doesn't say he was born down under a relative house

Was not Mary Magdeline the one that had seven demons and Jesus drove them out? Little confused here.
Lucille yes that is correct according to Luke 8:1-3. Being confused with the identity of the different Mary’s is quite understandable. There are quite a few. They are:
1.) Mary the mother of Jesus
2.) Mary Magdeline
3.) Mary of Bethany(the sister of Martha and Lazurus, who I mentioned in my initial comment)
4.) Mary the wife of Clopas(who is only mentioned in John 19:25, and it’s possible she was the mother of one of the apostles or the wife of one of the disciples on the road to Emmeaus, but we’re not sure about that)
5.) Mary the mother of John Mark(of whom wrote the gospel of Mark. She is mentioned in Acts 12:12)
6?) In the event that Mary, the wife of Clopas was not the same Mary that was the mother of James and Joses mentioned in several places, then she is another Mary in the gospel record.
The worship leader Lucifer lost his position in heaven and became Satan during his fall.
That's why the music industry is so corrupt. Satan is a great singer !
CM, HB, You are both totally wrong, and have no idea what you are talking about. There is no such person as satan and Lucifer is Jesus. You both need to stop listening to church leaders that have zero understanding of the Bible and read the Bible yourselves. The church is 100% apostate and there is no Biblical truth to be found there, only perversions of scripture and deception.
@Hank Bridges ,...Please read what I wrote to CM, it applies to you as well.
@@kimthetruthofit6965 ,....You also are 100% wrong, and have been deceived.
@@tonybasoni8443 Are you getting what you're claiming from the Bible or are you just making it up?
Great teaching. Thank you.
One about the birth of Jesus...there were 3 wise men. The Bible never says how many
and people even made up names for them! while the bible doesnr give names
True, the Bible only refers to wise men. In reality the wise men had an entourage of servants and guards. The three gifts they brought might be a fairly good indicator of the number of wise men. One assume each of the wise men would offer a gift.
@Zena Blackhawk Correct because it doesn't matter
@Zena Blackhawk oh my church did teach that. depends on church I suppose
Wow, mind blown. 🤯 I believed all of this. You’re right. I’m sticking to what the Bible says. There’s a lot of misinterpretation.
She said Jesus "probably" would have been born in the lower part of the house. That probably, is assumption. She too has no bible for that
@saladdogger that's funny you state archaeology since there is the archaeological site in Israel for Jesus' birth.
Exodus-4:19, 20
I have yet to see a film that got this right.
Another rumor: David and Jonathan had a homosexual relationship.
Yes! This would be a GREAT one to address!
People also slander and claim that Paul was homosexual because he wanted to remain unmarried. It disgusts me because people talk about people today who prefer to be single and prefer to better themselves with Jesus only are told that they do not want to marry, are gay, or that they do not want to be in a relationship.
Servant Status Ministries paul having that burden wouldn’t diminish who he was one bit tho.
Thank you! Love these!
I hope you aren't presuming to teach men.
Great series :)
Moses stuttering? David dancing naked? File all of this under 'who cares'. How do any of these 'clarifications' help us grow closer to God??
...these are things atheists bring out to challenge the authority of God's Word and get us to argue...
This is so good Alisa! Thank you

Great job Sister Childers.
keep it going, be bold with Biblical truth and facts. It has been washed down for centuries now. When I thought my young kids some of the Christian celebrations merged with paganic principles. They begin to appreciate Gods blessings more, than just a symbolic man on a red suit that comes only in December.
Wow we definately should read the Bible for ourselves...all of it!
There is now data that the Sumerian Flood story where Gilgamesh was instruced by Enki to build a boat to save his family. The Sumerian Flood story has many parts in common with the Old Testaments Flood story where Noah and the Ark were prominent items. Although, in the Sumerian Flood story Gilgamesh had no children like Shem, Japeth, & Ham equivalents. It might show that yes, the influence was there from the Sumerian story but nothing is stopping the very creative minds of Hebrew writers. e.g. the Yahwists, or Elohists or Priestly authors.
Thank you for this!
Excellent! There are so many rumors and misinterpretations out there you will have plenty stuff to talk about.
May have heard this but it is said that Jonathan was not David’s best friend but was actually playing both sides. He also likely told Saul where David was twice.
Whether satan was the “worship leader” or not is irrelevant. He could’ve been the head janitor for all we know. he got selfish, wanted to be like God, and got fired. I think that is the lesson that should be learned. That’s one of the questions on my list to ask when I get to Heaven.
He was a cherubim and suppose to serve the will of God ,perform duties and be a guardian .He lost his position and is now a janitor, but at least he is the Head janitor .Lol
