Kiwis on benefits reach levels not seen since Global Financial Crisis | TVNZ Breakfast

The number of people on some form of benefit is at a record-high. Data from the Ministry of Social Development shows 12% of the working age population are receiving a main benefit. That's almost 400,000 people, almost the same proportion of the population as after the Global Financial Crisis.
