No autotune. She is just pitch perfect. She isn't just a great singer, she is an accomplished composer and arranger. She has been quite aware of the placement, purpose, tone, and tabor of every note she sings and how it makes the whole song achieve her objectives. She really is much more than a singer. Just an amazing prodigy. I enjoy your emotion and your technical analysis when you do reactions. I've seen many reactions from many different people. I rate yours the best technical analysis. I'd like to see you do more reactions to Angelina. Every one of her performances are just amazing. And she is so versatile.
Are the audience there is no other thing I guarantee you mean my wife there with the midwest America to hear her saying and there’s no autotune exactly like you just heard it
Already in 2020 in AGT you could hear her perform those runs and fry effects, and bohemian rhapsody is the proof she'll never need autotune : she starts it a capella and is straight pitch perfect (just look at the face Simon makes hearing that... he was stunned !) She's really matured but without loosing what made her so great when she was younger : her soul and charisma.
Elizabeth, thank you for your wonderful reviews! As other commenters have noted, your easy, natural expressions and non-verbal responses are often all one needs to understand the basics of your feelings about what you are hearing/seeing. Thanks! As an olde over-the-hill, web-footed, academic who has only recently discovered the miracle that is Angelina Jordan, it is so very hard for me to explain how she can crack into my crusty psyche or armored soul and cause all the appropriate heartstrings to resonate with her voice and, even more, with her emotions. However, your expressions and explanations often make it clear how I may understand at least a part of the process - and, additionally, feel good about the parts I can't really quantify, but can certainly enjoy. Total aside - being a cephalopodiatrist of sorts, I quite love the big-eyed orange critter on your desk, is it an octopod, decapod, or ... "other?"
after listening to Angelina for a year, almost daily, my conclusion is that she is a really honest singer. I don't think she will auto-tune any performance. She has many performances with just a mic, sitting on a small room and she sounds amazing.
She can sing anything and put her own spin on it. AJ is a force to be reckoned with and I'm so glad I get to see her progression in my lifetime. Once in a lifetime voice that will be talked about for generations to come! No autotune needed either. All natural, all AJ!
I also wondered if the song ended a bit too soon, but then I wondered if, perhaps, Angelina was making a statement demonstrating the seemingly abrupt ending of our loved ones lives, leaving us feeling like there should've been a bit more to their existence. ❤️
And she also left us to wonder why it ended there, and then faded to black. I'm confident that she had a very good reason, but I like that she left it to each listener to interpret.
I do believe that abrupt ending was intentional and highly effective. It always hits me hard whenever I hear it; that sudden loss of something so beautiful.
No auto tune in this song. You need to listen to many songs of Angelina, more than 125, to realize her capability to produce any sounds she wants. Sometimes her voice sounds like a musical instrument rather than a human vocal creation.
So you were in the studio when she recorded that to be so sure ? there is definitely autotune and it is not an insult, listen at 3:13, the run is a typical R&B autotune run) ! Ed sheeran use autotune in all his songs ...
I'm 81 and have been singing and loving all types of music my whole life, that has always led me to the conclusion that while vocal techniques are very important you can never get away from the most important things in music, making people feel your voice or instrument! Angelina makes you feel what she sings! Many have compared her to contemporary artists like Amy Winehouse or Adele, but I think that is because they draw their music from the same sources, like Elvis, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, and Etta James, among others! Angelina's grandma is Mery Zamani, a world famous painter with a lot of passion for her art and she has passed that passion to Angelina in her artistry of song! Where you see Angelina Mery is usually there close! Mery directs and produces much of Angelina's videos and provides much of the art work! It was Mery who was there to guide her through learning about jazz music and Elvis! Her hair reflects her love for Priscilla Presley, I suspect that also influenced Amy Winehouse! Her mom Sara Astar is always there for support and encouragement, her little sister Juliette is her constant companion and helpmate, Her uncle Michael is her Manager, they all keep her grounded and encouraged! Angelina Jordan Astar is going to do great things because she is so firmly grounded in her passion, empathy, skill, and just life in general! I look forward to many more reactions from you, one I would suggest to you next would be I'd Rather Be Blind an Etta James cover from a blue couch!
You said: "She (Angelina) can choose to have continuity and timbre". I have no professional education or experience in this matter. I 100% agree with your comment. I have been, what can be called, obsessed with the voice of this young person. You also said, "So many fantastic singers I hear in her", "Reaching back to roots and imitating what she heard before." "Here... she is super aware and intentional". May I suggest that just as there are individuals who have "photographic" memories, in some way Angelina has a (permanent/fixed) memory of emotions as represented by tones. A frequent comment of Angelina is that she sounds like, but not the same as (insert the name of the song/singer). One of the first comments I made about Angelina a long time ago is that Angelina combines the tones/timber of the artist that projects the emotion she determines is appropriate for her performance. Many times, the result is a combination of several singers. In other words, the emotion she feels results in a sound. This reasoning assumes, as stated above, she has a repertoire of memories of emotion tones by individual. Is it possible? Sometimes the easiest answer is the correct answer. Thanks for the great reviews and great music performances. Of course, this whole spiel could be the bupkis of an aging man.
A person who can write the line "it's like you're in my tears" is a topnotch songwriter. You almost don't have to listen to anything else - but of course you don't want to miss everything else!
The auto tune that I hear in this video is not there on the official music video: ruclips.net/video/XA1_CUaM52I/видео.html The version on Spotify also does not have it. I’m so glad. She doesn’t need it!
@@Sahadev108 There is no auto tune in any of her versions of this song. Or others, for that matter (except her EDM-song Above the water, where they did it just for effect). She never needs it.
@@genevapriest6190 Yes, Geneva. And every time anyone questions her ability, keeps me on my toes. Why would she use any auto tune now, when she always has been the definition of not using it. If Elizabeth has heard the AGT Champions performances, she should know Angelina can sing those runs in her sleep.
@@sarlina1 I'm not sure the 'effect' on AtW is not just Angelina. My specan agrees (no phase change). Do you have any inside info that confirms post effects there?
Angelina is simply the best singer ever of our era ... with talent like Amy of course, Whitney Houston, Adele and Celine ... You can place her right there and no one would argue about it.
Angelina is a very special and unique person. I never get tired of her voice and how she puts so much into her songs. Oh yeah, I love your hair as well....lol. It works for you.
I confess I've not been a fan of many of her covers - few singers do Bohemian Rhapsody justice, to me - but I feel we're actually getting HER in this. I also hear Adele and Amy. The Feels are all over me! 😭 💜 🐙
I will tell and she’s never used it I’ve been watching her since she was very young through this present day she’s never used autotune she can match the sound a little thing live shows never use auto tune
I've listened to a lot of her lately, all covers , etta james James brown. Ect. But I felt ,only because of her age and even though she did amazingly great on all I just felt when she's old enough for the real experience of life, you know I'm sure what I'm talking about. Love being hurt by it life just kicking ya to your knees. I am by no means saying this beautiful young girl doesn't have the talent yo channel those feelings of the original singers what I am saying is this being the first original written you can actually feel the experience of the loss in her voice, I absolutely enjoyed as well as felt . I don't want the bad to happen, but it will. That's life, please music industry leave this treasure to her own. And AJ thank you for this original heart felt song, it proves your ability to hold an audience on your every word. And please remember AJ life will kick ya, unfortunately that's the real of it. It's how you get up that maters. I kinda went off on a rambling yada, yada. When all I should have said was, lovely song, felt your feelings in it,and thank you.
Lyrics Million Miles by Angelina Jordan When I was child I walked the streets They see me growing up Knew you were all I need I see him in myself through all the years It's like he's in my tears I think what he's given me The smiles and the memories But now he's not here to hold my hand In the light of the blue sky I'm not alone to fight I'll never regret what I do We're a million miles apart Is pulling my heart Like an empty bubble to be thrown Now I can't make it stop But I know in my hеart I know that I'm never alone I know that I'm nеver alone I know that I'm never alone Never alone Never alone, no He said I'm watching you from the moon I'm everywhere, see everything you do I can't see you but I know your here It's like you're in my tears I think what he's given me The smiles and the memories But now he's not here to hold my hand In the light of the blue sky I'm not alone to fight I'll never regret what I do We're a million miles apart Is pulling my heart Like an empty bubble to be thrown I can't make it stop But I know in my heart I know that I'm never alone I know I'm never alone I know that I'm never alone I wonder when I close my eyes Are you in my dreams tonight? I wonder if, I wonder if I wonder are your friends the stars? This song's for you wherever you are We're a million miles apart Is pulling my heart Like an empty bubble to be thrown I can't make it stop But I know in my heart I know that I'm never alone
Angelina not only sings with great feeling, she also writes with great feeling. Her original songs are all so real, and about meaningful things. He first "What is Life"... the name says it all... it's an 11 year old contemplating what life is. Her second song "Oslo" is about her home in Norway, and how her heart will always be there. Her third song "Shield" is about her family and how they always keep her protected. And now this song written to cope (and help others cope) with loss of a loved one. There's absolutely nothing superficial... just real messages about real things. This is the kind of artist the world needs more of. Regarding the possible autotune... you mentioned that some singers are able to achieve the autotune effect with their raw vocals. Having watched this girl amaze over and over again with the vocal techniques she is able to master, I have little doubt that if this is a thing that _can_ be done, then Angelina has probably mastered it. As far as suggestions, I have about a hundred, but I see a lot of "rather go blind" in the comments, so I will throw my hat in the ring on that one too (very "charismatic voice" on that one ;)
You are one of half a dozen reactors I look forward to with great anticipation. Your expertise in explaining the voice allows me, in some small way, hear music on a higher plane. Thank you
I've been listening to your reactions every time you do one I really enjoyed them because it's obvious you are a musical genius also one more thing I think when I first started listening to you you had maybe around seven hundred or so thousand subscribers now you're almost up to 900,000 that's incredible it's because you're so good at what you do thank you
She is quickly becoming a favorite of mine! Sooo good!!!! And there were a couple places toward the end of this song where the weirdest thing would happen. Some kind of perfect resonance would make my teeth and/or tongue vibrate to the point it was almost like I could taste her voice. Is that normal?
Thank you for this one, Elizabeth! It is a pleasure to follow your reactions. I can assure you that Angelina does not do any auto tune in this song either. That run is amazing, gives me chills every time I hear it, and it is 100% Angelina. She is just that good 👍
Her heart is so full of love and music.... she takes me places every time I hear her that are comforting to my heart. She is wonderful and so is this song! Thank you for your reaction!!
Aside from that mesmerizing voice, Angelina’s special magic her ability to connect so personally with each listener. She is without question the best interpreter of lyrics I’ve heard-as you saw in Bohemian Rhapsody. The connection is immediate-right at the opening line, and it just silences you because you don’t want to miss anything. Add in the beautiful, unique texture and flexibility of her voice and Angelina is my favorite singer of all time. No one even close. I need to hear her sing at least once everyday.
I think, it would be extremely interesting if you go back to Norway Got Talent when she won and sang live: Gloomy Sunday, I'm A Fool To Want You (aged 7), Bang Bang and in the final Summertime (aged 8). In my humble opinion she is the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) and would respect your wisdom, experience and thoughts.
I cannot understand how views for Angelina's Million Miles songs are calculated. Every time I watch one to the end, and leave the commercials intact (which is supposed to help the artist) I look at the total views minutes later and they do not show my recent activity. Angelina's official music video only has about 234K as of today 2/2/2021 but that will grow and grow Here are a few of her cover songs views: Back to Back 9.1M I Have Nothing 9.8M Feelin Good 3.6M Bang Bang 4.3M Born to Die 1.5M Young and Beautiful 1.2M Stay 1.3M Can't Help Falling in Love 3.3M Can't Take my eyes off of you 1.2M Yellow Brick Road 4.8M Bohemian Rhapsody 2.2M Lonely 775K My Way 790K Love Story 851K Diamonds are Forever 897K Million Miles (studio) 987K Million Miles(Lyric) 473K Million Miles official music Video 234+K Heal the World 779K as of last week. Not bad considering most of these were done when she was 10/11/12 years old, and why some of us fans consider her a LEGEND already.
I love your reactions. I love your professional knowledge. I love that you love so many genres of music. But what I love the most is watching your face as you reacted to Angelina. Because I know it's pretty much how I felt. And I don't have your knowledge. But I think I had your facial expressions. No one saw mine, but I felt them.
It's so wonderful to see you're back, Elizabeth! Such insightful comments from you from many points of view. I think Angelina had always had a huge arsenal of sounds, placements, timber, etc in her voice. She just has refined them over time. One year in Angelina's vocal development amounts to ten for other artists, IMO. She has quite a nice vocal range, from a warm lower register to a very loose higher chest voice. Her runs, vocal fry and vibrato are to die for! Her voice seems to envelop your soul when she sings, it's truly something unique from her. As to the message of the song, as you said, it's like kind of cathartic and also comforting for everything that's been going in the world all last year and still goes on. Many people have cried their eyes off listening to Angelina's song, or picked up the phone to call a loved one they haven't seen in a long time, etc. In marketing we say it's a "Call for Action", lol. But in this case is telling the listener to let go of all the pain, anguish or loneliness they've been experiencing or to really keep in touch with family and friends that you haven't seen. All of this says so much about Angelina as an artist and particularly as a person. This is her first original song released under her newly signed contract with Republic Records (UMG) and although she could have chosen a more pop-ish, upbeat song, she chose to send this message to the world. Such a caring, genuine, humble, soul. 💖
It really was quite amazing watching her as she developed her maturing style of voice. She always challenges her frame and abilities to the edges. She NEEDS to know what she can do always. Angelina is a wonderful gift for the world. 😊
Elizabeth you just earned a new SUBSCRIBER! Well done to read Angelina's quote about the masterpiece she created in Million Miles. Angelina has 3 other originals, "What Is Life", "Oslo" and "Shield" but also wrote new lyrics for a number of covers, most notably the Amy Winehouse songs, "Back to Black" and "Rehab". Recently I read a comment written my Jack Brown which says very well one of the things I love so much about our barefoot princess. Jack wrote, What I enjoy most about Angelina's singing is that unlike a lot of singers who approach a song with an attitude of "I'm going to use this song to showcase my vocal talents", she uses her vocal talents to showcase a song's lyrics and melody. You can tell she feels a special relationship with each song she sings, and when she sings, she conveys perfectly to the audience what the song means to her. That's what they call a "stylist" and they're rare, in any era.
She's also written English lyrics for "La Boheme" which sounds like an interesting song to sing, but Elizabeth would know better than I. ruclips.net/video/ySzuq0jr_Aw/видео.html at age 11!
Angelina's "style" just has something about it that makes her performance open doors to the listener's head, heart and soul to feel the emotion in the song.
Someone else suggested that ending the song this way, unexpectedly is reflective of losing someone, even when you know it's going to happen, you are always left like it ended unexpectedly.
Multilingual, published author, writes, arranges, sings beautiful music, 15 years old, & 6 ft tall, not to mention pretty to look at - can’t wait to see what Angelina gives us when she “grows up”!😀
@@Hans_P_G, she was probably 5’3” when she was 10...find the video from “React to the world” when they met Angelina in Los Vegas during AGT, she towers over them.
First, please never stop being "nerdy". It is fascinating your knowledge of the voice, the parts, the origins, and you have an incredible ability to express the technical aspect. Your face is so wonderfully expressive, I find myself watching you as much as the video. You are the best reactionary that I have had the pleasure to view. To Angelina. She is incredible. I have watched many of her you tubes, hours of her voice, and am always fascinated. There is one youtube compilation of her life that you must watch "Angelina Jordan: Goosebumps! An Introduction to Her Music". Great photography and no better video to show the complete Angelina, and I think they even explain the bare feet. It is an absolute must see for you. I appreciate you, your comments are amazing for a non singer with a voice like geese farts on a muggy morning, (direct quote from Leo Kottke which aptly applies to me). Your emotions shine brightly on a beautiful face, plus you have great hair. Please keep doing what you are doing.
Thanks for giving an understandable, TECHNICAL, explanation to what I can ONLY feel THEN comparatively describe about singers' "embodied," performances.
Listened again. Not forgiving to the fact that you, yourself, is hot damn beautiful, you expressing your appreciation for Angelina's voice, just tickles me pink. Thank you... you, yourself, being every bit beautiful
lol, your comment, "you may remember her", made me laugh sorry. I do not think it possible for anyone who has truly listened to this young lady to EVER forget her. Her voice is so unique i could pick it anywhere. As most people would. Her last name Astar says it all. Angelina will not only be a superstar, she will be a multi-mega superstar.
She deserves to be way bigger than she is. She don't sound like any other - meaning; have you heard her sing, you would know it's her, if her voice came on the radio. But im glad she does it her own way, and aren't just in it to become a star ASAP...and just wants to get megahits fast, and become rich and famous.. She doesn't care about that at all. So mature and grounded, even at 6 yo. Also the amount of faith she has in herself, and the way she does things. Behind her i her mother. who is just amazing. Not pushing her, - like many parents do. Making them these immature brats.. Like Jojo Siva is a good example of. or rather her mother. Who benefits on her daughter's success, and...just... blah.. making her daugher into a brand for kids. HAving her face on toys, clothes, bed-linen etc. Just spoiled her to the moon. That's where Angelina really shines. She's always been grounded, and also unfraid. She' still as a young girl, only sixteen. Eventhough it feels she's older, because she have showed herself to the world already, and already been around for some time. She is also so brave, and trust herself and what she does, or rather - Loves it. With control, and her originality, the way she meet these big songs head on: I put a spell on you - putting her unique style on it at 6...y...o! Then..at 13; AGT.. The Bohemian Rhapsody, and also Yellow Brick Road.. If I didn't know it was Queen and Elton John, i would think it was her song, which it actually, kinda becomes, as original she makes it her own. No one had heard it done - non of them - in the way she did. Again... She was thirteen. She is an example of those people; She didn't choose music, and ''i want to be famous superstar'', but instead one of those people where music found her; She's born to do what she does. At thirteen she was already where most are much later. AND SHES STILL JUST at SIXTEEN.... That's 1-6... 16.. She don't need to hurry. Just keep working and walking the roasd shes walking. We gonna hear more from her... Guarantied! Looking forward t it alraedy
The best review that I have read on Angelina Vegard. You know Angelina. Now that she is in the US, she will grow her fan base and get her own concerts. As you say, no hurry and the competition in the US is deep.
Actually I've heard some vocal coaches criticize her cover of I'd rather go blind. She over does it on the vocal fry to the point that it's actually kind of irritating. I think she was just playing around with her voice and parts of that song are great but just too much rasp at times. Don't get me wrong I discovered her like a month ago and she's rapidly become one of my favorite singers ever.
@@kroft6799 Some people really love her version of "I'd Rather Go Blind", while others done care for it. First, I don't really care for the song to begin with. And second, I'm with you on the vocal fry; too much for my taste. There are so many covers by Angelina that for me are better than the originals. This is not one of them. But then, I don't care for the original either. If I were forced to rank her covers, it would be in the bottom 10.
@@wajj1842 I actually like the song in general and have heard some great covers of it. And like I said I do like parts of what Angelina does with the song. But I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has problems with the overly done rasp. Criticizing Angelina is a dangerous thing as she has some rabid fans. Honestly I would consider myself a rabid fan too but Angelina is human and young and does occasionally have a misfire. Well, sometimes I think she's superhuman but still.
@@kroft6799 , I love listening to Angelina sing, and in my opinion, she is one of the best. There are very few songs she does, that I'm not fond of, but "I'd Rather Go Blind" is one of them, and Back To Black" is another. I discovered 2 people a little over 2 years ago, and Beth Hart sing "I'd Rather Go Blind" is my all time favorite. I think it's just all personal preference. I must say, as much as I like Beth singing that song, and don't care for Angelina's version, I still listen to Angelina at least half a dozen times a day, and haven't listened to Beth Hart in at least a month. LOL
@@wajj1842 and #kroft67....can you not criticize a song just because you don't like it? Even if this is sung by someone who makes it their own? If the interpretation has been performed well by this singer and is played with, then the criticism is only your own feeling!? But what does your own feeling have to do with the ability of the interpreter? I don't like Her interpretation of Queen, "The Show must go on". Please do not get it wrong (although this statement is complete nonsense, superfluous should / is) It is sung great, only Her interpretation has something disharmonious for me. But these are MY feelings and have nothing to do with Her ability and Her singing talent! Isnt it?
Hi Elizabeth, I Loved this performance and your reaction. It has been a while since you last reacted to Angelina and in that short time, she has grown into a more mature and beautiful singer. Although still at a young age, she puts her heart and soul into this song and w/ the accompanying piano and cello, are all Amazing! Thank You, Elizabeth, for this Heartwarming video!!! ❤ ❤ ❤
I think one of the most stunning aspects of Angelina's career so far is that her awareness of what vocal choices and how she presents her performances has always been there. She has after all, performed (and learned from) 125 covers from 65 often iconic artists. She is an intelligent and focused sponge and picks up all those vocal and emotive tools for her use. First the choice was "match the original" or if not, how to change/improve it. She has become a master at that. As for auto-tune, I doubt she needs it ever, maybe it is added some as a commercial consideration. Proof that she doesn't need it is in her Norway's Got Talent a cappella performance of "I'm a Fool To Want You" with the competition judges in front and fellow contestants behind (all well older than her) and she delivers a rock-solid performance. Great reaction!
Angelina create her own voice in every song she perform, high, low tone, and she have always done that in any age,you hear her grown voice in this song,in this liveperformance.
Love your reaction .. I listen to it 3 times .. I have followed this young lady now for about 4 years , I simply love her music 🎶 , I think your reactions are thumbs up 👍 .. I think this song was produced by world famous Stargate music production so Republic Records are going first class with there new artists

"Above the water": ruclips.net/video/SC3F0bKKk3U/видео.html - interesting voice - even if this is not my preferred genre ;-) ... here her "mini concert" from AGT the Champions (Watch out: With these videos other reactors have the most problems with copyright claims...): "Bohemian Rhapsody": ruclips.net/video/7gQljxeaNuM/видео.html "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road": ruclips.net/video/NVRWYEk8T3A/видео.html “Someone You Loved": ruclips.net/video/0go_TIm4jtI/видео.html Besides she is mostly making her very own arrangement there are some very interesting videos of her, where she uses the original arrangement or a big one of someone else like "I Have Nothing" (Whitney Houston Tribute) ruclips.net/video/eTcvvO6B3Io/видео.html or "Fly Me To The Moon" in the arrangement of Quincy Jones (rehearsal with concert mixed audio for his birthday party in the O2 arena): ruclips.net/video/OMkwoqUNNkE/видео.html . And here is a video where it is explained (with English subtitles) why she performs barefoot: ruclips.net/video/A-OKLslO74Y/видео.html and here an Interview in the Norwegian TV (with English subtitles) from 2015 after she has published her book about the story why she is barefoot when performing: ruclips.net/video/-cCLDY0CSZ8/видео.html In addition to school she got also vocal training at the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program (I read, that this school said, they couldn't teach her more stuff because she has all learned what she could learn in this school ;-) ) - and btw. she plays also grand piano, violin, flute and guitar, make her arrangements herself, wrote a book, sew clothes for herself (partly with art from her grandma like in her first AGT performance and in her music video "Shield"). So she is a real all-rounder and I think all her fans are eager to see and hear what she is doing next... And a little explanation: Her cover "I put a spell on you" b/w studio version at 9yo (ruclips.net/video/nwFloCPXzCs/видео.html - btw. she made most of her cover arrangements by herself!) based on the original from Screemin' Jay Hawkins (from 1956) - Live: ruclips.net/video/7kGPhpvqtOc/видео.html or another version of it: ruclips.net/video/orNpH6iyokI/видео.html and here a version from 1990 in Tokyo - I feel, this is like the version Angelina has taken as the model, but I don't know it ( ;-) ): ruclips.net/video/Bb9ag8bch_U/видео.html or as Audio-Studio-Version: ruclips.net/video/82cdnAUvsw8/видео.html) that's real fun - if you watch this too and may be after this watch Angelinas cover again you will find out that Angelinas cover is a real tribute to Jay Hawkins :-D Thanks a billion again for your reaction! … and see you soon with your next AJ reactions - with greetings from Berlin/Germany :-D Best regards Andreas
The thing that makes Angelina such a consummate vocalist is that from the beginning she has always strived to express true feeling in the songs she sings, even as a young child. It seems that some people find it impossible for young children to express deep feelings, but there is always the natural born virtuoso, though rare, she is one. The way it can happen is that a baby is exposed to a certain type of music which touches, and resonates in their spirit. The music may inspire them in a way that makes them try to imitate the exact type of musical sounds that touch them so deeply. Angelina does not use auto tune because she has perfect pitch, and she has trained herself, over her young life, to also have just about perfect voice control. If you are able to take the time to follow her progression through her many covers, you would see her development along the way. Along with her great talent, she has put in the work. Oh, and one more thing. She is also a virtuoso in her performances because she is a consummate storyteller through her interpretation of songs, which gives her the ability to tototaly capture her audience.
Elizabeth, nice to see you react to Angelina again. I understand your approach to doing reactions and a lot of her covers, although beautifully done and she makes them her own, are beyond in depth analysis. You did comment you would love to hear more of her originals. Elizabeth, if you feel some songs are not appropriate for your style of reacting, please listen to them privately for your enjoyment. Everything she does touches our hearts and that's what it is all about.
How well Angelina grew up both externally and vocally, turned into a beautiful girl and her voice sounded richer, more colorful..Blossom,my favorite singers-Angelina and Diana, and continue to surprise the whole world..
Thanks for this really wonderful and interesting reaction to this live version of the song, Elizabeth. Seeing her sing after one year of the last public performance, in this beautiful black & white video is absolutely wonderful, after having listened to her voice hundreds of times in the previous video, to see her now interpret her song with such skill, is absolutely fantastic, she makes you stand there, in full admiration for her evolution, as a person and as a singer, it's impossible to break away from it. This is a very sweet and very intense song dedicated with infinite love to the missing grandfather and to all the people who have lost someone, but it's also a song full of hope, with beautiful lyrics. 😊❤️ Elisabeth, you might also see her last official video version of this beautiful song, released last week, it's just emotional. 🤗 official video - ruclips.net/video/XA1_CUaM52I/видео.html There are actually three other her wonderful original songs and they were written and sung for the first time, between 11 and 12 years of age: "Shield" ruclips.net/video/lQtUbVKb0vs/видео.html "Oslo" ruclips.net/video/R2HkKh_Cp8I/видео.html ruclips.net/video/MfWVcDQix4Y/видео.html "What is life" ruclips.net/video/Bv0r77KN7RA/видео.html And there are also 2 other songs written specifically to be sung by her and sung at 13 years of age: "A Song For A" (Nico Cartosio): ruclips.net/video/Bo3mhxPM-uA/видео.html "Above The Water" (TRXD): ruclips.net/video/rpdHJJQAd9Y/видео.html
Wow!!! It's great to have you back with Angelina, it has been a very long time. You should see the video that has just come out. She is just wonderful. Thank you. Take care.
I only recently started listening to these reaction videos and try to find those that are created by vocal coaches, as I receive an education on singing and the voice as an instrument. This education is not for my own singing, as I truly can NOT sing, but it helps me be better informed of what I'm listening to, giving me a greater appreciation for a vocalist. YOU are my favorite! You clearly are a master of your craft and communicate well while also revealing your own feeling about a performance or artist. Your enthusiasm is contagious, making the clip very entertaining (in addition to the education). So, thank you for what you do. One thing I would have liked to hear is regarding her tremendous talent as a songwriter, ESPECIALLY at this age.
Since leaving my original post, I did a bit of research and now understand some of the reasons I enjoy and respect your reactions. Your credentials are truly impressive (example: Curtis ). I am going to check out some of your recordings. Brava!
You know when an artist sings a song with high spots your waiting for those with Angelina your not. That’s because the WHOLE song is special Awesome reaction ❤️🇨🇦
on a completely different track .. I was watching a video on some artwork and they were talking about the difficulty of artists to draw/paint hands. I was watching Elizabeth's hands which she uses while talking and thinking .. what a great set of models for aspiring artists ...
I may have told you before but you are so good at what you do and rafting you really going to detail and your enthusiasm is infectious I love your reactions especially when you do Angelina!
That was a beautiful reaction,I enjoyed every second of it.Hopefully you find the time to react to her official music video. If not maybe you could briefly comment on it during your next reaction to her music.
Sheesh, such an powerful song and voice, gave me chills. I miss my parents and grandparents ❤️❤️ Luckily mom and dad visits my dreams. Once dad said to me, never get an mercedes. i was like, okay 😂😂 (I have my little corolla)... Ans an suggestion, Lara Fabian -Broken vow. She twirls my socks, it's a shame how underrated her talent is.
Hello lovely fans! If you're enjoying my reaction & analysis videos and learning more about music, I recommend checking out my Music Appreciation Course! This course deep dives into time signatures, tempo, pitch, dynamics, key, music production, and most of all, vocal registers! I guarantee it will make your music listening experience that much better. You can find the course on my website here: thecharismaticvoice.com/
Can you here her vocal effect that has an electronic like sound (Fry, verb ado & switching from head to chest quickly) "It's pulling my heart" listen to that verse. It's masterful!
You must start hearing more of her performance because each time you hear something different in her tone of voice. Another thing the map of the world that is behind you and the white pins that are on them are destinations you have been to or do you intend to be in? There are a lot of countries there 😊
Superb and detailed analysis as always, and i love how the love and respect for our Angel remains in your smile even during technical discussion! Keep up the great work! ❤🤗
Thank you for sharing your intelligent heartfelt insight. As a dancer & musician, I appreciate your observations, enthusiasm, & explanations. The smooth abrupt ending feels like a metaphor. This song really gets to me; I lost my dad & several friends in the past 18 months.
So glad you came back to Angelina. Your analysis is always informative and your enthusiasm is contagious. It's obvious by the number of requests for your reactions to other artists that folks respect your approach and knowledge. Good on you!! I love what you do. I hope you will do more reactions to Angelina's past. Many have asked for "I'd Rather Go Blind ". I also love "Summertime " from Norway's Got Talent (all on that show are impressive). Of course. I love anything Angelina, so I'll just wait for whatever you get to. This song is very "sticky" indeed. I find myself singing parts of it at random times. Thanks for this.
We just released merchandise! Check out the full line-up here: thecharismaticmerch.com
I am in the education line, and I can tell that you are an excellent teacher.
If you want to look at my funny Valentine six years is 16 then and you’ll see the change in her voice it’s the it’s amazing
I agree, look at her mouth during that run, she's singing. No auto tune.
Are the audience there is no other thing I guarantee you mean my wife there with the midwest America to hear her saying and there’s no autotune exactly like you just heard it
Already in 2020 in AGT you could hear her perform those runs and fry effects, and bohemian rhapsody is the proof she'll never need autotune : she starts it a capella and is straight pitch perfect (just look at the face Simon makes hearing that... he was stunned !)
She's really matured but without loosing what made her so great when she was younger : her soul and charisma.
Master peice Thank god
Why is this song not the year's best song and performance of the year - The Grammys are totally lost in space.
"other?"
Master peice
I'm just glad i've lived long enough to hear this young lady sing.
My thoughts exactly... Listening to her - is absolutely wonderful, for a few moments it takes the aches and pains away.
Master of her craft......super lady
after listening to Angelina for a year, almost daily, my conclusion is that she is a really honest singer. I don't think she will auto-tune any performance. She has many performances with just a mic, sitting on a small room and she sounds amazing.
Fernando What about all her amazing performances with no mic? (Always on My Mind, Ain't Not Sunshine, If You Go Away, etc., etc., etc.)
Shut up
That is so true Yes sometime she sounds like an Instrument
So you were in the studio when she recorded that to be so sure ? there is definitely autotune and it is not an insult, listen at 3:13, the run is a typical R&B autotune run) ! Ed sheeran use autotune in all his songs ...
@@fredt7518 there is no auto tune in there. I believe you're talking nonsense.
Her voice has matured so well, and she still has the ability to sing from the heart!
I'm no voice coach, nor am I a gambler, but I would bet that there is no auto tune involvement in this song. Ii's all Angelina...
The auto tune that I hear in this video is not there on the official music video:
ruclips.net/video/XA1_CUaM52I/видео.html
The version on Spotify also does not have it. I’m so glad. She doesn’t need it!
@@Sahadev108 There is no auto tune in any of her versions of this song. Or others, for that matter (except her EDM-song Above the water, where they did it just for effect). She never needs it.
Whichever way works for thinking about "how, etc." just keeps folks interested.
The lyrics in this song pulled me in right in the feels. Loved your analysis as always, Liz ❤
Hi Juliette, looks like Krakino's tentacle was slowly crawling up the bottom of Lilith's dress!?! 🐙 😲
@@kirbys1370 🤫🤭
Lovely song indeed.
Lyrics Million Miles by Angelina Jordan
When I was child
I walked the streets
They see me growing up
Knew you were all I need
I see him in myself through all the years
It's like he's in my tears
I think what he's given me
The smiles and the memories
But now he's not here to hold my hand
In the light of the blue sky
I'm not alone to fight
I'll never regret what I do
We're a million miles apart
Is pulling my heart
Like an empty bubble to be thrown
Now I can't make it stop
But I know in my hеart
I know that I'm never alone
I know that I'm nеver alone
I know that I'm never alone
Never alone
Never alone, no
He said I'm watching you from the moon
I'm everywhere, see everything you do
I can't see you but I know your here
It's like you're in my tears
I think what he's given me
The smiles and the memories
But now he's not here to hold my hand
In the light of the blue sky
I'm not alone to fight
I'll never regret what I do
We're a million miles apart
Is pulling my heart
Like an empty bubble to be thrown
I can't make it stop
But I know in my heart
I know that I'm never alone
I know I'm never alone
I know that I'm never alone
I wonder when I close my eyes
Are you in my dreams tonight?
I wonder if, I wonder if
I wonder are your friends the stars?
This song's for you wherever you are
We're a million miles apart
Is pulling my heart
Like an empty bubble to be thrown
I can't make it stop
But I know in my heart
I know that I'm never alone
Thank you.

🕊🤍🎼🎤🎷📀🎙🎹🎹🎻
I'm glad to see that you didn't laugh at her like you did when you reacted to the "I put a spell on you" video.
Thank you for this one, Elizabeth! It is a pleasure to follow your reactions. I can assure you that Angelina does not do any auto tune in this song either. That run is amazing, gives me chills every time I hear it, and it is 100% Angelina. She is just that good 👍
Thank you Elizabeth - you and Angelina are both GREAT!
Her heart is so full of love and music.... she takes me places every time I hear her that are comforting to my heart. She is wonderful and so is this song! Thank you for your reaction!!
She is getting better and better, and IMO is a legend already. Great words to the song, and as a new Grandpa, I understand
The song very well.
Yes, from a cute little troll to a powerhouse of a young woman she always been true to her heart!
Loving your Angelina reactions. No auto tune, she really doesn't need it and the more you react the more you will know.
Angelina - SUPER !!!
I've heard this many times and cry every time. Where she will be in another 7 years will be interesting.
My other go back to track, Stay.
She has so many more performances that show many more abilities
Love Angelina Jordan and love your reactions and appreciation of her amazing talent. Hello to you from Phoenix.
@@genevapriest6190 Amen!!!!

Someone else suggested that ending the song this way, unexpectedly is reflective of losing someone, even when you know it's going to happen, you are always left like it ended unexpectedly.

@@Hans_P_G Where did you get that idea from? Go watch and listen to: ruclips.net/video/A-r1iWPHeLg/видео.html
@@Hans_P_G, she was probably 5’3” when she was 10...find the video from “React to the world” when they met Angelina in Los Vegas during AGT, she towers over them.
Wikipedia sez 5' 3". Some vid clipper reactors give 184cm what's 5' 11",so ......
@@kurtsnyder4752 Just checked Wikipedia and can find no reference to Angelina's height. 184cm = 6.03ft.
No effects, Just her. That's what I'm talking about.
Es un prodigio! nació para hacer esto! que suerte tenemos
Listened again. Not forgiving to the fact that you, yourself, is hot damn beautiful, you expressing your appreciation for Angelina's voice, just tickles me pink. Thank you... you, yourself, being every bit beautiful
I think the abrupt ending leaves you wanting more, and the tendency is probably to listen to it again.
It is going to be a pleasure to sit back and watch how she changes the music industry...
lol, your comment, "you may remember her", made me laugh sorry.
This never fails to make me cry. For you Dad!
Love your very in depth critique of my Favorite singer Miss Angelina Jordan💕
You will lover her cover of Etta James's "I'd rather go blind" - most Vocal coaches do :)
Isnt it?
I agree you will love her version of Id rather go blind
OMG, her voice grabs you by the heart, beautiful execution!
So wonderful to see you back with Angelina!
A beautiful reaction to a beautiful song beautifully performed!
Angelina is the best female vocalist, and you are the best music reactor. Oh, and I love Opera.
I love it when you totally nerd out on a performance. I helps me to hear elements that I sometimes don't catch. Thanks!
I love your passion, your emotions, your love that can be read on your face when you rate it, thank you
That's it! Its her fearlessness. The only way she ever could have gotten it, by never having been afraid to try. 💖 your reactions. 👍👍
✌😎
Hi Elizabeth,
you are just some months in the universe of Angelina Jordan - thanks a billion for this lovely and professional reaction to her - I'm sure to hear more reactions from you! I think you know it already:
Since your first song sung by AJ that you listened to you are assimilated in Angelinas entourage! Resistance is futile...
Even if you won't believe it and if you are in denial about it: Only listen to one song sung by Angelina Jordan and you are hooked on listening her voice! May be you aren't aware of it yet... a legend says in rare cases there are humans who can resist.... but I can't believe it ;-)
I really wonder how you could resist to react to more songs of Angelina in the last months... ;-)
Every time it's a pleasure to watch people reacting to Angelina Jordan - not only when it is the first time - and I hope to see more of your reactions on Angelina Jordan... ;-)
Here are some facts I give normally the newcomers - but you may be will find some more news for you or some of your followers in the following lines...
There is a big pile of over 130 videos on RUclips with Angelina Jordans rehearsals, covers and originals...
She is born 10th January 2006 in Oslo/Norge (English is her 3rd language ;-) ), sung her first notes of a Whitney Houston song with 18 months (link see down), started researching the internet for Jazz 3 yo, entered Norske Talenter (Norwegian Got Talent) 7 yo and won it 8 yo, was on AGT The Champions (recorded Oct. 2019, aired Jan. 2020) where she didn't won - some rumours say because she/her mother didn't sign the contract with the enterprise of Simon Cowell for to stay independend - meanwhile she has signed with Republic Records (musicnorway.no/news/industry-talk-michael-astar/).

2. "Above the water": ruclips.net/video/SC3F0bKKk3U/видео.html - interesting voice - even if this is not my preferred genre ;-)

Besides she is mostly making her very own arrangement there are some very interesting videos of her, where she uses the original arrangement or a big one of someone else like "I Have Nothing" (Whitney Houston Tribute) ruclips.net/video/eTcvvO6B3Io/видео.html or "Fly Me To The Moon" in the arrangement of Quincy Jones (rehearsal with concert mixed audio for his birthday party in the O2 arena): ruclips.net/video/OMkwoqUNNkE/видео.html .
And here is a video where it is explained (with English subtitles) why she performs barefoot: ruclips.net/video/A-OKLslO74Y/видео.html and here an Interview in the Norwegian TV (with English subtitles) from 2015 after she has published her book about the story why she is barefoot when performing: ruclips.net/video/-cCLDY0CSZ8/видео.html
In addition to school she got also vocal training at the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program (I read, that this school said, they couldn't teach her more stuff because she has all learned what she could learn in this school ;-) ) - and btw. she plays also grand piano, violin, flute and guitar, make her arrangements herself, wrote a book, sew clothes for herself (partly with art from her grandma like in her first AGT performance and in her music video "Shield").
So she is a real all-rounder and I think all her fans are eager to see and hear what she is doing next...
All the other things like more recommendation, chronological playlists and so on you can read in the comments of the mega-fans like Fernando F., Rusty ...
And a little explanation:
Her cover "I put a spell on you" b/w studio version at 9yo (ruclips.net/video/nwFloCPXzCs/видео.html - btw. she made most of her cover arrangements by herself!) based on the original from Screemin' Jay Hawkins (from 1956) - Live:
ruclips.net/video/7kGPhpvqtOc/видео.html
or another version of it:
ruclips.net/video/orNpH6iyokI/видео.html
and here a version from 1990 in Tokyo - I feel, this is like the version Angelina has taken as the model, but I don't know it ( ;-) ): ruclips.net/video/Bb9ag8bch_U/видео.html
or as Audio-Studio-Version:

that's real fun - if you watch this too and may be after this watch Angelinas cover again you will find out that Angelinas cover is a real tribute to Jay Hawkins :-D
Thanks a billion again for your reaction! … and see you soon with your next AJ reactions - with greetings from Berlin/Germany :-D Best regards

There is no way she uses autotune. Just mastery of the delicate note.
I hope we keep hearing from this young artist for many years.
Great review! Thanks for posting
Elisabeth, you might also see her last official video version of this beautiful song, released last week, it's just emotional. 🤗

Brava!
Speaking of John Legend I'm sure you will like her singing "All Of Me"

Awesome reaction ❤️🇨🇦
Great point. I don't wait for anything down the line in her songs, because I'm so drawn into every single moment she is singing.
Lol, I had the same reaction when the song ended. Such a beautiful tune!
on a completely different track .. I was watching a video on some artwork and they were talking about the difficulty of artists to draw/paint hands. I was watching Elizabeth's hands which she uses while talking and thinking .. what a great set of models for aspiring artists ...

Can you here her vocal effect that has an electronic like sound (Fry, verb ado & switching from head to chest quickly) "It's pulling my heart" listen to that verse. It's masterful!
Agreed! Looking forward to it.
What is life?
The collection of emotions.
And this song definitely full fill all the collection at once.
