Everyone else carried the show for the rest of the series. Everyone had a better storyline. Even Abby Morgan was more interesting I was disappointed they killed her off so soon.

The moment where I realized that I despised Dawson. He has the nerve to gaslight Joey and blame her for his actions, when he didn't break up with his girlfriend before they slept together!
He had no intention to sleep with her there and then, he did not plan it, it was the moment for both of them. As he said, they did not even speak the whole summer, neither of them had any clue that the evening would turn out like this. I tend to agree that he did not break the magic by telling her right at the moment, but he was decent enough to do it first thing in the morning (as soon as possible). He might not gave been fair to the girl he was seeing for that night (cheating), but again, he was fair enough to make the call asap. Joey was just Joey in this scene, trying to be so perfectly correct without considering what the circumstances were the previous night, and judgmental enough to push him away.
I liked PJ more, but Dawson did not do anything wrong in this particular case and tried to be fair to anybody involved WITHOUT ruining a magical night he had been dreaming of for years.
Natasha was always cheating on Dawson to begin with. So no real relationship existed between them at all.
@@feelgood7 But he did ruined a "magical night" the moment Joey found out about the girlfriend. The decent thing was tell her the truth, because by not wanting to destroy a magical night, he practically destroyed his entire relationship with Joey.
@@xtltokioreal2736 He did not destroy anything, Joey reacted the way it destroyed their starting relationship. Dawson did the right thing. He did not plan to seduce Joey while having a GF, the moment just happened between them. He did not come clean about this to Joey earlier because it did not have any significance at the time. He and Joey were and were intended to remain friends. The moment this fact gained significance was the very moment they started to kiss. I do not think he was even conscious enough to think clearly then.
He went for a coffee (actually, to do the breakup with his GF!) first thing in the morning and then came back with some romantic gestures like the flower. How on earth would anyone come back to the room after a night like this starting with: 'Good morning, I have good news! As soon as I had woken up I went out and called my now ex-girlfriend and broke up with her. I think you need to know this right away that it is handled." It did not have any meaning (he was not in a relationship) by the time Joey found it out. She simply overreacted the way Joey always does. :)

Dawson and Joey were always better as friends, in my opinion. They just didn't have the same chemistry as Joey and Pacey had. ♥️

Dawson was wrong for not telling Joey about his girlfriend. He had plenty of time to do so before them sleeping together happened. It’s that little unspoken rule they have they don’t talk about their sex lives because they’re that dysfunctional. Joey had a right to be upset and then they go right into the same fight and pattern they always do when trying to force the romance issue with them. They just don’t work romantic wise. I was glad Joey shut the door on them for good after this. It was enough.

Yeah, I hated how they kept the Dawson-Joey thing going on, but with Pacey in season 5 it’s ridiculous, like they didn’t have a history before. Which, btw was way brighter than awkward attempts to build a romantic relationship between Joey and Dawson.

It made perfect sense to me cause the whole Pacey/Joey relationship felt exactly like a crush does, and a crush normally fades away. Unlike with Dawson where they were always hung up on each other on every season

you really cant, you can no more tell some dysfunctional by a few min clip then you can tell what wrong in a engine of a car by looking at the outside of the car.
No they were so dysfunctional because the writers never gave them a chance to be together and be happy. They always threw little forced details to break them apart and keep them away, it never happened organically from their personalities, like when Pacey and Joey broke up because of their own flaws clashed and exploded.
Hate the writers for this very reason, Dawson and Joey ALWAYS wanted to be together but were never allowed to. When they’re actually together I see absolutely nothing that could potentially break them apart, whereas with P/J I instantly saw Pacey’s insecurity being a problem and Joey’s past with Dawson and her dreams for the future, made them bound to clash.
The worst mistake for both of them to sleep together. They'r so much better as bestfriends.

Because I hate how awkward they made the morning after Pacey and Joey’s first time, I’m taking this opportunity to leave some gossip from back in the day… James and Katie slept together once or maybe twice after she and Josh broke up (during one of their off-again phases because Josh and Katie “allegedly” kept hooking up on and off throughout the entire filming of the series). Once, when Katie was drunk, she allegedly said that Josh was much better in bed than James. And that doesn’t surprise me at all. 😂

honestly, i see both sides. just because dawson was dating someone doesn't mean they were exclusive, really the only one who deserved an explanation was the one he was ending things with. however, given joey and dawson's history it would have been better to be completely foretelling. that was a cross in the road and they simply took the same path they always have. their problem is that they always ran away from the tough conversations. it's the story of their friendship. they love each other and still rely on each other but somewhere along the way they stopped talking to each other. so have the tough conversation, you dont know what will come out of it.

That’s a fact man. I just don’t get the infatuation for Pacey and Joey. Like I said they had good moments. But if you really pay attention it was kind of toxic a lot of times. Dawson, for me was the character that really grew up and changed. It’s like the writers didn’t understand their own story arch for these characters. Everything that should have happened was right there in front of them, all the way up to the finale. And they dropped the ball. Dawson’s arch alone was fantastic because from who he was in season one to season six. He was the one who truly grew up. He was the heart of the show. It was Dawson’s Creek, not Paceys Pond, Not Joeys Lake. And Yes Andie! Pacey was definitely at his best with her.

I nearly puked when they slept together. The actor is handsome, it's just they always had a brother sister vibe to me Joey is right, it felt like Dawson slept with her because finally the moment came and lord forbid a minor detail like another girl get in the way. Calls her a scared little girl, what a pathetic creep. He was the one who was scared of missing out on sleeping with her.
When I watched this, he was dumb. When watching back to back. They made a big thing of Joey and Dawson at the end of the previous season. The not talking made no sense, the girl in LA made no sense. This fall apart made no sense

I get why everyone loves Pacey so much. I like him too. He is the funny impulsive lovable "underdog." But I'll never understand why people hate on Dawson so much. Dawson is a more realistic character. Pacey is like a fantasy perfect boyfriend. His only true flaw is he doesn't think he's good enough.🙄 The show was actually written for Dawson and Joey to end up together. The only reason it was Joey and Pacey in the end is because that's what the fans wanted because of Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes chemistry together (because they dated in real life). But really the writing was foreshadowing Dawson and Joey from the first episode to the finale. And that would have a more beautiful story but alas you can't fight chemistry.

Joey was definitely indecisive and selfish one too many times. Honestly stopped liking her character after season 3. She initiated a relationship with Dawson in the first place and ended up dragging him through the mud at every turn after that. Dude should've moved on. I'm surprised he remained friends with Joey and Pacey after they did him dirty with that super sized betrayal.
Her character is black and white like Dawson, she tought it was a sign that he had another girl and he made her the other woman so he could be her soulmate.

I think since season 2 Joey realized Dawson wasn't the right one for her, which is why she was no longer with and was able to fall completely in love with Pacey.
But Dawson remained her safe place, a teenage dream that never came to fruition. Therefore, whenever she was not well or felt lost or when he came to her, she gave in to the closeness. But she has known for a long time they were not meant to each other. So yeah, part of her regretted the next day while the part of her that refuses to grow up and give up on Dawson just kept going with the flow until Dawson's revelation stopped her from continuing the denial.
Or it could be a case of seeing what you want to see especially if you don't like the couple 🤔

The last two seasons got more and more abysmal. Sad after the phenomenal 3rd season where they gave us one of the best romances on TV
I just don't understand why they changed the characters so much. I understand that they're growing up, experiencing new things, blah blah, but no one wants to see Joey "rocking out" on stage, or watch Dawson sleep around, which his character was built up not to do. Oh well.
I rewatched seasons 3 and 4 several times, but hardly remember what was going on later. I kinda hoped Joey and Dawson never slept together :(

I completely agree! I think that Dawson and Jen had so much more chemistry than Dawson and Joey. And everyone seems to just skip over all of the great moments he and Jen had over the course of the show. Like the time they went swimming naked in 2x09, or the time in 4x23 when they were talking outside of Dawson’s house before he went off to college or the time Jen gave him sex advice in 3x03. Jen and Dawson were the most unproblematic couple on this show next to Andie and Pacey. If Joey hadn’t had feelings for Dawson and Dawson knew how to treat women they never would’ve broken up in S1 and would’ve dated all through high school
