I concur... it took me a couple days to search youtube vids for help after my first feeble venture with the 'quick help' info that came with the product.. I'm so glad to hear you were able to move on with the aid of this. Gives me hope. ;-)
This is a wonderful tutorial! Thank you for sharing. I plan to buy this software for my iMac. Is it possible to place a large panel for an embroidery motif in the center of the quilt, instead of all blocks on the software?
Hi Genie! Glad you enjoyed the tutorial! Yes, you can import a panel in EQ8. Here's a quick lesson on designing with a panel on our support site, to give you an idea of the process: support.electricquilt.com/articles/importing-a-panel-image/ Let us know if you have any other questions!
This looks like wonderful software and this demo is very well done and helpful. Can I insert a pattern that I have purchased, such as a coloring page for the pattern, so that I can play with color and/or fabric placement? Thank you.
Hi Kathy! You cannot insert a pattern. You would need to recreate it within EQ8 (respecting the copyright of course!). If you have any other questions please email techsupport@electricquilt.com and we'll be happy to help further.
This has been great. I am following carefully and my print preview for the rotary cutting is different. It is giving me 7/8 instead of 1/4 inch marks. What have I done wrong? thanks
When I clicked in the center block to add the variable star variation, every block was filled with it, I don't know what I did wrong, why I can't select specific blocks. All the squares are filled with whichever block I select.
Hello! It sounds like you are holding down the Ctrl or Cmd key while clicking on a space. That is the keyboard shortcut to fill all spaces at once. Make sure you are not holding down any keys on your keyboard and then click on a block space to set the block in that single space. If you have other questions, or need more help, you can contact EQ tech support at techsupport@electricquilt.com
Hi Lillian, You can only print the foundation for one block at a time. If you have any other questions please contact us at techsupport@electricquilt.com and we'll be happy to help further.
We do have a lot of users that watch videos on their phones or tablets and have EQ8 on their computers. We also have lots of resources available including a Reference Manual and Lesson Books. Not thrilled. I did a design, color and everything and saved & named exactly as you said several times along the way as I tried different colors and modifications. Now I open it and all thats there is the basic block from beginning layout, no color or modifications. Now I'm trying to redo the whole thing and the "undo" tool wont work. WHY DID I BUY THIS????? A pencil and paper worked for years and was alot cheaper.
Hi Kathy, I'm sorry you're having trouble. Do you have multiple quilts saved in the project, and only viewing the first one? Around the 15:50 mark in the video, it talks about seeing the first saved quilt and how to change the view in the Sketchbook to see multiple quilts at once. If you have more questions, please contact us at techsupport@electricquilt.com or live chat with us on our website (www.ElectricQuilt.com). We're happy to help!
@@ElectricQuilt Hi. Thank you for reaching out to me. To answer your question I was just working on designing a quilted pillow cover and I was having issues with saving it and reopening it later. I did more poking around on RUclips to figure it out and I stumbled on a wonderful video by OnPoint TV with Nancy which helped me immensly and now I have no problems. This is the link to the video is: ruclips.net/video/w8nUpH6fQYE/видео.html. So I now went and designed 2 more pillow covers last night and am very happy with Electric Quilt. Thank you.

This was much easier to follow than even the 'quick help' info included with the product. Thank you!

Hello! Check your settings in the Print Rotary Cutting Chart window. Is the Rounding set to 1/8? It sounds like it may be set to 1/16.

Is there a way to print multiple foundations on one page? The quilt design has 4, but only one shows on the print preview.
