Speaking as someone who's always struggled with the very idea of physical activity and who tends toward far too intense bursts when I do make an attempt at it, it was very comforting to hear you say that there's no shame in going lighter, in doing what you can. Both trainers that I've hired have been dismissive of my limits and made the idea of working out even more abhorrent, so it is nice to have an "encouraging big brother" voice to counterbalance those experiences. Thank you for that, and for sharing a bit of your routine.
I started working out beginning of 2023 and it was one of the best things I ever did for myself. Cool to see you out here encouraging people to be the best they can be. TMDWU
For me, it's all about consistency & proximity to failure. 90% of programs will work if you're in the 5-30 rep range & train to or very near ( 1-3 RIR) failure.
you own a little gym on ur house? thats really great to keep ur body and mind well. And flex it since you EARNED IT through PAIN! High risk, high rewards!
So when Covid hit, our ONE 24 hour gym shut down. So I started acquiring weight from FB marketplace. Little by little. Pound by pound. Machine by machine. In my little 780 Sq. Foot basement. Then my girl and I decide to move in with each other. To an amazing Plantation style house with SO much basement space. A few horse stall mats later, we had our own gym in our basement. It's been a LONG road, and a f**king EXPENSIVE one too...but worth it.
I mainly been doing DDPYoga since I was nearing 340 in my 20s no less been at for 3 years lost 100lbs but now need to lift for that final stretch. Been messing around with kettle balls but bigs ups on the gym set up.
You wake up at 3 am and immediately load up on tons of caffeine? You don’t crash super hard by the time everyone else wakes up ? I Give myself 2 hours time before consuming caffeine.
@@BroSydePhil crazy you work early and like to work out before work? I prefer to work out after some meals so I do it after work in evening. I take pre workout too 150 to 200 mgs usually otherwise I’m too shaky. I’m 250 pounds so my breathing can’t be out of whack ha. I found waiting the 2 hours to consume caffeine after waking changed the crash I heard that waiting till after our natural cortisol spike makes your body not demand more and more caffeine because your crashing .
@@BroSydePhil I hear ya but I have a lot more power and carbs In me after eating a few meals before. I used to work out fasted now I eat constantly so only fast when sleeping lp

As much as i would love to work out its boils down to a confidence thing for me.
Not to mention id what i would be doing.
I completely get that. I'd suggest maybe starting a program or plan with a friend. So you could keep each others confidence up, and work together.

Absolutely AMAZING to hear how far you've come. Definitely keep it going! You can do it!

After work seems to be much more rough for me. Early morning makes me feel like I have a jump start on the world if that makes any sense.
