Good sermon. The devil is a "roaring lion" seeking whom he may devour. However, the devil is not omnipresent, attacking everyone at the same time across the globe. Mostly its the " old man" our old nature that we need to daily battle with to become a new creature. Be courageous clothed committed confident in our battle with our old selfish nature. The Holy Spirt is omnipresent and gives us the victory over our own fallen nature if we stay connected to the vine.

Hi Pastor Doug, Just listening to you talking about 2 Thes Ch2 is this really talking about Satan? Or is it talking about us as a people believing that we possess this power greater than Gods to do as we will in Gods temple? Just think for a moment about 1 Corinthians Ch 3 v 16 Doesn’t Paul teach us that we are Gods temple? So this being true could it be that some of us exalt ourselves above all that is called God in the temple of God as if we are gods? When I read this the phantom ability of man to choose outside what God has planned for their life comes to mind when Satan is removed out of the way. 2 Timothy Ch 2 v 25 tells us of how it works with God and how satan has ensnared us until God grants us repentance to see it. Anyway I enjoy watching your sermons just something to think about is all. With regards to Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14 are not both these passages of scripture talking about men? Like King Nebuchadnezzar? When I read Daniel Ch4 it stands out to me that the king also thought he free will to do as he pleased and everything was done according to his will and might but God corrected him in this and even though all of this happened to Nebuchadnezzar his son falls into the same trap. The wheat and the tares in Matthew 13:36-43 which are called chaff by John the Baptist and in Psalm 1 and John the Baptist says Jesus has a fan in his hand so he is the one that drives the chaff away like wind (Psalm 1) which is division that Jesus said he came to do (Luke 12) and they will not stand in judgement they end up "Where their worm never dies and their fire is never quenched" that Jesus warned in Mark 9:43-48 ,which John the Baptist said the chaff will be burned up with unquenchable fire also in Isaiah 66:22-24 which is describing the new heavens and New earth where righteous dwells in the book of Revelation 21.

Just listening to you talking about 2 Thes Ch2 is this really talking about Satan? Or is it talking about us as a people believing that we possess this power greater than Gods to do as we will in Gods temple? Just think for a moment about 1 Corinthians Ch 3 v 16 Doesn’t Paul teach us that we are Gods temple? So this being true could it be that some of us exalt ourselves above all that is called God in the temple of God as if we are gods? When I read this the phantom ability of man to choose outside what God has planned for their life comes to mind when Satan is removed out of the way. 2 Timothy Ch 2 v 25 tells us of how it works with God and how satan has ensnared us until God grants us repentance to see it.

When I read Daniel Ch4 it stands out to me that the king also thought he free will to do as he pleased and everything was done according to his will and might but God corrected him in this and even though all of this happened to Nebuchadnezzar his son falls into the same trap.
