- The largest chick ventures very close to the edge of the nest. Won't be long now.

Chick is smart, headed for the shade!
They sure are strong and well fed to be venturing so far so soon. This is gonna get interesting real soon!
I think we should name her "
Bigfoot".
Check out those talons!😂❤
Tysvm SK 🤗 They are so adorable I cannot find the words 🥰💕🌹💞
Annie and Archie are going to have their talons full with 4 screaming chicks when food arrives😂😂
I'm sure Annie is thinking " there's always one every year "😂😂
Hot weather coming up--I'm sure the Fab Four will all be wandering off looking for shade soon. Annie has that look of, "Oh, dear, already wanting to explore?" So do I--haha. You'd think I'd be used to it by now! Thanks for keeping us up on the latest antics, SKH.
Good grief. They are that curious this early. Wow.
It takes just one floof to revolt and want to explore life beyond the nest then soon enough there will be four! Annie being the protective mother she is will make sure they can venture out when the time is ready 🥰❤🐥🐥🐥🐥
Great post 😊
@@juliebirb7162 Thank you 😁
Wow so early wandering around ❤ Annie and Archie .are going to be very busy
They are seeking shade, perhaps to hot in the sun.
Uh oh! Soon 🥰
Annie: "Un oh is right..."
Big chick: "Don't know about you lot, but I'm hittin' the shade!" Definitelty, an independent streak. And I agree, SKH, a trait indeed reminiscent of 2023's Rosa. Loads of fun ahead.
@ishmyl99 I was thinking exactly! That.Reminiscent of Rosa! Little one has a mind of its own already.
@@leslie-dg4um SKH's call about Rosa... spot on, right?! 😃
Headstrong & fearless. The first-born of the lot? I haven't been following as closely as I'd like to. Its apparent size, alone, would seem to signify it as being the oldest, no? SKH, what say u?
@ishmyl99 so true! SK_H may be able to tell us whether this independent one is the oldest. A&A will indeed have their talons full!
@@leslie-dg4um Lol, I'm stressed out just by watching one feeding-video per wk! I was able to handle watching every single video of the Campanile trio of chicks last year. But this time, observing four seems to have pushed me over the ledge. lol
PF sacrifices for their progeny are head-spinning. I mean, the sheer rapid growth rate of the winged brats 😉 is mind-boggling, right?! The parents are nothing but 24/7 prey-and-feed machines. Whereas, if I was in A or A's place, I'd collapse inside 72 hrs, easy. 😵😝
Tapping SKH for hatch-sequence input, I hear ya'. The video master has eyes like a hawk... eagle... peregrine? 😁
Even now, I still can't believe that four out of four eggs hatched. (Same with San Jose City Hall Hartley & Monty's 2024 nest!)
My head is still in a kind of time-lock with the 2023 season, which was my deep-dive initiation into all-things peregrine falcon.
I hope to snap out of this time-warp soon. Meanwhile, big thanks, as always, SKH, for all your steadfast raptor-video devotions. (Do you get ANY sleep? Live off of a trust fund, or a massive, ahem, nest egg? Do you have elves who assist you? Are you a raptor angel in homo sapien disguise? All rhetorical questions, mind you. 😉)
I thought we are talking about Cal Falcon nest, why bring up San Jose City Hall Nest , very confusing
@@awagirl99 Because it's been a lovely experience for me & others to see all the eggs, in both nests, having hatched successfully. That was not the case last year. I hope this clarifies some of your confusion.
Also, Annie’s daughter on Alcatraz hatched 4 this year. It had definitely been a bumper crop year for falcons!
@@skhideaways Yes, so true! Good fortune. Much for peregrine falcon fans to be thankful for. Though they be in urban surroundings, at least these three California nests are thriving this season thus far. Fingers crossed!
Looking for shade it seems?
1 female and 3 male now ?
I'm guessing the reverse: 3 female and one male.
