The decision to streamline the drivetrain offering across the X70 and X50 ranges is a smart business move to simplify manufacturing and supply chain, although it might not be the upgrade or refresh the X70 needs after almost 5 years since launch. Still a good car, still supremely competent especially given the asking price... but I wonder what's on the horizon in 1-2 years' time...
same fuel consumption test, the 1.8L car run for 1.51h for 109.4km, but the 1.5L car run only 1.44h for 109.2km; different driving time of 7 minutes mean 1.5L driving at higher speed?
When they deplete the 1.8 drivetrain in their supply chain inventory, they'll probably do that. But by that time, this 1st gen X70 will be needing a complete refresh already.
I don't get why the 1.5t motor would be an issue. The CR-V is 1.5 also, heck the Tiguan is1.4L. So if if it's a non issue for the competition it's a non issue the 1.5t X70.

@@tarbybahbell4086 did your sa give you the chassis number yet? Cause mine was ready, so once confirmed they give the chassis number and send from tanjung malim (1week) and in my case mine was a pre reg unit to get ssm rebate. So they need another week to bring to puspakom and change name to mine.

@@csy6112 it costs like rm264 from youtube I saw yesterday. Depends on 1.5 or 1.8. For 1.8 it would be cheaper before 20000km and 1.5 would be slight higher only. My first car mazda did service on the first 1000km and they changed the oil and gasket.
Proton X70 design is for uncle and his family. Power is not the most important part. As long as it has an adequate power, comfort and spacious than uncle will happy. He won't go for Drag race anywaym

Thats the key point. 61 db. Wish next one the give option 1.5 for pano roof and retune the engine to get the same hp and torque as 1.8 model.

true, perodua FC indicator is much accurate for me, my iriz 1.3 CVT shows 6.3l/100km but the real figure is 7.2-8 L/100km depend on road type
