"We should call him butter, coz he´s on a roll"!?!?!? Chanel you´re on fire. YT cant handle that intensity of banter.
I just love Chanelle, she provides such light-heartedness, whilst Alex is full-on serious vibe and the tongs at the end for putting the clothes in the washing machine 😄 #luvU2
I haven't watched this yet. But, I guess altitude is mentioned...
If you tried riding a Zwift race at altitude, believe me, you'd be mentioning it too.
Someone should start a GoFundMe to get Alex a ruddy fan.
GeebusCripes I don’t think they could get it delivered
Wouldn't it be considered a critical item!

yeah, that's the answer to why it's hard. have a decent fan blowing at his face and another at the rest of his body and it's like ain't half as hard
Great video. Highlight was Chanel using tongs to pick up the soggy kit at the end.
+1. I laughed hard at that!
I'm at altitude merch required! :)
Nice to see somebody who recognises that Zwift is really a training tool. Its fun to race, and without the fence all group rides turn into races, but because you can cheat (120kph) and trainers accuracy may vary, you cannot account for CD etc then the only person you can really beat on Zwift is yourself. Keep up the good work Alex.
I don't like Zwift, since its "cheating". In comparison with Zwift, on other platforms (e.g. BKool), I need to put down more power, to reach the same 40+ kmh avg speed. And when compared with my memories of riding in the real world, from pre-virus times, the power needed to be put down on other platforms, feels more realistic with this regard.
What's missing here? GT2 RS. Well played, Alex, well played.
James Carl Photography whats GT2 RS?
Sage Deluce A Porsche
Very nice TT! this racing is great training. You inspire me to do some Zwift TT this spring and summer. No racing IRL so it is the best replacement we have. Hang tough Alex.
This always makes my day. I lost a massive number of calories watching you ride and sweat...goodness do you perspire! Chanel always adds just the right amount of humor with the encouraging slap on the ass and commentary. Loved it! Say hey to Albert for me.
Always look forward to the uploads 'big rig' on a zwift TT awesome 🤟
You're where I was last week. First TT, went out too hard to keep with someone I knew, slowed towards the end. Last week, paced it to "perfection" catching riders who slowed and sprinted in, went 20s slower. Hoping I'll learn from your next video!
While Chanel might be your biggest fan! And can move a lot of air when your suffering (and we love it) A static fan that keeps a jet of air will help ;)
Loving the vids
Beating PRs on a Neo is winning!
Loved the dynamic between you two.
Beg,borrow or steal a fan it honestly makes a massive difference, you might even hit 370w ave 🤣 but then again you are at altitude. Maybe get two fans 🤔🤣🤣
I raced during the week with two fans instead of one and gained 10 Watts on my ftp and got DQ'd from my cat lol
I swear my favourite shorts give me an extra 10 watts in my head, when coupled with my favourite socks make that an extra 5 watts on top. Another brilliant insightful and honest video, go Alex!
the only highlight of my rest day
Should retitle the video “Chanel terrorising Alex whilst he time trials for 16 minutes straight”
Patreon page needed, the man needs some FREAKING FANS!
You are a proofen real life champion whereas many guys on zwift are online heros. Same in any esports: „show it on lan!“ thanks for awesome videos!
Alex, Zwift’s own ‘Fast Tuesday’ TT’s are on the same course (but 18km instead of 16km and use the conveyor belt staggered start. The Zwift event is repeated several times during Tue/Wed morning so you get a few opportunities to ride it. The Newbury Velo midweek (Wed- 7pm) and weekend (Sat- 10am) TT’s are the same course and start and very popular - 1000 riders entered the one on Saturday just gone.
Might try your TT tips ride this Wednesday followed by the Newbury if my legs are still working.
Absolute nutter! and good effort Alex!
No one but you is on a tt bike in a tt position. They're all on road bikes hammering in the most upright position they can, with likely better virtual equipment (faster bikes and wheels) (that's not mentioning the calibration, height and weight doping (yes height matters)). Props to you for doing it, filming it and having a sense of perspective on it.
How do you know no else is on a tt bike? Alex mentioned a bunch of guys were British tters. Those guys would use their tt position when doing this type of training.
@@MB-pq4hx okay captain pedantry, sure, they might. So for all the super offended 6 w/kg TTers out there that are crying at home because I maligned them I sincerely apologise.
EricMichaelManuel Strawman, you said everyone wasn’t in the tt position, now it’s about 6wkg. Why you needed to insult me about it, my mistake for being dumb enough to make a comment on youtube I guess.
There's nothing to stop cheats in this form of racing. It's worse than Strava.
@@EricMichaelManuel 😂😂
My favourite part of your vlogs is Chanel's commentary :)
When i watch here in Florida at sea level Alex finished in the top 10!
Alex, Zwift recommend you do a calibration spin down after each ride and I do a wahoo spin down afterwards aswell to calibrate it too. Things can get out of whack very quickly on Zwift. Great video/workout, love your youtube stuff...awesome.
I think he's on a tacx neo: no calibration needed
Bringing my mood up at the end of the day :) thank you
GT2RS !!!!!!! This is my kinda guy. Bikes and Cars. Loving the content. MORE please !
Somebody get this guy a fan!
Another great vid......I felt your pain!
Yes Blake pond! He's done a few TT's here in Cornwall and I'm pretty sure he is a local
Alex, the question is unsalted, slightly salted or unsalted butter on your roll! Love the content always makes me laugh.
when you get back on the road I will be really keen to hear if you feel Zwift has been a good training aid. I have friends that give me grief for zwifting instead of always using the real roads but I like to think that Zwifting is benefitting my overall training.
368 watts is decent, Alex, but Chanel is by far your greatest achievement
TT disc wheel setups on zwift are the : zipp 808/super 9 combo and the 858 super 9 combo
Loved it!!
You need a fan, that has made a big difference for me
haha, it looks like alex really got the cabin fever. kudos to chanel though - alex gives her more than enough reason to be sour when he shuts down every attempt she makes to lighten the mood but she just doesn't take it personally. there might be more stamina needed for that than for completing this time trial :)
It's all about cooling: 1. Huge fan 2. No shirt 3. Ice down the back of your bib shorts
You're not the only one that wants a GT2 RS, great choice of car!
Great vlog 👌
Come on, surely a GT3 RS...Vamos Alex! 🤘
There is a Zipp Super 9 disc wheel + 808 combo in the drop shop on Zwift
GT2 RS - yes Sir! Great choice.
The Bologna TT is BRUTAL!!!
I wonder what Alex thinks when he hears that door open again. Chanel is like, you can race and talk at the same time :)
Good work
LOL @ I’m gonna push and go for 368 watts. The dry wit is spot on.
It's because you are at altitude and using your accurate weight lol. I'm glad to see that you are starting to realize the antics on Zwift. In real life you'd destroy everyone and we all know that. And you know that too lol.
He'll beast it when he returns to sea level after all this altitude training. 👹👹
Your wife is a riot....
Great job.
Good watts!!! "got a cat, got a good girlfriend". LOL, I laughed.
zipp 808/super9 is what you want and two fans
why Zwift don't put image as disc ,,i didn't realise when i first looking for
Just looks brutal... Are you seeing the effect of the altitude in your blood values? (assume you’ve got some sort of blood spot test kit thing available).
Is there a rule of thumb for how many more watts you could put out at sea level, based on your numbers for where you are?
#NumbersNerd
“GT2 RS”, man has serious taste.
'Vamoss' is becoming a Zwift TT thing! We need to get Zwift to change the 'Ride-On's to Vamosses on TTs and get Chanel to record them! Would be epic! :)
ha genuinely feared for channels safety for a min there your face did not look happy 😆 grate vid tho mate
Mate, you have to use a fan. Have a chat to Greg Henderson about it. He had a great interview with one of his professors about heats effect on power output. Also, you need to be level 40 to get the first 808/disc available from Zipp, then level 45 is the 858/disc. If you have the 808s chuck them on. Also, in that one it was a race, so there was drafting. Everyone else had it, but you on the TT bike never got any draft effect. Cheers.
On flat roads people also dope with height. Imputing a lower height gives an aero advantage in the game.
Is this true? Can you cite a test? I thought zwiftinsider did some testing on this and determined that height had no bearing?
"How we doing in here?!" "Not good!" - dunno why but it got me lol
Love the content Alex! But get a bloody fan brotha.
Alex, do you train with a fan infront of you? I'm the furthest thing from a pro but i find overheating indoors is super easy and thus reduces power output. With a fan blowing infront of me (simulating wind cooling me) allows me to put out more power
I'm far from pro, or even a competitive cyclist, but having a fan does genuinely make such a big difference when riding on the turbo!
Alex the grub should do his own laundry.😂
If you're after Zwift race results, maybe it's worth doing on your road bike instead, so that you can squeeze our some extra watts over your TT position?
I’ve heard you’d be losing more watts from the lack of fast air flow than from altitude. Normally you are moving through the air crazy fast which creates cooling, siting there with just a little window open you are cooking yourself. Zwifters generally have fast fans or lots of standard ones.
That’s nice kit. Can people buy it?
If I move the turbo upstairs from the back room, can I blame altitude? lol
Nice effort
also a fan.
A Porsche man, I knew I liked you for some reason.
He used to own a 997 gt3 up until last year...a man with great taste!
Zipp has a disk wheel, look zipp super something. Not showing as disk in shop but once you choose it does...
Thanks. Forgot about that. Have been level 50 for at least a year now...
Enjoyed the whole vid, but Chanel's handling of the soaking wet kit via tongs put me over the edge, forcing me to hit the Subscribe button! :)
Do you ever really adjust to altitude? Or, do you only really see those adaptations when you get back to sea level?
Chanelle, you need to teach Alex how to load the washing machine so that he can place his dirty riding gear straight in the machine...
Have you done Alpe Du Zwift yet? You should do it live and let people know when so we can wave at you as you ride off!!
Does Chanel's 'motivation' add or drop 20 watts? :P
What altitude height are you at and where ?
The good thing when WT Pros are on Zwift they can spot the cheaters in no time. Hang on tight Alex! 6 weeks of lack down with your GF / Coach / Supporter is a recipe for total meltdown by mid of May... Pace yourself.
7:58 whats that vice alberts sat on for?
Maybe it would be possible for zwift to use a head on camera to look at ur frontal area while your riding? I know its not everything when it comes to being aero but atleast its part of it
There are staggered start TT races in Zwift I think...
the people have spoken! BUY A FAN!!
Try the BC one on Thursday evening, it's the London course so slightly shorter than Tempus Fugit but a bit more rolling and less boring
Paul Chambers this was the BC one - all the BC ones are exactly 10miles
@@david131092 My mistake, the ones I've done there have been slightly longer
GT2 RS: my man!!!!
You open new wheels as you level up!
Chanel and the tongs LOL..
Did I mention the fan?
Can’t you get more cooling while your riding Alex?
Sorry Alex, Zwift doesn't open disc wheels (808/Super 9) until level 35 at a minimum (unless you're a beta tester). I've been on Zwift for almost four years and just hit level 35. It's a long road ahead for that wheel set, unfortunately....
What exact altitude are you at?
Butter... haha love it
You mentioned you're at altitude... where are you? On the 3rd floor? :)
My wife totally agrees with you about touching the soggy clothes! All I could do was just laugh.
Hey Alex, what is the Watts loss due to altitude? (The altitude you're at) Thanks to show your power on strava and great effort!
He said at beginning about a 14% loss
around 60 watts for this, pretty massive
Alex when you mention Kevin Attreed do you mean Bagpuss :):)
doesn't total watts trump wpkg on flat courses ?
Only in RL. Same as the aero tuck trumps being 3 feet tall on a MTB in RL as well.
Chanel can give Phil Ligget a run for his money.
Bro its the fan! You can't go in that deep unless you get a fan!
Disc wheel not available anymore 😞
Disc wheel is available, you unlock it at level 37 or so.
Zwift Power!
Think the only thing zwift could do about the cda is maybe reduce it for each rider depending on how often they ride the tt bike. Not realistic but something. No point letting you input it yourself as you’d get people doing the same as they do with their weight.
