lol - I'll believe it when they order the first piece. For now it's just as much cool talk as space hotels.
I get your point, but I don't think Tech Vision are giving us just concepts, but actually proven to be in, at the very least, planing phase.
@@mr.boomguy I don't see the difference between concepts and planning phases. Both are equally subject to change at any moment due any sort of miscalculations or whatever other problem.
@@bruhder5854 Is there a phase of work where outcomes are not subject to change?
to be fair, space hotels are now a real thing, Axiom space has the first module undergoing final testing before its going to be launched to the ISS next January in 2022 before being docked to the ISS
@@coreytaylor447 Axiom space definitely. That version of a space hotel has legs - and pockets. But the Voyager space hotel is in the same category as this, merely cool talk but no walk.
This is about as realistic as that mile long ship that can land commercial airliners.
There are already Nuclear powered ships.
Well, except this one is actually going to be built.😆😁👌🏼
@@danielwhyatt3278 I very much doubt it. No government is going to approve a privately owned nuclear power ship.
@@magnetospin and further, it's an experimental salt reactor (which produce a very dangerous isotope, that need 28 days to decay and before it is used as fuel...)
But don't worry, with all their diversity it will end nowhere...
@@jascrandom9855 Nuclear ships are using PWR reactors. Not experimental molten salt reactors.
Seems more like a Life Raft for the Rich and Famous during the Apocalypse.
What Apocalypse.....
Load it up with billionaire technocrats, and fearmongering climate cultists, and sail into the Bermuda triangle! Riddance to these misguided freaks!
If that's actually the case, this thing/ idea might come to fruition a whole lot easier (gets its funding a whole lot easier).
by the time apocalypse comes (if it comes at all) this will be outdated
It's like you watched the video, but didn't understand it.
Sounds like someone is building a mobile bunker city for when the nukes hit.
Not just that, it'll be stocked with some of the smartest people on the planet. It reminds me of the plot of a James Bond movie.
more like when the peasants revolt
Epstein's Island 2.0
And one rather casual & low powered nuke would reach over & nail it directly, as they wouldnt want THESE left to try wrecking things anymore.
Remember when Freedom Ship was still a thing 20 years ago? This overgrown floating Trackball gives off the same vibe.
All hype - I’ve heard this before: “Look! It’s the next best thing! It’s futuristic! It’ll attract big thinkers and movers! It’ll be innovative! It’s the next Silicon Valley!” Yeah, whatever, I’ll believe when I see it.
Look man I would bet money to say that they're gonna ditch us and leave all their problems behind them
My "bullshit" meter is going off-scale high on this one. "No, no! It's not a super-elite mega-yacht...it's for science!"
@Sabatheus Amen dude Amen!
"No, no! It's not _JUST_ a super-elite mega-yacht...it's _ALSO_ for science!"
Why do I have the feeling of it as a disguise for a super villain hellbent on world domination
This is out of the future. Also the design of the ship is unconventional it’s amazing !
"If only I could conduct my experiments on a yacht" - said no scientist ever. I think it's pretty obvious to everyone that this has little to nothing to do with science and actual climate change research and everything to do with a yacht designer wanting to build a really fancy yacht.
Exactly.
this ship is simply a testament to how ludicrously wealthy the 0.01% have become at our expense.
And they want to use that money to research and brainstorm solutions for all of us…
Not at your expense. Our lives are better because of the products the 0.01% envisioned
@@nadie8093 this is the most stupid thing I’ve ever read in my life, I’m going to sue my teacher who taught me to read
@@lfdomingos could you explain why?
@@nadie8093 the 0.01% do nothing, all creation is the work of a huge group of workers with diverse knowledge in various areas integrated in the creation of products and services
This will probably end up like the Fyre Festival. All those billionaires will show up to find a giant raft made up of 1000 inflatable pool toys all strapped together and powered by Honda generators.
the idea of putting so many diverse people on one ship is kinda well... it would be a drama ship
This boat will epically fail
Putting *_the greatest scientific minds, most influential billionaires, ultra-expensive attention-drawing equipment and a_* *NUCLEAR REACTOR* in one single place at the same time doesn't look like a particularly, you know, *_*"cautious"_** idea idk
Time to start saving for my next cruise 🥴
😂🤔🤫
*Rich people:* Quick let's save the world by building a massive luxury cruise ship just for us! That will definitely make a difference!
Can we just appreciate this not being clickbait
So it's a flight of fancy that won't ever arrive... Cool.
This boat will be extraordinarily powerful in so many ways. So much to be gained it will be protected by the most powerful people on the planet.
Thank You , Fascinating !

this is the coolest concept!!!!
Great idea til it tips from a wave... They should've
It the giant spherical dome onto one of those Double Carrier designs..(2 carriers joined by a wide center)
I think this type of things are significant to make our world renewable and to bring sustainability .It can be a pioneer which will help us to fight against climate change.
Because somehow what the world needs now is another nuclear reactor, leaking radiation at the bottom of the sea. Genious.
great idea....
Wonderfully exciting!!!!!
Not nearly as cool as my nuclear fusion powered space cruiseliner concept I knocked up in Blender. I just need a few trillion dollars to develop it :P
HAHAHA god my sides. Please be sure to add a quantum computer in your design. And something about neural networks or another random techie buzzword.
But to be honest, it's kind of sad to see people hyped over 3D renderings that don't make any sense.
@@SC-yy4sw yea its sad to see pll fall for shit like that i feel like i saw thousands of the same futuristics projects
@@SC-yy4sw ...nanotubes :)
Put all the billionaires on earth on that ship and blow up the nuclear generator. KABOOM!
Sweet sweet revenge 😂😂😂
You wouldn't get a kaboom out of this reactor.
It's safer than your car with a tank full of gas.
Molten salt reactors have great promise of being safer but I think a decade or 2 of running them on land needs to happen before a civilian ship is powered by them .
Sorry but the having all the scientists work on this ship is so weird if he really wants to fund cutting edge research just donate the money and build them some labs
Great idea from a rich guy. Practicality dictates that 'if' this ever gets the go-ahead; the first things to go will be the fancy sphere and the nuclear power-plant.
Featured in this video: shit that won't ever get built.
Our Civilisation’s rejection of Nuclear power was a massive mistake, and the environment has payed dearly for it as we continue to rely on fossil fuels for our electricity
Sounds great but, sick sick sick!
I think this is really cool
Amazing..
Looks cool
Nice video.
And to think, after 70 years of splitting atoms and the idea of the nuclear CG boat feels like a slab to in my face.
1:38 lol floating mall to buy more useless stuff
Nice
When it came to greta the only think I imagined was her getting bashed by scientists 😂😂😂
Why would AI engineers want to be in the middle of the GAWD DAM(n) OCEAN! Guys, this is idiotic and vain.
yeah... they'll prolly end up with a garden variety ibm server with uplink. i do like the reactor though. we need more of that.
i say they give it to harland and wolff
Nobody in the world is going to let random people sail around with a nuclear reactor. Especially given we don't even have a molten salt reaction demonstration reactor on solid ground yet.
It would be nice to be explained more about this "salt" nuclear reactor. Any way it must generate power/electricity. And thermally it works only with high pressure steam. I don't know, if a nuclear reactor can be run like a hydrogen cell, by generating electricity without thermal steam procedure. Every nuclear reaction generates radiation and nuclear waste. This is also true for fusion reactors. So any kind of nuclear energy is not a "clean" and "save" technology. If this ship sanks, the radioactive content pollutes the ocean. So in now way nuclear power can be praised as a clean future perspective. Also the idea of Bill Gates, that it is better to run ten 150 MW reactors than one 1500 MW (EPR type) reactor is nonsence. Each 150 MW unit needs to be protected against internal failure and external dangers like aircraft hits, terror or war activities. So you need much more concrete to save ten smaller nucler power stations than one bigger unit. The bigger unit must be build, that the interior can be exchanged, so the outer bunker structure can be used for centuries. Thats about nuclear energy. The ship is a nice luxury project like skyscrapers in Arabia. But it cannot save the world !
Yessir let´s do it
I've got a simpler answer to the mega yacht problem. It involves about 300 AGM-84s.
I hope they're going to start putting plenty of money aside for decommisioning it because that doesn't come cheap when dealing with nuclear reactors.
Forget the big old ball and it would be ultra cool!
Cool... Keep it up

The term "boondoggle" comes to mind.
this is the bohemian grove of the sea
My understanding is this is not nuclear waste free. So in a long term view, we cannot say this is eco friendly. If this is a yacht, why do they not use more wind power?
Only one word comes to my mind when watching this.....
Pompous....absolutely pompous.
Imagine chernobyl on the ocean...
This plan is almost brilliant. Let's just tweak it a little by applying the adagio 'less is more': skip the quantum computer - those are useless anyway, leave the caviar vomiting guests at home, maybe we can leave out the reactor as we don't actually need the boat either! Now that we have saved a few billion, we can fund the scientists and engineers with a few hundred million and spend the rest on education for girls in those places where they would otherwise be left out. Its an ambitious and beautiful plan.
I really hope the future brings safer ways to power the world not just this ship.
Those windows on the yacht look alot like the Abstergo logo... 👀
Does this seem very dystopian to anyone else?
Reminds me of The Fifth Element!
I don't know if this was a paid advertisement or a serious video
How high was he when he dreamed this up?
Very nice 👍🔥
The fact that the boat rocks concerns me
The answer is a 3-billion dollar nuclear powered blimp - signed blimp manufacturer.
Ostentatious idea, the rich people will love it - only if it's already they follow trends like everyone else, they don't want to be the first person on the boat.
Arrrh the Pirates life for me 😏
I'd suggest Extendable outriggers / pylons for extra safety. That thing looks a bit top heavy for a nuclear powered craft. Although, if that's supposed to be a glorified science university on water, you might need to change the design entirely.
It is still a pipe dream.
Sounds like an attempt to create an AI supervillain.
Just like CERN!
Artificial intelligence is the most dangerous threat to human freedom, this tech must be outlawed!

The best way to save the Earth is to stop building this ship and start saving raw materials
Well, Nuclear boats have been a thing for a while. Most aircraft carriers are nuclear powered. So this is technically feasible. No new snake oil technology here. But I don't see people paying for this.
Why does this remind of Umbrella corporations ships?
Aptly described as Titanic it will suffer the same fate.
Why do I feel like this is just an expensive way to skirt international ethics laws in research by moving to international waters?

Molten Salt reactors are old news.
How are they gonna manage that? I bet its gonna be banned in almost every port.
The Third one for Japan
Very fine idea bringing together such diverse set people together but this will not dilute the purposes because rich people have ego and they don't value noble idea's
what if it crashes
Antarctica is not the South Pole therefore it can not be crossed like the North Pole...it can only be circumnavigated around its outer perimeter ice belt like Captain Cook did in the past.

It will end up being a lux cruise liner powered by a Nuclear Reactor that is already been battle tested on Nimitz class Aircraft Carriers.
the Nimitz reactors are not MSRs. They are PWRs.
