Understandable why they went small. Six Flags don't want a repeat of the Arrow 4D Coaster, X2 was big for the sake of being big and they encountered huge issues because of it. Walk before you run
SF Corporate has nothing to with Quaiddiya except using their name in a license deal
What I really hope is that Kings Dominion goes with an Axis eventually. I think it could make a worthy replacement for Volcano, though I do doubt they will go with an Axis for a replacement.
Honestly think Six Flags America needs one more as a Mild Eraser replacement. Expect we'll still see a launched B&M wing replace Volcano.
I could see this happening. They could even duplicate volcano with this model very effectively. Or another similar type of experience where you get launched out of some sort of structure.
Not Volcano, Anaconda.
It looks sick, but it's also going to Saudi Arabia, a country that I literally can not go to.
Seems great; hopefully they can come to Cedar Fair/Six Flags parks in the future!
I think it’s a good thing that it’s a small layout because it’s kind of acts like a test to see how it stands after a few months
I told my friend the other day that an axis coaster would be a cool concept for Universal’s Harry Potter area, especially in islands of adventure. They can do a lot with the concept.
Probably doesn't have enough capacity for WWoHP, but it does look more like the Gringotts carts in DH2 than what Intamin came up with.
I live in Logan right now, so I've been driving past the prototype every day for a while now and it's so exciting to know that it's finally going to get put to use! Can't wait to get out there and ride it!
it looks awesome I hope six flags and cedar fair can get one of these at one of the six flags park a small layout like that is a great start and it just goes to show that small layouts come with big advantages and axis does just that.
I can see major arcades getting these, maybe not major parks inless they made a larger version of it.
Dang. Wish it was coming here in the states. Can’t wait to ride one of these!!!
Its nice that they finally building one. And it makes sence that its a short layout. But the trains look super nice and it shows what could be possible in the next 5 years or so. If this thing performs good and has low maintence cost. I can see bigger ones in mayor parks in Europe and in the US.
Starting with a smaller model is also very smart in my eyes cause it may widen the market. It offers a good thrill on a small footprint, much like the Vekoma Boomerang. Therefore I will not be surprised to see this layout pop up at Wienerprater in Vienna.
Also think the axis coaster is going to be even more successful than the free spins, cause even tho they both are mainly built around the gimmick, the big advantage axis has is that it can make turns. This makes it way more versatile on the possibilities layout wise.
Looking forward to what the future may bring for the Axis coasters
If this ride does two laps they have an awesome chance to do some sick multi-theming. Decepticons theme on the first run, and then it switches to Autobots for the second run. That'd be sick
The Axis coaster model is often said to be the spiritual successor to Arrow Dynamics’ Suspended coaster model. But part of me hopes that S&S will revive the OG suspended coaster model too. It’s unlikely but my God would it be cool to have both!
I'd love to see it revived too
I could see how the Axis can be the spiritual successor, but I still think the ride experience would be very different. The seats in the Axis rotate smack dab in the middle, so the more centered center of gravity primes it for inversions, whereas the suspended coaster swings side-to-side a lot more.
Yes. And rebuild Big Bad Wolf at BGW. With todays tech, they can change the design slightly to make it easier to maintain and the track smoother.
@@porcelainthunder2213 And rebuild the covered bridge so you can synch it with Verbolten and the new BBW chases Verbolten down the hill.
Man I can’t wait for one to come to a park closer to me. You think the new six flags chain would be willing to invest in one at some point?
Yes it’s an affordable ride model it’s more then likely. Knowing six flags I think it will go to magic mountain or great America. I’d go on reasons why but you’d get bored
@@Britishairwaysfan lol well that’s exciting to hopefully see one sooner than later in the US and hopefully on a larger scale
Idk about that man. I believe after the merger six flags will hardly buy any prototypes anymore
Guarantee you they will. It's not an expensive option, it's new and exciting, and highly marketable. I'd say they get one sold pretty quickly and it begins construction next winter. I was really hoping this would be what's coming to Six Flags over Georgia
@@biguzivert That's the thing - Six Flags let a smaller park front the risk on a prototype. And this FEC is probably going to charge per ride, so it won't be a huge risk for them, either.
one of the most exciting iaapa!
I think it's a great idea and addition!!
While it would be cool to see a larger axis coaster in a major park, I think this model is very appealing to smaller parks and FECs. If those parks have a land or height restriction and can't build a larger-scale coaster, they can compensate for this by having the axis trains doing these wacky maneuvers through that smaller layout. Whatever they do with this model, I really want it to succeed!
As soon as the Axis was originally revealed i just knew Six Flags would be first in line to buy a bunch of them and slap DC superhero names on them, so color me surprised
I'm now subscribed to this channel just to see her! 😍
I’m really looking forward for this new kind S&S axis spin coaster
Coaster studios: I think this could go to Blackpool think, it’s compact layout and by me looking in the website it’s affordable. It’s rumours but we know Blackpool goes with originality
As BPB is my home park I would love that.
When I think axis I don't think only left n right. I'm sure they could've incorporated elements to make it loop like the old rock o planes
Parks I think could get an Axis:
Adventureland (Iowa)
Canada's Wonderland (to replace Flight Deck and/or Time Warp)
Kennywood
Kings Dominion
Lagoon (located an hour from S&S)
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (to replace Kong)
Six Flags Fiesta Texas
Six Flags Great Adventure
Six Flags Magic Mountain
Fun Spot Kissimmee
Fun Spot Atlanta
I would add Over Georgia in the list. It’ll be a huge hit at the park if built
Quite excited about this one
How much do they cost??? That (other than actual ride quality, which almost goes without saying) is what will be the determining factor as to how many get built. So many S&S Free Spins and RMC Wood to Ibox conversions were built because price wise they are an excellent value relative to the majority of steel coasters.
The cost has not been revealed- but I'm sure as with all thrill coasters, it likely is not cheap
At last a long awaited ride concept is being built.
First
Sarah there’s no more Cedar Fair it’s Six Flags
Second- Can’t wait for them to come to the US
I wonder how many people will go all the way to Saudi Arabia for this park beyond the enthusiasts
One of the Fun Spot parks could add one. Could see that happening in a few years.
Since Hasbro owns Galaxyland in Edmonton, I have hopes that a clone of this might replace Mindbender
I’m still surprised they didn’t go big like in the original model announcement
This is an FEC. Not surprising it's going to be this small.
The prototype's layout looks like a modern take on Arrow's old 1,250 ft long Corkscrew model. (Will definitely be more fun riding 2 laps of the Axis) Really hope we don't see Six Flags America's Mind Eraser reopen with new trains so an Axis can go on its spot in the coming years. (Unlikely they'd get that investment, but Batwing is coming up on 25, so...)
I love how compact it is to be honest, any park could fit this in a tiny space.
3:49 its the same thing now 😭😭😭😭
this looks like it would be a nice replacement for the aging Arrow suspended coasters that are still out there. wonder if those trains are miserable to maintain.
Can they put one of these in vortex’s former plot of land at kings island
I would’ve asked if I was there to try out the train at IAAPA
can't wait for someone to make an Axis coaster on OpenRCT lol
I'm concerned with how low those vest restraints are
Sweet
Pretty cool, too bad I’ll never ride it lol
Looks like something thst could replace mummy at USH
just hope S&S got their reliability on point.
As it is is a prototype, i’m sure it’ll come with its fair share of issues at the start, but the core spin of the ride uses the same technology as the 4D free spins, which have proven to be very reliable.
Steel Curtain is like “hold my beer if you’re building a ‘small version to fix the kinks’”
I am glad to see them starting on a smaller scale so we don't see a repeat of X
No two rides will be the same . I hope it’s as good as it looks.
It's tiny, I'll wait to see a full size one.
I feel they should make a boomerang SnS free spin coaster that has a turn table like aqua man power wave. And this Idea that I have should be included in universal epic universe Mic drop 🎤
Great looking ride but this one seems very short so im guessing its the prototype? Will deffo be visiting this park once open and to the ones moaning about the rules out there ive been to dubai, abu dhabi and saudi with my girlfriend before and stayed in the same rooms its not as bad as people think. We didnt hold hands in public or anything but for the most part its calm.
Dang it why cant there be a new, cool coaster opening somewhere thats actually reachable for me? I just cant travel overseas. I guess if i hit the lottery, but when we travel, i have to come up with the money to take 6.
Like probably most, I was expecting a bigger layout for the first installation. But why not something smaller? With the Axis technology and clever lighting there is still a lot going on to make the ride far from boring. It might even the better way to start like this, work out the kinks and avoid another tragedy similar to X/X2.
Taylor, it's me, Connor! And my birthday is in 2 days! Isn't it getting close?
Silly Sarah, there is no Cedar Fair to buy one!
There's going to be kaffiyehs flying everywhere 😂
Just asking the big question(s) if only 50% of your population can be outside without permission why would you want to open not one but two major attractions in your country?
uhh that's kinda small
At least the prototype is in Saudí Arabia, which is a country where most coaster enthusiasts wont go and we will get a better model closer to us
Cedar who?
Uhm wasn't the original axis concept differen?
Yes, it featured a lift hill, and this is a launch
I am aiming at something else. Weren't the original seats still and the only rotation was around the track?
@@christiangehl3134 nope, that was never the case
They should put the trains from this coaster on falcons flight
That would be way too ridiculous
See how much teething problems it has before we see if its a success or not. I would not expect to see any larger investments in this design for a couple years after this is operational and proven. Sure they have their test rig, but its not operating 8-12 hrs a day 365 days a year. I doubt its even had 1000 cycles on it.
Why is bro bending his knees like that……..
Hurray! So all we need to do is support a dictatorial regime in order to ride? Sweet!
Another coaster i will never ride as an Israeli Jewish...
Umm ok not coming to american hated it.👎
Mecca. Rollercoaster mecca.
America needs one ASAP I don't care rn because us regular folks in America will 99% never ride these. America wtf come build one tf 😢
GIMMICK RIDE. PASS
