Just love that V2 Ducati sound. The 1199 is my second Ducati which was my very first super sport. I’m in my early 50's so everyone was saying it was a bad choice for first sport bike, blokes my age need to flop into a comfy adventure bike blah blah. But so glad I got it. Been the most fun bike I have ever owned what a blast which is ironic that I really just got it because I always loved the look and sound of them. Now every weekend I’m off being a ratbag poppin wheelies everywhere. Last year I even road it down to Philip Island for MotoGP from Sydney. No problems with my back neck or wrists at all. I’m just lucky my old body happens to like the sport position much better than upright.
I am over 50 as well. I cannot even dream of riding anything but Superbikes. I love them to bits. Nothing else gives so much enjoyment and is legal lol
@@colin55594definitely needs the Akrapovic exhaust to let the sound out. I wouldn't own one with the stock exhaust. I think the Yamaha R1M inline 4 is one of the best sounding 4 cylinder engines. I love mine.
I like how are the shops one bloke seen your bike and knew what it was. Couldn’t stop looking at it. That would be me. I enjoy these videos and agree with the way you ride. Cheers mate
This was my first choice as I walked in the dealership oct of '23. Ended up leaving with the 2024 v4. I love tossen the v2's around. Did you walk around in full leathers from wherever that place was you first took off from?
Hi! Can you help me a bit? I have a Panigale V2 I love the sound of the 2-cylinder, that's why I bought it, but it's simply so raw, so shaky that it's too much for me. Are there any 2-cylinder supersport engines that run smoother? or is this the case with all manufacturers?
@@ashinoz11 no it's not too fast, i mean when it stutters at low revs I can't get used to it. Is this the case with all 2 cylinder engines? So far I have only dealt with 4-cylinder bikes
@Teejaay1 4 cylinder engines will do that as well. It sounds like you are riding in 6th gear too slowly and when you accelerate it is so low in the rev range, that the engine is not designed to be ridden like that.
Nice ride Ashley. Like the way you still customized a Bayliss version. Nice rims, love the gold. Akra should be default ;). Is this numbered as well? Been riding a V2 for 3yrs now. Love it! Enjoy.
Yes I agree the Akrapovic exhaust should be standard. It is numbered but it seems like Ducati do that with every model lately!!! It is my 1st Ducati and I got the exhaust for about half what they charge at Ducati from buying it directly from Italy at WRS.IT so when I looked up the Marchesini M7RS wheels they were also half the price so it was a no brainer. I have the original competition in 2000 & 2001 the Honda VTR1000 SP1 as well and it is very similar in options that I customised so I had a proven set-up that I knew worked well on the road. How many kms or miles have you done on yours?
@@ashinoz11 Good tips! I am considering renewal, most likely V2 again. Prices here (.BE) are +2K € on bike and +800€ on Akra for same bike i bought 3yrs ago :( Ordering directly could be worth the effort. Or powdercoating. I now have 29000 Km / 17.000 miles, only weekends and never rain. Come home & clean if for next ride :) No complaints, no issues. Do a maintenance when season ends and a winter check. Red V2; clear clutch covers; tidy shortented tail; bronze-like rims and minor paint on windshield. Also over 50 and had mostly Monsters (750; SR800; 796) then Supersport now V2. The V4 is nice, but bit to steap for me 25K € for standard V4. Way to powerful for my street rides. The Bayliss costs 23K over here.
@T2000 I thought the same for the V4, I probably would of got a V4S for the electronic suspension but straight away that bloody exhaust is a small fortune & revving a V4 to 16500rpm on the street is not going to happen. I love my 2015 Yamaha R1M and 2016 Kawasaki ZX-10R, they are both insanely fast and they don't need to be replaced. I have Woolich Racing AutoTune on both of them and it is very enjoyable learning and seeing the results from tuning the bike myself among the 1000's of other adjustments you can make with Woolich Racing. I have done 9500kms on my R1M and 65,000 on the ZX-10R. I ride the ZX-10R everyday in any weather and it is amazing, never ever had a problem with her. Very comfortable to ride. If the new model wasn't so ugly I would of got another ZX-10R, that is what made me look at the V2, then when the Bayliss was announced it wasn't much more for the extras & with my usual modifications it is sensational!!!!

I'm 57 and bought a V2 white version late last year, what a bike, I love it.
I'm your age and have an 1199 and a V4S with the Akra exhaust and tune. The new bikes are so much easier to ride.
I hate Ducati sound compared to I line 4s. Selling my 950, it's slow and sounds like a lawn mower

@24PAN4 I put the heat shields on the seat and sides so it is not too bad.
I love the way your microphone picks up the engine sound. Thank you for the content.
GoPro 10 is pretty good. Thanks!
@@ashinoz11 That's the stock internal mic? I have that same gopro and yours sounds better.
@@luissantiago847 I got the media attachment with the bigger microphone. That must be why it sounds better
159 in an 80 zone, my god you have balls. Cool bike!
Ashley, youtube has a feature that blurs your speedo FYI.
I need it. How, where?
Hey you’re in Springfield. Orion😃
Where Homer Simpson lives!!!
At that speeds dont you get the heat under??
I put the Ducati spacers heat shields on my bike. They fit under the seat and next to the engine. Makes it almost gone. But I still wear leathers
I wouldn't even ride the bike without those heat shields

When you say raw, do you mean it's too fast for you? I would say it is smooth. If you want a slower 2 cylinder get a parallel twin.

Oh my 😃😃
Akra full system or slip on?
Slip on Akrapovic with Ducati Akrapovic engine map loaded that comes with the exhaust.
Still sounds like crap after over 1k exhaust
